I got really sick in January 2024 with Severe Migraines, Severe Coughing, Respiratory Symptoms, Allergy Immunotherapy For 3 years constantly every week my son and I both and could figure out what it was, and several Allergy Medications, I also Fainted Twice! So we did some deep cleaning in our home and discovered that we had a Mold Issue. Contacted my Homeowner Insurance they sent out a HVAC Company this October the Technician immediately asked who installed your Furnace and HVAC system I said Sean at Northstar Heating & Air did back in August 2022 he said ma'am there are Code Violations and your Carbon Monoxide is not out back together I am going to have to shut off the Heat & Hot Water you all have Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in your Home and it has been for at least 2 years you all could have Passed Away " ! He said contact the Fire Department and Columbia Gas Right Away and get them both out here. I would also contact an Attorney. I am so sorry that this Negligence happened to you all. I had no reason to go into the Furnace area to look because I don't know what I am looking at. I am not a HVAC Specialist so I wouldn't no. Contacted Over 25 Attorneys the Statutes of Limitations in Virginia is 2 Years. So there was nothing that an Attorney could do for us. Contacted Northstar the Owner Sean says that I am lying and someone else came out and did it after him. I have pictures and proof & Emergency Room Documentation that states Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. BUYERS BEWARE. I HAVE REPORTED THIS COMPANY TO THE BBB. To get this repaired we had to pay another Company over $1,000 to fix this issue and we were without Heat & Hot Water for 2 Weeks. We had Our Air Ducts Cleaned Over $500. I also incurred a $3,500 Hospital Bill. Still have the Coughing at Night.

I came with a rush order for a large canvas; I'm been hunting for a reliable, local printer, and I…read morewas impressed with how quickly MinuteMan responded to my emails--especially when I had a rush order! Sadly, I learned they OUTSOURCE the canvas printing to another, unnamed company. Still, this was important, and they believed they could do a rush order and get the canvas to me in time to ship it via express mail overseas. Also, their quote price was shockingly in my price range! The canvas arrived early!. . .But despite talking extensively with MinuteMan, and adapting my files to ensure no errors with them for their press, there was OBVIOUS BANDING on the piece. Also; The outsourced company, a sign shop that does large scale printing, not only did they send a print with such issues, they mounted my canvas at an angle, making part of the black area appear on the canvas, and part of the image on the sides. There are also staples to the canvas that were not put in properly--They stick out and I learned this by hurting my hand when unboxing it; Since I prepaid, I had someone else pick up my order, and the person I sent was not knowledgeable about printing, or the piece, enough to realize there was an error. These errors all ensured I could not ship the piece the same day, or the next--and wouldn't arrive overseas in time. I am, understandably I hope, very hurt by these results, both to my hand and my career. I was beyond upset from all this, and while I was able to arrange to show in other ways, I decided to contact Minute Man and let them know what happened (In fact, much of this is from the email), thinking I wouldn't hear from them until Monday--and I was expecting to be told 'too bad', as I have met SO MANY print shops that do this. EXCEPT MINUTEMAN. They wrote back ASAP, apologizing, issuing a full refund, and letting me know they would be talking to the company they outsource their canvas through intending to get a refund for MinuteMan's acquiring their services! I know this one time, my print got messed up; But before that, I had customer service so good that, THAT is why I picked this company. One issue with prints of my work is moire, an effect you see when screen tones are printed and someone resizes the picture larger or smaller. The gentleman I worked with, Luke, helped me set up my print file so it was perfectly sized for canvas printing, including letting me send the piece over and letting me know if it looked good on their end: Despite this taking several emails, Luke put in the time, and moire? Was one thing my print DID NOT HAVE. Luke actually helped me set up the file *perfectly*, and frankly, I'm very impressed. I have had a lot of companies give me specifications or a template that still didn't work. Some have even changed their template or requirements listed on their websites after. Luke, however, was able to give me the exact specifications--and they were correct! I'm someone who needs a printer I can trust, and one who is local; I'm looking forward to getting my business cards done here, along with post cards, posters, greeting and holidays cards, notebooks--honestly they print so many things I need that I'm not sure I'll need another print shop. . .ever. They also do apparel, promotional items, and even custom items. I admit, this MinuteMan won me over, because who really wants to wait for their orders to come? With MinuteMan, they might do it fast, but the work they do gives you a smile that lasts. And unlike most print shops? They don't screw you over, are honest, and yes, their service is fast--Usually it's not a good thing to finish so fast, but this Minute Man is one I'm personally committing to; Their my go-to printer from this point on. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We have been using the Appliance Doctor for over 5 years on 4 apartments we own in the Fan area of Richmond. Key things we find working with him: - he is always very quick to respond to our inquiry / request - he is quick to get to our apartment(s) and perform the work - he let's us know the cost to repair or the cost to replace so that we can decide what the best course of action is. One time when we were having problems with a clothes washer & dryer and historically finding parts was an problem. For this one case, he told us he could get 2 parts and suggested we buy them both so that we had a spare. Sure enough in about a year we needed that part and he remembered that we had it in the basement and he installed it. That is a real partner - he works with us. read more

