He checked with everyone & communicated well from greeting to any assistance needed to making sure everyone is taken care of during their visit at the store. I had an idea of what to get from online search for my car at a glance...but he definitely was more helpful with showing the wider range of selections to choose from & answering questions. 11/20/21 The song going the distance started playing upon the time we entered the shop. We are now waiting in line, but the place seems really understaffed. No body was really on the floor to help customers if they needed help. Most of the people who deeded assistance, the employees were in the back. Needed information on a certain product,. The employees were in the back. Superman video?! The employees were in the back. Now there were two employees up front, but one was helping a guest, while the other one was on the phone. We were in line and when that employee finished with his customer, he moved away to do something else. Luckily, Wonder Woman (aka Jahida B) appeared and rang me up while my wife was able to get rung up by the guy on the phone. It all worked out in the end, but I would hate to see this place on a very busy day with the shirt staff they had...unless the staff are hiding in the back. I will say the store was nicly stocked and organized in most areas. Most staff i have met at Advance Auto Parts are not overly friendly, but don't have the reputation of a Tattoo Artist I've met. Guess there is something to be said about that. I would like to thank Wonder Woman for stepping in when she did. This review could have been much lower on the service here. read more

Rude, disrespectful, offensive!!! Went to do a return with items purchased two hours earlier, unused, in brand new condition, with tags and receipts. Spent almost half an hour trying to explain the obvious to the people working in the store. Was refused refund with the following rediculous explanations: items not in good condition (absolutely untrue!!!!), items not purchased at their store(absolitely untrue!!!), no purchase for some items in the system(!!!), showing them the store receipt and not the customer receipt (!!!!!) and some more. Finally was refunded but was treated awful. Worst customer experience I ever had, would not recommend this store to anyone! Plus, there was an entire patch on the passenger side that completely wasn't getting cleared of precipitation at all. Conveniently, it was in an area that I don't typically need to have visibility through, but has been distracting for awhile. Since I happened to be passing through this plaza on a hunt for various other party essentials, I figured it'd be worth the time to stop in and see if I could pick up some new windshield wipers (and perhaps a guide on what to do with them, exactly, not having ever changed my own wipers out before). Oh, how easy it ended up being! They have whole books - like, dictionary-sized things - with makes and models and years, then the ID numbers for the appropriate windshield wipers to fit the driver's side and passenger's side. They're not the same?! Who knew?! Conveniently, everything is organized by brand and by ID tag, so locating the appropriate wipers are cake. Why couldn't they have made the Dewey Decimal System this intuitive? I ended up splurging on a new set of Rain-X wipers (hey, their TV ads are persuasive... I want to make rain fall backwards...) and walked up to the first open counter, where a petite young lady (with an acute country accent) helped ring me up. I think it was at the point where I was asking confirmation about whether or not there were any other tools or equipment I should purchase to swap out my wipers that it became painfully obvious to her that I had -no- idea what I was doing with my newly purchased wipers, at which point she gave me a little look of "seriously?" Hey. I never said I was super butch. She tells me to go ahead and pull up right in front of the store, and proceeds to start dismantling the plastic containers of my new wipers while I draw up to the fire line. That makes me super self-conscious, because I always -hated- when people parked along the fire curbs when I was an ambulance driver. I figured I'd risk the wrath of any other fire/rescue personnel in the area to obtain some aid in defeating the awful noises of my lame-o wipers. My petite savior then proceeded to demonstrate how mind-bogglingly simple it is to detach and replace my wipers. Even letting me partake in the excitement of installing my new purchase on the driver's side. While she definitely regarded my instructional lesson with a little wry humor, it was all extremely professional and efficient. And with the crappy semi-rain that's been spitting from the sky over the past day or so, I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase. They're all pretty much the same, but the few times I've been here have always been straightforward and smooth and I've no reason to not recommend them. The prices of car parts vary strangely and unpredictably, and I always recommend calling a few places to get a price quote before you plunk down your hard-earned for a new alternator or battery ... but there's no reason why this location shouldn't be on your to-call list. read more

