This practice is more about maximizing insurance claims. And, less about my oral health. They make feel like no more than wallet with teeth. I had been a patient for many years. In the past, their superfluous claims were targeted at insurance companies. I was told on several occasions that my insurance max had not been reached and, I should schedule more dental work. Even though I didn't need more dental work. I was always uncomfortable with this approach. I was just too lazy to seek out a new provider. Lately, those extraneous services are costing me real dollars. In their defense, the unnecessary procedures are indeed performed. And, the workmanship is adequate. Showed up today for my 11:30am appointment. I paid for my fillings and was told to be seated they'd be with me shortly. I was called back up to the front and told that the dentist was "heavy in a dental implant procedure", and wouldn't be able to see me. I made an appointment as a new patient on Monday. I am new to the area and had last seen my previous dentist about 6 months ago. I told them at the time that I have a chipped tooth that I am concerned about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On Tuesday, I was called twice concerning my insurance coverage. I gave them my insurance provider and my I.D. number and the phone number from the back of my card. As I didn't receive another call back, I assumed the issue was resolved[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon arrival at my appointment time today, I was informed that the front desk staff had not arrived yet. When someone did arrive a few minutes later, he told me that they were still unable to verify that they could accept my insurance[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. He said he could tell that I have standard dental insurance, but that he didn't know if I had further coverage for X-rays and other procedures, which I do, and I told him that. He said he could have someone see me today for an examination, but they would then have to schedule another appointment for treatment. I declined to pay for 2 appointments with no service provided at the first appointment and left. I wish I could give zero stars. DO NOT TRUST THEM. I needed a dentist that would be easy for my 80 year old mother to find and the Rudy location seemed fine, and so I scheduled her and changed myself there to make it easy to get her to her appointments. Our mistake was trusting them to be ethical, but after many questionable extra cleanings and procedures that seemed like a lot (maybe even putting too much stress on her dental work) - she had a crown breakoff and they sent us to the Okalona office for an extraction. They charged her upfront almost $200 for the extraction and took her back for the procedure. Only then did they ask what medications she was on. Over an hour later they refused to do the extraction once they found out she was on Fosamax and sent her away to get clearance. We spoke to her Doctor and found out that she would need to be off Fosamax for 3-6 months before she could have the work done. I called and asked for the Dentist to call me to discuss (she never did). Fast forward a few more weeks and I get a mystery bill for almost $300. I had gone in for a filling in April and while in the chair, they talked me into a crown instead saying they had checked my insurance and gave me a quote that I agreed to. The bill I received almost doubled that amount and I would NEVER have agreed to the crown at that amount and would have taken my chances with a new filling. When I called to question it they said that sometimes happens with no other explanation or apology. Very crooked. At this point I knew we did not want to do any more business with this company and asked for a refund for my mother's extraction that never happened. They offered to refund her only a little more than $100 for dental work that NEVER HAPPENED. Essentially stealing from her. Run, do not walk, run away from this dental practice. read more

I, Was in pain after being punched in the mouth last year to have multiple teeth removed on one side. TO the other side having teeth removed and a bridge put in and still feeling pain and finding out the bridge was to tight and multiple fracture`s from the last dental office, from putting in my Bridge. Advanced Dental Center on Preston Highway did a denture realignment for my husband. They requested $800 up front stating that it wasn't covered by my insurance. After researching through my insurance provider, it was in fact covered at 50%. We called the office to discuss this with them, and they said they didn't bill the insurance because "it's not typically covered." I made them bill the insurance and my portion was to only be $370, per my EOB. It took forever to get my money refunded, and even then they refused to refund all of my money back, saying that the EOB was "incorrect." After numerous calls to their office, speaking with billing and even their office manager Mark, being fed nothing but lies, I will not get the rest of my money back from them, nor will I ever go there or recommend anyone else go there. Please double check your bills and EOBs, they will steal your money and lie!!!! read more

Worst practice, do not waste your time or money. I had to go to another dentist to have them fix their problems. It's extremely hard to get ahold of managers and when I did she kept cutting me off when I was trying to explain my frustration with everything. Making it extremely difficult to talk and stay calm. I would just recommend doing your research and looking at reviews, because now after reading them, I'm not the only person who ended up having to get a root canal and a crown after their poor practice. I've never had such bad tooth sensitivity and never had to pay for someone to fix their own mistake. Of course they blamed me for the reason I needed a root canal after they "fixed" my tooth for what they said was a simple cavity. They also "fixed" it again before the root canal. So a year later sent me another bill saying insurance didn't cover a portion of it, so I'm paying for their mistakes and negligence. So please read other reviews before you decide this place. Long story short they still got my money because it was like talking to a wall whenever you did get ahold of someone. They care more about the dollar signs instead of the patients. So it seems like this business needs the money more than me I guess. read more

