Since our PGE bills have been quite high when we run our AC, I wanted to find someone to inspect our unit. I had gotten a coupon from Grimes Heating and Air for a free inspection so I gave them a call. Scott came out right on time to our home and blew me away with the meticulous time he spent inspecting everything and telling me what he was finding. He cleaned out around the condenser with his shop vac, opened the unit in our garage to clean it and inspect it, he showed me several places where we could save money by using insulation here and there, and then he used equipment to test how the system ran. The condenser was quite low on refrigerant so he added it and would go check the temperature of the air coming into our home after each time he added it until the system was working at its optimal efficiency. I was so impressed and grateful for the time he took to check and clean everything and then he didn't charge me a penny even when I offered to at least pay for the refrigerant. I will most definitely be calling Grimes Heating and Air to do a seasonal inspection from now on (that's how to make sure I don't run low on refrigerant again) and whole-heartedly recommend them to anyone looking for good, honest service! I called Grimes Heating & air and talked directly to Scott, he came out first to look at it and then sent one of his guys out to get a complete estimate of the job. It is for a rental I have in Kelly Ridge, I knew it needed a new air conditioning unit to replace the old out dated one that used the old type of refrigerant. He scheduled it and his guys came out and had it done in one day. They were very professional, started the job on time and as I said it was a rental and the tenant is a life long friend of our family, they scheduled the job around her time frame and treated her with respect. They were so polite and helpful my friend thanked ME for choosing them to do the job, plus the price was well below what I had been told it would be to replace the unit by others. The entire experience was a good as it could be from beginning to end. Our central heat and air unit stopped working and was unrepairable. We had several bids and selected Grimes Heating and Air because they were very friendly, they gave me financing options (and helped us through the entire process), and had the best price. Scott was actually interested in getting us the best value for our money rather than trying to up-sell us on fancier machines or duct work we didn't need. The moment the financing was a go Scott had his crew were at our place at 8:00a the following day and they worked on the installation until it was finished and working correctly. In the following few days the duct test was performed and passed and the final inspection was performed and passed. I checked our smart thermostat before traveling home from camping and our house was 93 degrees despite being set at 82. I called Grimes in hopes that we could get on the schedule soon. The ladies were very helpful and understanding of the situation. They were able to get us on the schedule for that afternoon! By the time we got home it was 97 in the house (110 outside). Andrew the tech arrived early in the 2 hour window and had the problem diagnosed before even looking at the unit. He showed me the process of testing and had it fixed within a few minutes. He hung around for a while and checked to be sure the unit was in fact cooling. Talked me through some education that would help our unit in the future and made sure I knew I could call again if there were any further issue. Thank you so much! Everything is superb with this company. They totally surpassed all my expectations. I called them during the Wall Fire incident. They were still able to come out within 2 days even though they had to deal with road closures and driving extra distance. Gabby, Rebecca, Scott and Shannon were all fantastic when it came to customer service. Scott took the extra time and effort to explain and show us what was wrong and how to avoid it in the future. They even put our ladder back and cleaned up all the insulation that fell out of the attic in my closet. I am totally surprised and pleased. Not all companies would have done that. Excellent customer service! We had a blown transformer and its summer! No bueno. After calling a few places (they said we would be on a waiting list) we tried Grimes Heating and air. They sent out someone within a few hours. We found out it was a blown transformer, the next day the part was ordered. Within an hour the part was installed, we had a new thermostat and the A/C was on:) lightning fast process considering its summer and these company's are usually crazy busy. Excellent Company! Our air conditioner was having cooling problems and working intermittently. My husband called two other companies, scheduled them to come out and check it - neither could figure out the problem, we were told we had to replace the unit!
