Absolute Nightmare - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. This has been, without a doubt, the most frustrating consumer experience of my entire life. The "Service" (or lack thereof): We had a technician come out and repair our fridge. We got charged way over $1,000.00 for a replacement part - just to realize that the problem was not solved. After various additional visits, the technician gave up - and said there is no solution. At that point we (of course) asked for a refund. That's when the 'service' stopped. Entirely. The Phone Hell: Trying to get an update is a full-time job. I have spent a combined total of over six hours on hold with this company. When--and if--someone finally picks up, they are rude, dismissive, and constantly refer to a 'manager' (who is NEVER available, and ALWAYS in meetings...) needing to weigh in. Twice, I was "accidentally" disconnected after waiting 45 minutes. To call this frustrating does not even begin to cover the agony (and waste of time). The Stalling: Every time I actually get a human on the line, the story changes. Every call ended with "We will do this by tomorrow." or "You will hear from us by next week." or "My manager will call you back this evening." None of those things actually ever happened. It was blatantly obvious they are just stalling to keep the money without doing the work. It took us WEEKS to finally get our money back. The Verdict: Save yourself the headache, the wasted time, and the money. Do not go into business with them. Find literally anyone else.

Steer clear. I used them in 2020, and the technician did not explain that spending $250 on a part…read moremight not actually fix the problem. We didn't realize that until he left and the problem persisted. They sent me a survey so I filled it out and the company (corporate) called me and refunded my money. I left that experience feeling like they made good on a not great experience. Fast forward 6 years later and I make an appointment for a repair. No one showed up at the allotted time. So I called and left a message with my name and phone number. The next day I get an email from the local office saying I was blocked in their system as someone they would not work with. I want to clarify that this was not because of anything other than my (legitimate) feedback on a survey and the company calling me and offering to issue a refund and agreeing that the technician did not do what he should have done. There was no altercation, no words exchanged, literally nothing negative between us and the company or technician at all. In the end, this is clearly for the best, but the unprofessionalism all around is disappointing.

As I get older, I find that everyone that has been taking care of things for me is also aging…read more From doctors to dentists to barbers to favorite waiters, I keep stumbling over someone else who has up and retired. (How rude!) So it was, this time, with my reliable appliance guy that has been working on things for me for decades, and my dad's appliances even before that. Apparently he likes Florida. And with a busted ice maker, I found myself scrambling to find a new, reliable appliance repair person. Thank goodness for Yelp! After scanning reviews I found CK Appliance Repair. CK was very professional. The technician came out and took a look, and took the time to confirm that there was nothing simple that could be done to repair the unit. He checked online for the part and ordered it from a source in Louisiana, and scheduled the follow-on appointment to install it. I was given a price that was higher than I would have guessed but not outrageous. The installation appointment went well, as well. The technician not only did the job but pointed out a few things that needed attention in the upcoming year or two. He also answered some questions for my planning purposes about additional jobs -- replacing an aging microwave and dishwasher, etc. Everything was done quickly, cleanly, and at the quoted price. I was happy. I will be calling them again.

Our dryer died. It…read morewas unexpected only because we expected the washer to go first. I spent hours looking at reviews, applying for a box store credit card, loading up my shopping cart with extended warranties and parts only to come to the very end where the box store indicated that the product I wanted could be delivered, but there was no professional installation available. Say what??? Everyone knows that if you don't have their installers handle the installation, the moment you try to use that extended warranty that you've purchased they will tell you, "the warranty was voided by the installer." NOPE, not going to happen. So I came on yelp. Appliances on Lakeside had great reviews, was local, and nearby. Couldn't ask for more. We walked into the store and were greeted immediately. Mr. Ray came over to help us. I explained that I was looking at their GE machines on-line and we wanted to purchase a washer and dryer. I went from the top-of-the-line to a "lower" model because I really didn't want all the bells and whistles (15 functions???? I need maybe 3 and no, I don't need wifi because honestly, I don't care if my wash is done - I'll move it to the dryer when I get to it). Mr. Ray looked up the machine I was interested in, and while it was going to take at least 3 weeks for delivery, the price was even less than what was on the show room model. I like less. The installation (professional!) along with the recycling of the existing is all one price. The parts (new hoses are a must) were less than the box store. The warranty (same amount of time and basically the same price) is actually BETTER than what the box store covers. I'm liking local. I like walking out of a showroom happy about my purchase.