The worst clinic in the Nation, telling everything I experienced in this place would be endless, it would be better to express it in a single word: Scammers!!! They gave me several fillings in two days, December 21 and 28, 2023, after that in two teeth I started with pain that went up to my ears, I went on January 11, 2024 and in the Doctor's examination it came out that the fillings of those two teeth had to be reopened and done again, as it was a poorly done job that day I didn't care. they got paid; After that the pain has continued and he called to see me again on January 18, 2024; But since that day I was still in pain, I called to avoid manipulating the pain area again, I changed the appointment for today, January 23, 2024 and when I arrived at the clinic they told me that I had to pay a fee of 40 because I did not attend. On the 18th, I explained to them that that day I sent an email and spoke with someone who never told me about the fee, that the reason was the same teeth that had not been fixed properly, not understanding about it, I told them to take that fee from a credit that I paid 136 for a crown that I have never been able to get due to the pain and they tell me that it cannot be used because there is an insurance claim for the procedures on December 21 and 28, I explain that the 136 do not correspond to those procedures It is an advance money that I paid for something that was never done for me, the receptionists with a bad attitude, the manager also did not understand that I am really scheduling the appointments for something they did wrong, they are not new procedures, as I mentioned at the beginning the chain of bad attention They are long, on December 21 they left two separators in my mouth and I almost swallowed them at home, all these incidents of the separators and pain in my teeth that I have had checked are in emails that I have sent them read more

I did go back into office to pay bill and pick up X-ray and I was greeted very nicely with respect.

My husband was supposed to have a crown put on in April of 2019. Dr Talis put on temp crown and he called a few times to check when permanent crown would be in. The office staff said they would call him when it came in... He never got a call, then covid hit, they remodeled... And his temp crown came loose. He called and the staff never told him they did not have his crown. He explained the delays... They had no issue scheduling the appt to place the crown, but when he came in for the apot, they then told him they threw out his permanent crown because he did not come in. He said no one called him and they said it was his fault because he never called them. He did. They told him they would contact him. Then he was tokd that he would have to pay for another crown out of pocket and it would be over $1300! He never got the first one. They did not re-cement the temporary crown back on, instead, tried to get him to pay half of the new crown at the appt (whkch he did not). Ehen he tried to leave, they made an apot for a month later... I guess still hoping to sway him. Why would he even consider giving money to a dentist that doesnt feel bad about not fixing the situation? I am just wondering if they truly ordered his crown at all... Soooo. To start my review. I LOVE the dental workers. BUT. I spent 30 hours of my life on a phone FIGHTING with a woman named Hanna. On filing a dental code. 30 fing hours. After I already paid them $150 cash in advance. With her yelling and being angry I was inconveniencing her. Soooo, that being said I've waisted 30 hours convincing a child to file a dental code properly after telling her the code she was going to file was obsolete in 2013. Now you factor in my income without over time. The dentist not only owes me $120 for the piss poor filing of overcharging me plus interest, but $600 for my time. Or $900 for my over time let alone the Trama, of someone yelling at me, and telling me endless B's because she doesn't know how to do her job, and I have to be the liaison or else I owe $750,(for something that cost me $19,out of pocket) again because she can't file a FUCKING CODE. (July to August in calling none stop to resolve this) And they have some $400 hidden fee that they can't for some reason charge my insurance. Yeah, come with cash or don't come to this place at all. It took 5 fing minutes, once I finally got to go over her head to resolve my issue, and they could have had me for life. If only they didn't employee an insufferable bitch. That I can only presume is related to or banging the owner. read more

