On 6/24/24 I had a simple plumbing job done by this company. The Moen valve cartridge in my shower broke and needed to be replaced. I have video doorbell, so I know exactly when the tech arrived and when he left. He showed up at 1:01 PM, looked at my shower and said that he needed to get the part. He said that the part cost $76. He left at 1:05 PM. He then returned at 1:38 PM and left at 14:16 PM. He spent total 38 minutes in my house working, getting paperwork ready and collecting the payment. He also told me that he "waved the service fee". To summarize: 30 minutes of actual work replacing $76 part. After he left, I come to find out that my credit card was charged $709.55 (invoice # 71795454). I was sure that this was a mistake. I called three times before the "office manager" called me back. She checked something and said that that the invoice was correct!!!! I could not believe it. I checked with other plumbing companies just to compare. The usual charge per hour of labor is about $170. So the fair price for this job would be about $160 ($85 for 30 min of labor plus $76 for the part). They unashamedly stole over $500! And I've been their customer for years. My AC was replaced in 2019 by Service Gurus, which was bought by Advanced Air; they replaced my water heater 2 years ago, and did multiple AC service appointments. I even bought their "comfort club" membership. So that's how they treat their loyal long-term customers! Beware. This company does price gouging. If you want to be gouged, please use them. Also, keep in mind that the old 5 star Google reviews do not belong to them. They belong to Service Gurus, which Advanced Air bought. Service Gurus were an awesome company. YELP reviews reflect their true nature. You will find many customers who had exactly the same experience. Finally, their invoice does not itemize price of parts or labor. It gives you entire amount. So you have no idea how much was the part or labor. Bottom line: this company is very dishonest. They do not advocate for their customers. They only want to get as much money out of you as possible. KEEP AWAY from them! There are plenty of great locally owned companies that will provide you with honest service. read more

Company sold me a Frigidaire AC four years ago that had been discontinued due to warranty issues. . On at least four separate occasions a service person had to replace a defective evaporator coil which has Class Action suit pending. Further more, at the time Frigidaire, had advise against this unit installed in parts of the country with high humidity. The sales person should have been aware of this prior to advising me as prior to its purchase. Though I would commend Advance Air and Heat regarding promptness of service, it was not with out cost. Example... $200.00 for a ten minute leak test even though I showed the service tech. the reason for the leak. read more

This company is ABSOLUTELY terrible and has an argumentative account representative. I had a gas dryer installed and delivered by Lowes. After they installed it I noticed a gas smell coming from the unit. I called Lowes again and had them send out an installer to double check and they said it was fine. Still the has smell persisted. This time I went on google to find an independent gas installer to triple check the install. I called This company based on the 5 star reviews. I told them the problem and they sent out a technician. He look at it and said it was fine. Said that smell was from residual gas and after a week or two it'll go away. Three weeks later and it still was smelling like gas but worse. I then called my natural gas provider and told them the problem. They had a tech out in 10 minutes and he had a meter. Said the installation hose was not tightened correctly and that's what was causing the issue. He tightened it and the smell went away instantly. I called Advanced home services to inform them that the tech falsely led me to believe the problem was fixed and something worse could have happened bc of that. I called to simply ask for the refund of 95.00 and the rep, Tasha or something, was terrible and was yelling at me. Saying that she wouldnt refund the fee and that I called them and they are not a gas installer. I said why did you tell me that over the phone she said it's not our problem. I just hung up. Ive learned in life it's easier to not argue with a fool as it gets you upset. My warning to you is dont bother with this incompetent company. I gave them the chance to fix the issue before posting a negative review and they failed miserably. I had work done on my AC unit March 8th. The tech stated he made multiple repairs and bypassed my dryer. Needless to say it started leaking again, which it's old I understand. So I contacted the company numerous times asking for detailed work order of repairs done. They said they were unable to provide this to me. I had another company come out and the dryer they stated the removed had not been removed or bypassed. I was also told the R22 refrigerant needed was very hard to come by, I got charge 1500$ for 9lbs. The other company got it directly from United for 150$!!!? Yes, you have to be certified to purchase it, but wow price gouging. I'm really just disgusted with not only the price I paid, but also the poor customer service. Showed up in a timely manner gave me an estimate, got on their schedule for a couple days later as they knew I had a time crunch. The day of the job showed up with 3 trucks and 4 guys ready to get it done. Repiped my whole house in just a few hours. Was very respectful of my house and made the least amount of mess as possible. The job came in less than the estimate and I could not have been happier!!!!! They did an Awesome Job!! I highly recommend Advanced Heating and Plumbing for all your household needs. BEWARE!! Guy was there 30-40 minutes roto rooted the toilet and charged $720!!! Then my son had to go catch him to come tighten the toilet. I expected $300-400 but $720. That is soooo wrong . Called for service and the technician obviously tried to sell a new system. His sales pitch was full of statistics and technical talk. He was emphatic that a simple repair was a waste of money and a new system was the best, smartest and most cost effective remedy. Inspection and diagnosis took a few minutes and the sales pitch was much longer. He was unable to restart the A.C.. He called for a second technician to replace the blown breaker. Tech #2 did not have the part. Next day, Tech #3 promptly replaced the breakers and charged the system that is now working perfectly. So, which technician does a customer believe? There is a huge variation of skill levels among techs at this company. There was an obvious attempt to make a big sale that was not required. I will not call Advance for future needs. read more

