Avoid this company at all cost. They were supposed to install a dishwasher we purchased. That's it. Their guy showed up and said the floor was too high and he couldn't get it to fit...which we knew wasn't true because it was the same dimensions as our old one. You just have to shimmy it in, that's literally it. After a week of back and forth with their office, we finally asked to speak with the owner which must have scared them because all of a sudden they told us they could install it and would send someone out. Welp. That day came and they never showed up. No phone call or contact from them whatsoever. We called multiple times and left a voicemail asking why they didn't show and when we could expect them to actually come install it. They never called back. Just radiosilence from them. I have never seen such unprofessional conduct from any company ever. So we called another company and they sent someone out the same day and installed the dishwasher without any issues whatsoever. DO NOT USE! The first time the technician visited he claimed to have fixed the issue with our dishwasher not fully washing the dishes. We tested it and still had the same issue, so they put some parts on order. We waiting another week for the parts to come in and for them to accommodate us into their previous schedules, and when the tech showed to install the parts he realized one of them was cracked because why would you want to ensure you have a quality part BEFORE going to the customer's house for install??? We let this slide even though it had been weeks at this point. They ordered a replacement for the 'new' part and another week went by. We were the morning window and tech called at 8am (they'd never come early the other times, and we needed a dishwasher so I had agreed to the 8-12 window, which they always showed up closer to 12). I asked if he could delay our stop until 8:45 or move us back in the day and he flat out REFUSED. THIS IS THE SAME TECH WHO DID NOT CHECK THE REPLACEMENT PARTS BEFORE COMING TO OUR HOUSE THE PREVIOUS TIME! I figured he would have given us a little grace considering the grace we showed him for his complete incompetence...I was wrong. I argued with him for a minute and said I'd call his office to which he said 'they can't tell me what to do' after previously saying 'the office makes the schedule.' Complete moron. The office was of no help, the grumpy lady who answers the phones could have cared less and told me to pound sand. We just decided to buy a new dishwasher and eat the $120 'service fee'. WHAT A JOKE! I used this company through my insurance. The first technician, Brandon, was nice with no issues on his service ( he also fixed our dryer in the past). The technician (Trey) that came out to repair our dishwasher twice (same reason never fixed) was very rude and aggressive. I am a pregnant stay a home mother, dealing with a disrespectful man in my home all because I was asking simple questions about the dishwasher he claim was fixed. After quickly looking at it again the second appointment he said he did nothing to it, it was already fixed. I assured him it was not drying and that I just used it this morning. I asked a few questions about what could be wrong with it. He started to get an attitude saying he will order something for the rinse aid to see if that is the problem, but you aren't getting a new dishwasher- which seems to me he's experimenting until he can actually fix it. Noticing his demeanor, I asked was there a problem for a customer to have a normal conversation with him about the service. It appears race seems to be an issue with him if I was nothing but kind to the man and he gave me disrespectful attitude in return. On top of that he was late to the appointment didn't bother calling, my husband called to see if he was still coming since it was after the timeframe scheduled. The first appointment he gave me weird vibes- very short , in and out, no conversation to what was done just claimed he fixed the dishwasher. Yet, we were still having the same issue- dishes not drying and white chalky residue on the dishes. Second time he really showed his true colors. He refused to give me a card with his name, his manager's contact information and a receipt of his visit. I am very disappointed in the service received today. I will be contacting my homeowner's insurance about this company, I have also reached out to the owner Chis. **Update** Technician lied on his report to insurance that dishwasher was already fixed from his last visit- reported his fraudulent report with them. Also no luck from the owner Chis, he will take no accountability for his employees actions, didn't even apologize for my experience. So it was, this time, with my reliable appliance guy that has been working on things for me for decades, and my dad's appliances even before that. Apparently he likes Florida. And with a busted ice maker, I found myself scrambling to find a new, reliable appliance repair person. Thank goodness for Yelp! After scanning reviews I found CK Appliance Repair. CK was very professional. The technician came out and took a look, and took the time to confirm that there was nothing simple that could be done to repair the unit. He checked online for the part and ordered it from a source in Louisiana, and scheduled the follow-on appointment to install it. I was given a price that was higher than I would have guessed but not outrageous. The installation appointment went well, as well. The technician not only did the job but pointed out a few things that needed attention in the upcoming year or two. He also answered some questions for my planning purposes about additional jobs -- replacing an aging microwave and dishwasher, etc. Everything was done quickly, cleanly, and at the quoted price. in March 2022 CK appliance assessed a problem with my dishwasher. After providing me a written quote I agreed to schedule the repair with them after the part came in. After he left, I realized he did not give me a copy of the invoice I signed which I provided my credit card number, security code and expiration date. When I requested a copy of the quote that I signed, they refused to give it to me until after they completed the work. Needless to say, this did not seem right to me. Any other reputable business would give you a copy of an estimate they provide you. I ended up having to close the credit card which they attempted to run a charge through, claiming they had my signature on the order. Other charges were attempted for Amazon purchases with the same card after I told them I did not want them to install the part. I agreed to pay the $80 diagnosis fee, but only with a check. They would not mail me an invoice to pay by check. Finally, he agreed to come back to my house and give me the invoice in exchange for the $80 check, which is what we did. This was the most unusual business practice I ever encountered with any small business. He lost the job and any possibilitiy of future business simply by not providing me a copy of what I signed. read more

