be very careful taking ur car to these people. my son took his car there they wanted $1200.00 claiming the car needs a tune-up. after questioned what was going to be done on the tune- up the price came down to $1000.00 to replace plugs and clean the intake system ( the tune-up) my son refused the service and told them he was going to pick the car up. when he got there his car with a check engine light and no drive ability issues when he took it there started shaking terrible and went into limp mode. go figure.....scam. read more

Totally different experience than others. Not pleased with level of knowledge and won't be back. Plus: oil change at decent price and didn't upsell. Minus: no knowledge of Honda Maintenance Minder codes (I had a few listed and even showed the sales rep what codes mean on phone), even when codes were explained they wouldn't check on/carry out services required by codes, wouldn't take coupon from Meineke site because it wasn't printed out. Appreciate that they wanted me "in and out" but not happy with overall service. Perhaps they had other/bigger jobs to take care of, but not what I expected given reviews. read more

I had catalytic system replaced in March quickly and at a fair price. Pedro showed and explained everything! He kept me apprised at every step, even when he had to wait for delivery of another part. All in one visit: fair price. Had a brake issue last week, and returned to Pedro. Next day he replaced brake system again at a fair price. And he tells you what to be aware of in the near future. This is my second review of Meineke of Mountainside New Jersey. I had an issue with the catalytic converter on a very old 2003 Toyota Corolla that has 240,000 miles on it. Pedro, the Manager of this shop has always taken care of this car with the utmost care. There were a couple of issues until he got it just right due to the age of this vehicle. I almost wanted to call it a day but Pedro is relentless in finishing his work. ....actually he is obsessive when it comes to totally RESOLVING any problem you may have with your car. Other shops and mechanics may have just quit the job and refunded your bill. NOT Pedro....he worked on my car as if it were his own.....and he succeeded with flying colors....Took the car for State inspection and it passed!!. The guy is a genius.....an honest and hard worker. These guys are pretty cool. They did a great job balancing my tires and straightening my alignment. And they completed it on the same day I called. I normally don't go to chain repair shops because you usually get ripped off but I did get that feeling from this place. Furthermore, they hire local guys so I knew a couple people in the shop from the community so that made it even better experience. This is a long overdue review for my experience at this Meineke in Mountainside in March 2013. I initially brought my Honda Odyssey to the dealer for an oil change and a few other issues. I asked them to also check the loud exhaust noise that was something that I actually was getting used to, lol. The service person gave me the total cost of all the items that needed to be done, including the exhaust. He mentioned that they would need to replace the whole section of the exhaust that was affected. This would have added $1300 to the total!! But he then mentioned that he was aware of the Meineke in Mountainside that he had used in the past and that they were good at performing this kind of work and that it was possible to just perhaps get the section replaced and welded. Fast forward a few days and I brought the car to Meineke and explained the situation. The manager (I can't remember his name) said that he would be able to do it for about $300. He cut out the rusted piece and welded in a new piece. What a difference in noise. I was very satisfied with the work and it has been almost 3 months now and everything is good. And he also mentioned he could have done the front brakes that I had done at the dealer at half the price :( Oh, well, I told him the next time I would bring my car there first. Bottom line, get the price and situation from the dealer then bring it here for comparison. It may save you a few hundred dollars. read more