This is absolutely the worst company and worst service I've ever dealt with!!!!!! New ac installed with them in May 2019. 3 months after install ac broke down due to the line not being flushed out with install (so they say)! In total since installing my new ac it has broken down 5 times. After the third time it broke down I purchased thier service plan just to have no one come to service it. I called 9 months after I purchased the service plan and they claim they have no record of it. Now it's July and once again my ac has broken down. I called 3 time and all three times I'm given a different time estimate of when someone will come out. They are rude and argumentative and when I finally had enough and raise my voice out of frustration from being lied to I'm threatened by the manager that I'm being recorded!!!!!!!! Warning record every phone call with every person in that company!!!!! They are rude condescending and frankly unprofessional. I had to listen to the manager Charlie make every excuse under the book for his technitions bad attitude and then threaten once again to record our conversation when I get frustrated with his lack of diplomacy. I ended up hiring another ac company that recognized the problem in 20 minutes of looking into the ac. Bad wiring on install causing my mother board to burn out!!!!!!! Advanced Air takes no responsibility at all claiming they are only there to install a product and after that they are not responsible for the unit just a middle man between the customer and the manufacturer of the ac unit. I'm getting ready to rent my house and under no circumstances would I depend on this company. I definitely plan on looking into my legal rights in this situation. They installed my new Lennox A/C right around a year ago. We bought their extended maintenance warranty and are totally dissatisfied with their service. It is June in Florida, our A/C went down 5 days ago, we called them 5 days ago and they have still not made it out to my house. They just called and pushed the appointment to tomorrow. they have become the worst since being bought out. they tell you your warranty includes parts bit not labor yet they charge you 5-10x labor costs of comparable companies to more then cover the "free" part. for example I had them price labor to replace compressor and they were $3380 when others were $400. to replace coil they said $3400 when was just $500 through a competitor. they gouge people, specially older people as Ive met several swindled customers. very sad and should lose their license for predatory business practices and inflated pricing. stay away from them if you know what's good for you read more

We've been customer for 11+ years. Called for service (maintenance, no issues) tech came out & commented tha/ my unit wouldn't last much longer. Went outside and told me unit wasn't working and it was either a $860 sensor board & if that didn't work we needed an entire new unit. He left and the outside breaker was flipped off, turned it on and haven't had an issue yet!! SCAM!! Trying to sell us a unit at thousands of dollars that we didn't need. read more

Installed a Daikin unit for me in 2014. Daikin has a warranty. Advance is no longer a Daikin dealer. I tried for a week to set up a service call to no avail. When you call this company you speak to a scheduling person, you can not get to the owner or a supervisor. I'm not sure if ownership has changed hands but this doesn't seem to be the same people who sold and installed the unit, same name, same phone number but not at all responsive and not truthful. They said they had scheduled an appointment with my tenant but they had not. I would not recommend Advance for any service. read more

ADVANCED AIR IS NO LONGER A LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED BUSINESS. When my conditioning went out on Friday, August 6, 2021 I called Advanced Air and Heating who I purchased my system from. I also purchased a 10 year service contract for all labor and parts. I had a prompt visit from a service technician who diagnosed a leaking evaporator coil which is located within my air handler. The technician made a good appearance, etc. The bad news was a 4 week wait for the part due to Covid 19, etc,. He also told me that I might want to consider replacing the total system due to the 4 week wait and approximated 8 1/2 years age on my system. This was late on a Friday afternoon and by that time it was too late to call anyone else Here in Florida August is a terrible time to be without AC. I made it through the weekend with the use of multiple fans, ETC . Due to having 1 1/2 years remaining on my parts and labor service contract I decided I did not want to pay around $7,000 or so for a new system. Monday morning I started an internet search for the needed part. I had very good luck when I contacted Servair of Edgewater, Fl. Within 30 minutes they located the needed part and it was installed before noon on Tuesday, the next day. Excellent service from their office staff and a very personable and qualified technician. My system is cooling better than ever. I hope it lasts another 1 1/2 years. Systems located beach side here in Florida generally last 8 to 10 years. Advanced Air and Heating while locally owned and operated was a very good customer oriented business. The story about a 4 week wait in order to sell a new system is totally unacceptable. read more