If I could give a zero rating, I would. I've never left a review for a company in my life so this is clearly that bad. This was by far the worst experience I've had with an appliance company. They blatantly lied to my home warranty company by saying my appliance was "abused" and now I am without a dishwasher. Background: My dishwasher began was giving us an error code so my home warranty company selected CK Appliance Repair to address the issue. The owner, Chris, came out to repair the washer and after he did, the dishwasher leaked. This resulted in a flood and my hardwood floors were compromised to the point that they all had to be replaced. Chris came out after new hardwoods were installed and refused to properly test and diagnosis the dishwasher to insure it worked properly. The dishwasher is still leaking. The home warranty company is refusing to replace my appliance because Chris reported that the dishwasher was abused. My home is immaculate and nothing I own is torn up or "abused". We've used CK a few times. Chris, the owner, knows his stuff, was on time, polite/professional and direct. In my case, he ended up performing last rights on my washer. He could have packed up then and left, but stayed and helped on my search for a replacement. The most important thing he shared was why I should stay with the same brand (compatibility to stack). That alone may have saved me time/$ (as I doubt the hardware store attendant would have thought to ask and I can easily see buying another brand). It's rare you find a person as mature and knowledgeable as Chris, let alone someone his age running a successful business. read more

Dryer repair- $75 fee to assess problem that gets applied to repair if you choose to have repair done. We were scheduled three days out (bleh)- it was determined our timer was broken, the part had to be ordered and they'd come back within a few days to fix (ugh)- I was quoted $360 for the repair! Whoa! I ordered the part on Amazon w/extra speedy shipping and paid $104, probably around what they would have had to pay for it. Got the part before we heard back from them and wife (who knows just a little more than nothing) installed it in five minutes! **They were going to make $250 bucks off of me for maaaaaybe half an hour of work total. Oy. Would not recommend, gave two stars for telling us (for $75) what was wrong with the dryer. read more

A lesson in economics- 3+ Year Old Dryer-CK Appliance replaced dryer heater(?) Both the technician Zack and the owner Chris were courteous. They could not come out fast enough and replaced a component in record time. However, I was informed that the circuit breaker was bad and that I would be needing an electrician to complete the job. So...still no dryer. I located an electrician who came out found the circuit breaker working to spec. and that the problem was dryer related. The electrician was able to fix the dryer to complete the job and I was charged a second time. Chris stood by his tech. as he should. I received no compensation for the incorrect diagnosis and the similarities between my experience and others on this site are that a second contractor was needed to complete the work order. The cost to complete the job not including my time approached the cost of a new dryer. Very unfortunate and clearly CK Appliance Repair is too rich for my blood. read more

CK Appliance came to my home on 8/1 for a dishwasher repair and identified an issue that they indicated would cost over $900 to fix and was a typical problem with the manufacturer's dishwasher. When I spoke to the manufacturer, they agreed to send me the parts and CK Appliance agreed to install. They typically don't like to install parts that customers purchase, but agreed to as the manufacturer sent them to me for no charge. The parts arrived and CK appliance came on 8/22 and only installed 1 of the parts, saying the 2nd wasn't needed. They 'tested' the dishwasher for a few minutes and declared "unit working properly". When I ran the machine after dinner that night (8/22), the machine stopped after less than 10 minutes with the same error as before. When I called to have them come look at it again, they will not come as 'they only installed the parts', despite the fact that they confirmed the parts that were ordered before coming, didn't install both parts, and the dishwasher did not even work for a full cycle after they left. read more

