Whole we always find what we're looking for, it's sometimes hit or miss when dealing with the staff. We usually purchase online to pick up from the store. Almost always, we don't receive notification that the item is ready so we end up just showing up to the store and our order will be ready but for whatever reason, whomever pulled the item never updated the system so that we would receive our notification. This particular visit was no different. We ordered an item for my car and of course, whole I received the email that the order was accepted, I never got the subsequent email, telling me that the item was ready to be picked up. Since they're literally a couple blocks from where I live, I just stopped by a couple days later. When I parked in the lot, some of the staff were helping a customer with their car out front and when I walked in, there was a young girl standing by the registers but not quite behind the counter. She had no uniform on and just started at me as I walked in, without saying a word. She literally stared me up and down so I took the initiative to inquire whether or not she was an employee. She said yes, so I told her that I was there to pick up an order I placed online. She must have been new, I'm guessing only because she had no idea what she was doing. She didn't know how to look up my online order, find the item or ring me out. One of the other employees had to come in and guide her. No one knew where the item was and as I previously mentioned, someone pulled my item, put it on the shelf for pick-up, yet failed to update the system. I was watching the whole scenerio and live-texted my husband about how ridiculous the whole situation was. It took longer than it should have but TBH, I think I was just rubbed the wrong way with this chick's demeanor and presence. I've worked retail and you definitely should acknowledge your customers. You don't have to hound them but acknowledge that they exist. Don't just stare at them as though you're an apparition that no one can see. That's rude. I only give three stars because of the convenience of their online purchasing system. It's easy and fast but if you live further from your location than I do from mine, I would suggest you call and confirm your order is ready before you make the trip. read more

I have been a customer at the Yonkers location for the past 4 years. A couple of the guys are great however if you call this location they place you on hold for a very long time. Last night I called looking for parts to my car. The individual told me they will order it and I would have it this morning. After multiple calls and hanging on hold for each of those calls for at least 15 mins, I finally got through and asked if my order was delivered as promised only to find out that the order was not even placed. My dilemma is that I am driving to south Florida tomorrow morning and wanted the vital parts to install today so that I can be sure if a safe trip. Now I have to scatter and find these parts today and make it in time for my mechanic to install them. This is utterly outrageous and someone in Corporate should have a rep go and teach these guys the importance of taking better care and concern for customers!! I stumbled over here by accident thinking it was autozone. Nonetheless it was a great find. Been here a few times since I bought my car! First for wax and the made a good suggestion. Then for bulbs and the guy even helped me put in the lights. The service is great here but they get busy. And thank goodness their knowledgable. read more

I was just here today, Christmas Eve, as my battery died in my car. I called ahead to see if they were open. The guy on the phone was polite and professional. He gave me pricing info and said that most likely they would be able to install the battery for me. I went in promptly after the phone call. The girl at the desk was super nice, professional and helpful. They did install my battery for me and within about 10 minutes I was out of there. During my time there another man (owner? Manager?) came out and addressed me by name and asked if I was being taken care of and asked if my battery was being installed. I had a very pleasant experience here. If I ever have the need to come here again, I will! Thanks all. read more

What a nightmare. Third time I looked online and saw their inventory claims they have something they don't. This store cannnot get their inventory together and it shows in other reviews as well as google reviews. Went in there for a wax, and the girl said maybe it shows in stock online bc it's on the truck and they can't get to it. Now I picked out a new product, and went up to pay. I asked if they can match their online price. The girl said no and I should put it through online if I want that price. It is listed $8.24 online and 11.99 in store. Walked out and didn't purchase anything. I will never return. Their online prices are cheap but if you go to auto zone they will match it. That's exactly what I did. This store should get their inventory in order and override the system to match their online prices. I know they can I've seen it. Autozone is a way better choice no wonder so many advance stores they bought from Carquest have closed. Advance..sell the company back to carquest ! read more

Be careful. I visited this store this afternoon to buy a new car battery, and the clerk included an item in my purchase which I didn't ask for and charged me for it. When I went to the counter to pay for the battery, he (without asking me) automatically included a pack of battery terminal protectors and electrical grease. I thought it came with the battery for free, but after I got home I noticed on my receipt that I was charged an extra $3.80 for the terminal protector kit. I do not consider this a necessary item and would not have bought it if I was given a choice. It's one thing for a salesman to try to sell you more items, but sneaking extra items and charges into a customer's purchase is outright fraud! read more