AWFUL!!! Going on almost 2 weeks with no air!!! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I purchased a unit still under warranty from Advanced Air. Advanced has now come out on 4 different occasions and has done everything BUT replace the exact part which will solve the issue. We are told it was really something else causing the problem, and the technicians come our and say its "fixed" when it really isn't. I am going on 12 days without AC because of Advanced. The technician that came out two days ago even said it was the TXV valve and they have yet to even order the part according to another NEW technician last night. We are still without air, many many sleepless nights with my three year old sweating all through the night running on no sleep because of their neglect and lack of customer service or knowledge. The reason I cannot go through my usual technician is due to the warranty and being a specific Lennax part that only Advanced supposedly has. I would NEVER recommend this company EVER! On October 7th 2021 I had a Lennox 2-ton 16 seer air conditioning system installed in my home by Advanced Air and Heat services (also dba Advanced Home services) and have continued to maintain this unit with them. It came with a 2 yr. parts and labor warranty and a manufacturer's warranty for 10 years. On June 29th 2023 I noticed that the ac unit was continually tripping the breaker and contacted them on the 30th for a repair tech. Repair technician responded on July 2nd and notified me that the compressor had a hole in it and would need to be replaced. I called Advanced Air on the 5th, 7th and 10th of July to check on the status and confirm that the parts were ordered. Around the 2 weeks mark I did receive a call back from their parts department who advised that the compressor had been ordered and that it shouldn't take that long. Since then, I have called on July 24th, 31st, August 1st, 9th, 23rd, September 4th, 11th, twice on the 19th and on the 20th all with the promise of a call back from the parts department which never happened. I contacted Lennox directly on September 19th 2023 who advised me that NO warranty claim has been filed for my AC unit. I had another company come to my house to re-diagnose the problem with the hope of getting this unit repaired only to find out that The Labor warranty is with Advanced Air only and that I would have to pay the Labor cost of $3300.00 or buy another system. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt especially regarding back order and supply issues but it has finally sunk in that this company, evidently, has had NO intention of complying with their contractual agreement regarding the warranty for this AC unit. So I HIGHLY DON'T RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR AIRCONDITIONING NEEDS. I have since filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney Generals office because upon further enquiry Advance Air and Heat are repeat offenders where this type of issue exists. read more

Our AC stopped working on a Friday night. I called and they gave me a time for Saturday, noon-2pm. Spent the night in a hotel - too hot to stay in our home. Tech called before 10am saying he's at the house. Rushed to get there and he got right to work. Started checking obvious problem areas, eliminating possible causes. After finding the outside drain pipe (buried under mulch), he had me wait outside watching the pipe while he went inside to blow out the pipe. He had already cleaned the overflow sensor. He blew it out and all kinds of clear sludge came out. A few minutes later cool air came out of the vents!!! Awesomeness! He explained that the sensor kept shutting it off. I figured we were going to have to fork out big bucks on an AC only 12 years old, in a home we just moved into. Definitely recommended!!! THANKS! My family home in New Orleans had one HVAC company since it was built in 1953, an excellent company, 3rd generation owners. Advanced Air Home Services of Edgewater is fine for a/c work, but it is horrible for plumbing. They charged me $1350 to put in a shower valve (this took about 3 1/2 hours and they didn't use copper!) and refused to do the drain. My contractor was livid! Even the county inspector said the job was way over priced and should have been less than $500! Another company did the drain (the hard part) and they charged $225!! read more

Pleasantly Surprised! Several weeks ago the AC went out and I called these guys. It was a Saturday but they were out in a few hours. The tech had to replace the main fan on the compressor as it went out. The price? I thought it was high but I really had no other immediate options. He had some difficulties but eventually got it done for the quoted price. He then went on and cleaned things up, checked the freon, etc. Very thorough so I felt better. Two weeks later on Labor Day the unit went out again. It was vibrating so hard the compressor outside walked it's way off it's concrete pad. The sent someone out within four hours. He replaced the fan on the new motor, repaired some elect parts that shorted out and braced the fan motor better. No charge! When I go to replace that old unit, they are the first on my list to call. read more