My LG dryer (DLE 1001W) stopped working. The Appliance Doctor was listed on the LG website as an authorized repair company. I messaged the Appliance Doctor on a Tuesday evening via the Yelp app after reading multiple reviews on Yelp and Angie's List. They were very responsive and upfront about service fee. A two hour window appointment was scheduled on Thursday morning. I received a call with a 30 minute notice prior to arrival. Danny was extremely polite and described exactly what the issue was and what they did to fix it. They even recommended someone to clean the vent pipe which caused our issue in the first place. The total cost was $200 to replace thermostat and thermistor. I highly recommend the Appliance Doctor. read more

My mind is blown. My washer isn't cycling properly, so I searched for a repair company online. I read good Yelp reviews for Appliance Doctor, so I called and left a message. He called me back 10 minutes later and when I described the problem, he immediately said, "buy a new washer." He could have made the appointment, charged me $80 for the service call and then told me that, but he was honest upfront and said it was a circuit board problem and I could get if fixed, but would have to spend $400-$500 to fix it. I'm so grateful for his honesty and integrity, and for calling me back so quickly. Responded within the hour of requesting a quote. Very knowledgeable, gave me his cell so that I could send him a video of the dishwasher leak I had. He quickly texted back and identified the problem, was willing to come and fix it (and would have made money on the job) but advised me against it since it was likely to recur and buying a new unit was not much more expensive. Our clothes washer also happened to be acting up the next day; I texted him about it and he identified the problem, gave me a reasonable price for repair, and was there the next morning. Met David with Appliance Doctor when we moved into our new home in 2017. Our new wine cooler wasn't working properly. Dave immediately picked up the phone and came out the same day. A week ago, now 2025, when replacing filter the water flew out of the frig. After 50 plus towels and Hanover coming out to turn off water to house, Called David again. He came out the next day. A bad filter and a new part. Today we again had to call David as the water is leaking from the bottom of the frig. David called me back and will be out today as soon as possible. This was the servicer authorized to do a recall repair on my dishwasher. He not only helped me resolve problems with the case number issued by the manufacturer, but managed to carefully extract and reinsert the dishwasher without damaging our new cork floor. Considering how tight the clearance was, this was a true miracle. He replaced the power box that was the issue, and pointed out how the original installers from the big box store where we had purchased the dishwasher had done sloppy work on the original electrical connection, which fortunately was fixed with the recall replacement parts. This man drove to my mother's home, and pushed a button on her dishwasher and charged her $165.00 She lives 10 mins from his shop. I called him and told him that I thought he took advantage of my mother and I didn't appreciate it, she is 80 years old and recovering from a stroke and she said to me " I knew this wasn't fair" but all I knew to do was pay it. I called for a non-critical (but annoying) repair to my refrigerator. They came the next day and found a much larger problem (not with the refrigerator) that was probably causing my refrigerator problem. They suggested I take care of the other problem first. They could have just done the refrigerator repair and not said anything, but they did the right thing for me. For one thing I called after 5pm and someone answered the phone! He was very polite when I inquired about setting up an appointment to fix my dryer. After answering a few simple diagnostic questions I was told it wouldn't be worth it in the long run to have my dryer repaired. I can't help but first say that this company is now (and forever) my go to people when it comes to our HVAC (and what they are able product and services they offer). I had gotten the referral from my boss and decided to go ahead and get my ticket in. I EMAILed them and they responded back within (or even less than) 30 minutes! Elizabeth was so helpful and friendly with my situation on the furnace and told me that one of their guys would be available to check it out and to give us an estimate of what their service would be to replace it. They were very accommodating with my schedule because I wasn't going to be available until after 3pm that day. Jesse was the person who came and checked out our "broken" furnace and to give us an estimate. Their communication was wonderful, Jesse texted me when he was 10 mins away. I was so sure our furnace was broken because we had two diagnostic done on the furnace to confirm that it was INDEED...broken. I told Jesse of our situation and what the results of the last two reviews. I s*** you not....he fixed it. We had freaking heat for the evening and the following week. Our gas furnace is about 20 years old and was told by two other companies that it was broken and needed to be fixed and maybe even the AC too! Jesse was so helpful explaining to me of what he found and fixed (and I actually understood him! haha). He was so professional and so helpful in our situation. Long review short - because of our furnace breaking down the first time and that we have an 8 month old, we decided to get it replaced. Both Elizabeth and Jesse from the company had great communications in helping us set up a date and answering any other questions that we may have had. We seriously got very lucky with finding these wonderful people and company. Anyways, they gave us a date and time. (Helped me out and) showed up earlier than expected to get started on the replacement. Their team was very friendly, professional, and funny to work/talk to. They replaced our furnace within a reasonable time and told me of what is to be expected on turning on a new furnace. Overall, my experience with this company for the past week has been very pleasant and gave me a peace of mind of my home. I could not have asked for anyone better. These guys will be replacing my AC once that gives in as well - haha. These guys are definitely a keeper and I would highly recommend this to anyone in the Glen Allen/Richmond area.