Haul away was included with the refrigerator I purchased from another company, but when that company came, they said they couldn't remove my Viking built-in. I called CK late morning and they were there at 2:30 the same afternoon. The job was a big one and potentially dangerous (the refrigerator is a useless monster), but they did it with skill and good humor. They were careful to avoid any damage and gave me advice on installation of the new refrigerator. The price they charged was more than reasonable for the work they did. My washer stopped working so I went online looking for a repair company. I'm so glad I found CK! They came quickly and arrived on time. Brandon was knowledgeable, professional and personable. He diagnosed the problem quickly and installed a new part to fix it. Unfortunately, something else was broken on the machine that he explained would be very expensive to fix. Since the washer was 15 years old, I told him I would probably buy a new one. That's when he told me he wouldn't charge me for the part he had installed because it didn't fix the problem. I contacted CK Appliance Repair after accidentally dropping a sock down my dryers vent. My attempt to fish it out didn't work and it was time to get a professional. I was able to get an appointment at my desired time frame/day (same week as my original call) which is always a plus. My tech called me about 20 minutes before arriving, was professional and managed to get the sock out (which had somehow hooked itself on a small nail in the back of the dryer near the fan). The cost was presented upfront and he explained what he was doing as well so I could understand. This was my first time calling for appliance repair and I was really pleased. We called CK Appliance Repair regarding a GE refrigerator water dispenser that wasn't producing water and ice. Their service is exceptionally professional, courteous, thorough, fast - and reasonable. Our appointment was scheduled on a Tuesday and Chris called ahead to let us know he was on his way. He explained what the problem might be, but first recommended an inexpensive way for us to fix it on our own for minimal dollars and what it would take if that didn't work. The quick fix didn't do the trick because a part was broken, so Chris was back the following Tuesday to retest the frig and order the part (it came in the next day) and by Thursday we had water and ice again! I had CK Appliance Repair out to service a dryer. The technician replaced the thermal fuse on the blower housing, started the dryer to confirm it worked and then left. On the next load, the dryer stopped working. For the next service appointment two days later, the owner, Chris arrived 90 minutes earlier than the scheduled appointment, was rude asserting that he was squeezing me in to do me a favor, and ended up leaving the house without fixing the unit, blaming me for the failure. I used CK Appliance Repair for the first time yesterday. I started preparation for my daughter's birthday dinner at 9 am and found that the oven I thought was preheating for her cake was not working. We have a 10 year old free standing Viking gas stove. I did a quick google search and found 2 repair services that had good reviews, CK Appliance Repair being one of the 2. Lucky me, Chris was heading out on another job that would take him in my direction and agreed to come over. He cleared the cost of problem diagnosis with me on the phone, which I appreciated. Chris called to give me a heads up that he was on his way, which I always love. He diagnosed the problem quickly, located the necessary parts (he had one on his truck but we needed 2 for our type of stove) and gave me an estimate, got the part and had me up and cooking in less than 2 hours. He also offered advice on how to keep our gas burners in good repair, which is something we had struggled with previously. CK Appliance Repair gave us an accurate diagnosis and estimate and repaired our stove quickly. Chris was polite and professional. I will definitely use Chris and CK Appliance Repair again and recommend him to others. read more

This was probably more my fault than anything but this company is borderline dishonest so they deserve the rating. I've actually had them come look at my appliance years ago and I remember being disappointed that they were unable to figure out what was wrong with it and still charged me the $75. I had forgotten that this was the same company until I dealt with the same tech this time around and remembered his name. (By the way, I suspected it might have been the same company prior to making my appointment so I asked them to look it up and they left me a message saying that they were here in 2015 but didn't say for what and when I left them a message to ask what they were here for that year to narrow it down, they never called back.) My experience was no different this time around. I asked them to fix an install that was made by another company where they placed wooden shims under the appliance to fit into the space and left the unappealing shims sticking out from under the appliance along with white insulation peeking through the sides of the appliance. I communicated this clearly to the scheduling person and mentioned that the wood might need to be cut or removed and insulation hidden or removed (but I'm no appliance expert). It was only after I paid the $75 that they told me they don't even deal with wood let alone cut it and there was nothing they could do to fix the appearance of the install. Oh, and I emailed them photos of the install a week prior and asked them if they are able to fix the appearance of the install (it was obvious which parts were unappealing but they argue I never asked them to cut the wood in the email) So what exactly did I pay for? Nothing. I paid for my mistake, that's what. It was really my mistake to expect a company to actually strive to satisfy their customer and actually be honest and upfront about what they are able to do and not do and charge fairly for what they did do. Now I'll be paying another $100 for a handyman, whom I should have called from the start had I been told initially that they don't deal with wood and want nothing to do with it. read more

Like the previous reviewer, I had a gas oven that refused to light. Chris came over the same day and replaced the igniter in 30 minutes. Then I asked him about our gas log fireplace insert and, while he admitted he doesn't work on these, he took a look at it and showed me what the problem was, something I can correct myself. As an extra added bonus, he showed me what to do when the burners on the stove top don't light or are slow about it. It takes 10 seconds to cure the problem, but it's a trade secret and he was so nice that I'm not going to give it away. Anyway, this young man was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and not expensive.