STAY AWAY from this company. I was a long time customer with them when they were family owned and operated. They were sold to a corporation (I think they are on third new owner) and the service is HORRIBLE. You only speak to someone that works at a call center (often rude with little knowledge or care of your predicament) who submits your ticket to the scheduler (again, rude more often than not) and seen by a technician whose sole job is to tell you that you need a new part that is on back order and that your only solution is to buy a new unit. I bought Daikin units from them in 2019 along with extended parts and labor warranty -- they now only use Lennox, so if you have an issue like I did this week (AC not cooling) they will send a tech out to tell you that your coil is bad and the part can't be located. The suggestion? Buy a new Lennox unit. I was also told by my technician that the parts department, on the off chance they could locate the coil, would call me back the next day. I've never heard one word from them since. Thankfully, I got a second opinion: coil is FINE, leak outside that was a quick fix with a blowtorch. Horrible company. They should be reported to the BBB. read more

First, the office personnel who scheduled and later confirmed the appointment were friendly and polite. I later requested to change the date. The office called, verified the new date I requested, changed it, and later confirmed it again. Advanced Air technicians showed up on time on this warm Friday morning and ready to work. I was taken aback by how young they appeared, however, they quickly demonstrated they were quite capable. Matt H. came to the door first. He politely introduced himself and coordinated the parking so that it was easiest and convenient for them and for me. He stated a second vehicle was coming. The second vehicle arrived moments later. Matt worked on the air handler, a second gentleman worked on the outside unit, and a third gentleman helped both, installed the thermostat in the house, and took care of the work in the electrical panel. These three gentleman worked quickly, quietly, nonstop, and with purpose. They thoroughly answered any questions or concerns I voiced until I was completely satisfied and comfortable. They clearly took pride in their work, even made sure it was cosmetically done right. They cleaned up the site, billed the agreed upon price, asked if I was satisfied, and were gone as quickly as they came. I was impressed. I would absolutely recommend Advanced Air & Heat. read more

I called to have a furnace repair done and was told it could be done that day. The tech came out and didn't have the parts. Perhaps I am missing something, but if you're coming to do a furnace repair and your business is furnace repair, I don't see how you could not have the parts to do the job. I was told they would need to come back the following day with the appropriate parts to complete the repair. I was charged an $85 service call and did not get my furnace repaired. Our AC went out after a power surge a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night. A gentleman from Advanced came out quickly on Sunday when we called, and diagnosed it as needing a new blower motor. $500 later, we were up and running on Monday. Over the next two days, the unit ran non-stop and the temperature wasn't dropping to where the thermostat was set, so my husband finally called again to have someone come out. This time, the diagnosis was it needed the coil replaced. We were quoted $1400 to repair it, or it was suggested we replace the entire six year old unit for $3200 given the cost of repair. We went with option C - call for a second opinion. Called another local company, who simply cleaned the coil thoroughly for $100 and we've been smooth sailing ever since. I called Advanced upset because I felt we were trying to be up sold, which made me question whether the original repair was necessary. I was transferred to Brandon (not sure if he is a manager or the actual owner). To his credit, he listened to all of my issues and did everything he could to remedy them. He explained that after speaking with his technician, the gentleman was supposedly explaining to us that the cost of the coil replacement plus the $500 we had already paid would come to $1400, although that was definitely not what the technician told us. He offered to pay for the cost of the coil cleaning, but I really wasn't looking for any kind of handout; I just wanted to vent my frustration. Ultimately, he said he wanted to compensate us in some manner because their reputation is important and he didn't want me to walk away with a bad taste in my mouth. Since the other company's technician told me I had overpaid for the blower motor by a couple hundred dollars, I said maybe $150 back might be nice? Brandon said he would actually give us the entire $200, and sure enough the refund showed up only two or three days later. So, I would say this much... If you're not very handy (such as myself), always get a second opinion, regardless of who you call. All in all, I think this was more of an issue of miscommunication, and the company did what the could to make it right. So while initially I would have written a one star review out of anger, I'm giving them four for their integrity. Not bad guys, but like any company there's always room for improvement in certain areas. read more

Our condo HOA refused to pay for the repair, even though they are legally obligated to pay. The company billed us, we called them twice to make payment arrangements while we get this worked out with our HOA. No one returned our call. We charged the total amount due, but they placed a lien on our property- even though we paid! What terrible customer service! Will tell everyone NOT to use this company. read more

So disappointed with the customer service from the manager Jason. Thanks to this company I was without air for a week as they didn't tell me that they would not be able to be the ones to fix the problem before cutting my lines. Did not seem to care that I as a customer who had already spent money with them on upgrades and was looking toad a service agreement was unhappy. Jason was extremely unconcerned about me being put out by this situation they had caused. Will never use this company again.
