Mike said he could rebuild the valve, and the cost would have definitely been under $200 for parts and labor. Because it was the weekend, I had the time, I found the parts, and fixed it so I didn't actually use his services. His competitors are running a racket. I appreciate his honesty. After being soured against another local plumber (leak after their repair and not even willing to discount the follow up service needed), I will definitely be calling Clover/Mike for my next plumbing need.
