Review for Advance Auto Parts - July 9, 7 PM (Tuesday): I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience at this location. I came in needing a specific tool bit to remove a TPMS sensor -- something I'd only use once. I politely asked if I could quickly use the tool in the parking lot after buying it. The employee -- a shorter Asian man working around 7 PM on Tuesday, July 9 -- told me, "I do mind, actually." I respected his answer and responded by saying I'd just buy the tool and return it in a few minutes. What he said next shocked me: "I hate customers like you," and he repeated it more than once. I was stunned. I hadn't been rude or demanding -- I was simply trying to solve a problem and had been transparent about what I needed. He then added a condescending remark, suggesting every man should already have a full toolbox. I do own a toolbox -- just not that particular bit. This kind of judgmental and aggressive attitude is completely uncalled for, especially in a customer service role. It's been raining on and off all day, but its currently drizzling outside and I noticed that I needed to replace my windshield wipers sooner than later; so after work I stopped in here. I used the handheld electronic to search for my size wipers (which was cool) in the designated aisle. I picked up my wipers and proceeded to checkout, but no one was around. I waited patiently, then a women started to rush and check me out. So I asked, can you install my wiper blades? She answered, WE DON'T INSTALL THEM IN THE RAIN. ‍ Me being caught off guard, I repeated it back a few times and each time it was the same answer. I'm like it's not even raining that hard right now; she goes to check and say "oh we can put them on for you." She tried to pass the "job" off to male coworker but he wasn't having it. So after she asked me to bring the car up to the front, she reluctantly came to service me. My thoughts, if you dont want to get wet or dirty or whatever, find a new job. Well another car needed wiper blades...so again the hubby and I made a Sunday afternoon trip to the auto parts store. This time we avoid the competitor across the street given the not so stellar experience. They have one of those computer look up things that you put your car's make/model in and it gives you the corresponding brands that match. The staff was helpful, the hubby was also looking for something else and the staff member provided recommendations on possible items that would meet the need. I had a wonderful experience today at this Advanced Auto Parts location. I was helped by Vanessa who was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my questions. My car had a check engine light on and had trouble starting. I was able to ascertain the problem code with the thing you plug into the dash, and though Vanessa couldn't find it in the book I was able to google it. The problem code seemed to have nothing to do with the battery being bad, but we went ahead and checked the battery for charge. The machine said the battery was just fine and holding charge. The previous day I had been able to jump it to get it started so Vanessa lent me the store jumping unit. Unfortunately it didn't work this time. I was perplexed and got ready to call a tow truck. While I was figuring that out, Vanessa had talked with a customer (I think he might have been a regular customer) and explained my problem to him. He was a mechanic and said he'd like to take a look at my car. I didn't get his name unfortunately but he was very nice and obviously had a good relationship with this store. He listened and thought it might be the battery. He informed me that the reader machines aren't always accurate. He was able to jump my car and after buying a new battery everything is running great and the check engine light is off. Today started out feeling like a disaster. Through the whole process Vanessa was very helpful, patient that my problem wasn't an easy fix, and very nice. This is a place I would definitely trust, especially if you can get help from Vanessa. I've recently moved to the area, so it was nice feeling like I could have someone to trust with my car questions. I will definitely be returning to this location. read more

Sold me the wrong sized air filter, switched it out when I brought it back. Otherwise a great shop!

They sold us the wrong alternator and when we called about it everyone pretended that it never happened and would refuse to test it and show us that it worked. Worst customer service read more

I have been to this store before. Never had a problem. I do not know anything about cars but my dad did show me how to ask for things. Well on a rainy day (mind you it was just light rain) I went in to buy a windshield wiper and the people working there seemed like they were kinda in a pissy mood. I go up to one of them and ask if they had a wiper that fit my car. Give them the info, he gets what we need, pay for our stuff. Then we ask if its possible if someone could put it on for us. Well it just felt like I had just asked them to do something way hard. It was raining but not very hard. Both Hector and the other African american lady were like umm its raining and i do not want to get wet so he was like just take it to the dealer they will do it for you. I was like we cant drive without a functional wiper. This is the reason we came in. Well there is a huge sign on your window that says free installation. I was like never mind its not hard to fix a bloody wiper I will do it myself and walked out. Well I couldn't do it the piece that broke was stuck on so I called the next morning and got someone different and he was more then happy to help. Got it on in like a sec. and it was still raining. Thank you Chris for being our hero...I would give them a few more stars just because of Chris but because of the the other two..They need to have better customer service skills. read more