Decent selection of items to pick from my husband and I came because he needed wiper blades on his car. Unfortunately the first set there was a defect with one of them and it immediately broke when he tried to put it on, thankfully he was still in the parking lot when it happened as I was next door, when I came back he was in line to exchange and see if he could get some help with the install. Although at the time we were there they were quite busy so the cashier said it would be about 10 minutes until someone would be available. My husband didn't feel like waiting so he did the exchange and we left. Thankfully the next go around there weren't any problems. I will not shop at Advance again. They boast about "Order online pick up in 30 minutes". Ordered a 134A can tap valve online. Website said it was in stock. Got over to the store, stood in line for fifteen minutes, got to counter only to have them bring me a can of Freon. Waited another 15 minutes while they searched the store but could not find any. They found some at a Quest store some distance away where I finally pick up my purchase. Not worth my time to put up with this BS. read more

My husband and I had the worst experience at Advance Auto Parts Sterling today. We purchased some small tools today and after figuring out they were not the right tools we need we went to the store to return them. All items were unused, in brand new condition, with tags, with the receipts. The staff there was rude, disrespectful and offensive. They went through different stories trying to refuse refund, including: tools are unusable, you were already refunded, purchase is not in the system, can't see items on the receipt(!!!), you have the store receipt and not the customer receipt(!!!) My husband spent more than twenty minutes explaining and pointing out the obvious before finally they realized and gave us a refund. Extremely poor customer service, would leave zero stars if I could. And stuff wasn't wearing masks putting customers in danger!!! As far as auto parts stores go, this one is better than average. The good: The parts I'm looking for are almost always in stock It's a big store. Lots of inventory on the shelves The bad: sometimes there are long lines sometimes the parts show on their computer that they are in stock, but aren't on the shelf Employees change so often, I rarely see the same people in there twice Be careful about the prices of the parts you're looking for, and they usually suggest the more expensive parts first. read more

Stopped by today to get a filter and noticed as I was walking in that a prominent sign on the door read "face masks required" due to Covid. Good news is that the few customers in the store including me had masks on yet one of the two staff people did not. She proceeded to walk through the store by customers to get a cart and continued to process my sale without a mask. Please adhere to your own policies and keep us all safe. I went in to get my battery tested, and a woman came out to test it. I opened the front of my car and she asked where the battery was. I told her I didn't know, and she said "well isn't this your car? Shouldn't you know?" (I am a girl in my 20s I know nothing about cars) I came here for help because I don't know anything about my car, and instead of helping she wanted me to find the battery, and then come back in when I found it and tell her. I went to buy car battery because it died at the parking lot. I had no clue how to change the battery so I asked if I buy the battery from them they would install it and they said they don't. Needed to borrow jumper cables (not buy new ones since I had them at home) to assist a customer to jump their car in the shopping center. The employees were super nice and only asked for my ID to borrow the cables. There was a line when I came back but they recognized me and swapped my ID and cables in seconds and I was out the door I wouldn't have minded to wait, but it was still awesome service! read more

I was way, way overdue on getting windshield wipers for my car. I was in the neighborhood, so I stopped in and used the mini computer system they have to determine which model works for your car. I identified the right number, found what would fit my car, and proudly went to the counter to pay. I don't know a lot about cars, so being able to find what I needed was a major victory. Vanessa offered to ring me up and as I set my intended purchases on the counter, she asked me if I just needed one wiper. Wow - I really am dumb. I didn't even know they came individually, I just assumed they came as sets. She was very, very cool - I am sure they get more than their share of people like me in the store, it would have been easy to smirk and make fun. But she just quickly pulled up the screen with options for my car, found a brand that had a buy one, get one 50% off special going on. She went out into the store and picked up the ones that I needed. She asked if I needed help outside. I went through an internal momentary struggle, but reasoned that if I didn't know they came in individual packages, I surely wouldn't know how to replace them. Total mayhem. Very unprofessional staff, big attitudes, no clear understanding of the products, or where anything is. Nobody seems to know where to line up, behind a specific register or in one line and the front goes to the first available register. After much waiting and line jumping, I was sold a battery that was so dead that when I put it in, it did not even have the power for me to open the trunk to get it out again, I had to jump it through the fuse box! I returned it for a replacement, more lines, more attitude and they spent 15 minutes looking for the battery tester, when I had the cheek to ask that this one be tested before I left the store. There is now way in hell, I will ever buy a think from them again. The one star rating is the lowest I could give, if I could have given none, I would have. Bought an axle online from their store. After the mechanic installed it he said it is making a clicking noise so he replaced it with another brand from a different store. The axle from the other store went perfect. I went to return the faulty part but the clerk told me he cannot replace it because it was installed. So a couple of days old part has no warranty ? On the box said limited lifetime warranty. How limited is the warranty in their opinion, two days? Very poor customer service. read more