Ohh, the most advanced thing about this advanced center is its thirst for hard earned client's money. Those ladies have no shame to push down your throat services you even don't need. They charge discriminative prices depending on your appearance. They charge hidden hundred dollars fee without any explanation or documentation. Or, if you try to figure final procedure prices or nature of the fees, they get very polite with you, but you still end up robbed. Their services are average, but possibility to be f*ed is high. The staff and hygenists are very lovely ladies and I will always speak highly of them. However my experience with Dr. Timothy O'Shea was a whole other story. I went in and was assigned to him. I have been traumatized by men in the past and it took a lot of faith and courage on my part to trust this man. This took place over a year ago and since I'm so scared of men it has taken me this long to share my experience so he can't fail more people. He failed me and is the reason why I will NEVER again have a male take care of me medically. I had a cavity filled and was in PAIN after. For nearly three weeks I was sobbing myself to sleep only to sleep for 1 hour at a time before waking up to vomit from the pain and I considered suicide multiple times.I am not a suicidal person. For 432 hours I was in constant pain until finally I called and was only told to come in after I said NOTHING was taking the pain away and I have an extremely high pain tolerance. Dr. O'Shea blew air on the affected tooth and I seriously almost vomited. All I wanted was for him to fix the damage he had done. He suggested aspirin and I reminded him I was allergic to NSAIDs and they send me to the ER if I take them. He belittled and talked down to be like I was some type of junkie trying to get pain meds and waste his time. His only solution was "well I can do a root canal and I don't want to do one and I KNOW you don't want one." All I wanted was for the pain to go away and was willing to do any procedure to do so. He said this to me, shook his head, said he wasn't going to do anything for me because he couldn't and wouldn't and walked away from me. He left me crying in his chair while the hygenist tried to comfort me the best she could. I was 26 and you made me feel like a child. You treated me like some sort of low class junkie when I have NEVER done any sort of drug and made me feel like scum. Luckily the lovely ladies at mortenson dental in simpsonville were able to get me in the next day after you did this or I honestly would have ended my life due to the pain. Dr. O'Shea would you like to know what was causing me excruciating pain? IT WAS DUE TO YOU NOT FILING DOWN THE TOOTH ENOUGH AFTER MY FILLING. The most basic of things and you had immediately jumped to doing a root canal since you couldn't figure it out. You said the filling was sitting on a nerve and the x-rays over at my new dental office showed that was a LIE. It took 3 minutes to figure out what the issue was and my tooth was taken care of in less than 5 minutes. I hope you're embarrassed and you need to work on your bedside manner before you make another mistake and hurt someone else. read more

Today I went to Advanced Dental Center. I was having severe tooth pain since Thanksgiving. I was given several options on how they can repair the tooth. Due to my current insurance, some procedures were not covered so I chose to have the tooth extracted. It was a great experience starting with Bria the receptionist she was so sweet and kind. Cristy was the Dental assistant. She kept me calm and comfortable. She too is AMAZING. Lastly I have to shout out Dr Gilbert. She was sweet, kind, understanding and reassuring. She numbed my mouth and had the tooth out in about 4 minutes. I did not experience discomfort other than a slight "pinch" from the numbing needle. I will go to advanced dental for my dental needs from now on. If you are looking for honest, caring, gentle Dentist then this is the place to go. *they are accepting new patients* read more

My uncle, who is an elderly gentleman and is a foreigner to the US, went to see Dr. Talis for general exam and cleaning. After being x-rayed and examined he was given a huge list of procedures that needed to be done to his teeth. He paid for the exam and did not schedule any further appointment (at least to his knowledge). A couple of weeks later, the office manager called to remind him of his appointment--he said what appointment? The woman told him that he had a scheduled appointment to have 1 of his teeth cleaned (deep perio cleaning.) Even though he was confused by this, he went to the appointment. The hygenist put him in the chair and began working. After over 1 hour my uncle asked why it was taking so long and why was is it so painful. And the practictioner said "oh well I went ahead and did two teeth instead of just the one." My uncle was upset and in pain, and then when he went to check out--of course they wanted to charge him for the extra tooth. He paid for the one tooth that they were supposedly cleaning, but refused to pay for the other since he was not even asked if he wanted it done, nor did he agree to it. Since then (now 6 months later). They refuse to talk to him, have sent him to collections for not paying for the other tooth. Which they tried to overcharge the insurance company for and they adjusted the price after he complained. On top of that, he developed infection in both teeth that they supposedly cleaned and had to have them both extracted!!! I can't believe we are still in the process of haggling over $150 collections for a tooth that had to be extracted by another dentist--after they supposedly cleaned it without permission. read more

Very unprofessional staff. I have not been seen by Dr. Talis even though I have had 4 root canals and 4 crowns done. I have a lot of work to be done and they have a newly trained dentist on staff who is unprofessional and under experienced as well as her assistant. I gave them many opportunities to continue to service my dental needs, but after all the mistakes I have moved on. I had a root canal performed on the wrong tooth, cording left under my gums after a root canal, unfinished root canal where canals were missed and was prescribed a medication that I was allergic to causing me to get violently ill at work. (and these were three different teeth!) I had a meeting with Dr. Talis to which point I even told her that I would pay my bill in full, I will just move on, but I wanted to leave the meeting right then and go home, it was all extremely upsetting, she kept me in the break room and still kept asking questions about how much my tooth hurt after the cording was left in, to the point where I felt like I was being accused of doing it my self. I made up a lie and left. I absolutely hate this place and will never go back to Dr. Talis or Dr. Gilbert. The dental hygienist is good and the assistant Patty is good. I have another friend that wont go back there due to like issues as well. read more
