I had a great experience here with PA Daysi Abreu. I was skeptical because I've been to dermatologist before good and not my favorite. I really wanted a dermatologist who could somehow to relate to be whether it being darker complexion or the same diagnosis I have. She was very experienced and knowledgable in my skin condition. Daysi was very empathic and ready to remedy the issue and the reason why I had finally came in. I highly recommend her. I am currently cancelling my other appointments at other dermatologist I made as backups. I was a little unhappy with the wait, they tell you get there ten minutes early. I got there ten minutes early probably should've gotten there about twenty minutes early as there were plenty new patients who had to use the electronic new patient form (very much so ipad-like, if not an ipad). I dislike that they operate with a call center. First time I called they told me they didn't take Florida Blue, called again thinking I was going to speak and call another derm location... it was then when I realized it was a call center. The second call, I told them I had Florida Blue and they said they take my insurance they just call it "blue cross, blue shield". Luckily, I accidentally called twice because I would've missed out on a great experience with Daysi. The call center also had all my information wrong, from name to address. The check in process with the link sent the night before is helpful. It reminds you your appointment time and copay. Four stars, instead of five because of small wait time and inconvenient call center experience. read more

First time coming here. It's disappointing to know that the dermatology field is super scammy and kinda like a pyramid scheme... The wait time wasn't the issue, but the overall seriousness and respect for their patients was the problem. I had come in today to see a dermatologist about my skin care routine and to learn more about what products/steps I should be taking to improve the longevity and appearance of my skin (i'm 22 so I wanted to start early!) The dermatologist didn't even bother to see me, she just handed me off to the Aesthetician. The Aesthetician Noel put on a good show, she was very knowledgeable about HER skincare products, but that's not what I was there for. I had previously talked to a dermatologist about the importance of starting skincare routines (tretinoin/retinol/aging preventatives) early and did a ton of research about it and the Aesthetician seemed that she didn't care about the facts, she just shoved their commission product line down my throat and their $300 facials to the point where my suggested bill for all the products came out to be $900. I asked about a low dose of pure retinol to start and she quickly told me I didn't want that and that I wanted one of her retinol third party commission products with tons of other additives (I started to piece together that she didn't have the proper education to prescribe me anything, she was solely there to sell her own stuff). I'm so upset because I wanted to talk to someone that had formal medical training and knowledge about a proper skincare routine, and I was excited! Do you love getting a call the day of your appointment, 15 minutes prior to your arrival, letting you know that you were scheduled incorrectly? Or After rearranging your schedule and taking the day off of work only to find that it was unnecessary and that you're going to have to do it again? Then this is the place for you! Call today and have all of your customer service needs thrown right out the window! What a joke of an office. Maybe customer service is not a priority for a doctors office, but it should at least be mildly present. read more

First time coming here. It's disappointing to know that the dermatology field are big crooks. I came in as I was experiencing a rash on my face for over a week. I was there for no more than 30 minutes total including waiting room. I was seen first seen by the check-in nurse who asked a series of questions in which I explained, I believe this is was caused by a new foundation I Used. Then the doctor (Daysi) came in who asked the same questions and I provided the same response. She quickly looked at my face (just by eyes- no touching) and prescribed a topical face cream which cost me $9.74 at the pharmacy. I have a high deductible insurance plan, upon checkout I was charged a copay of $91.04, which I paid at time of visit. I will say the doctor and staff was friendly upon visit, however, when I called upon receiving an invoice showing a balance of $20.10 to get clarification details (total charge of nearly $400), I was treated rudely by Amanda. After being placed on hold twice, she explained this was an intermediate visit allowable charge for insurance. I asked what made it intermediate as it was pretty basic to me and she had no explanation. I also asked what would it have caused had I not had insurance and she did not know. There was no physical treatment provided to my skin. Four weeks prior I had the same reaction and did a Teladoc appointment which only cost me $50 Copay. I was given an oral RX (less than $20) which resolved the issue quickly. After using the foundation for the second time and getting the same reaction l, I figured that was the cause but wanted to see if doc could provide better insight. She said hard to know. It could be anything around you could be allergic to, and prescribed a topical cream, after 3 days my face was cleared. Clearly i should have made another Teledoc appt. and would have paid way less. I just don't understand why the charge was so expensive when nothing was physically done to me. She saw me for 10 mins tops. A ridiculous amount charged with no true explanation. read more

First visit went well, and Michele Bruner seemed to be very caring and concerned looking over my dad. My first impression was correct, as when my dad was unable to return for biopsy results, she actually made a phone call to me advising what the results were of the tests. Staff is very friendly and have minimal waiting time, I may have gotten lucky. Dr Abreu is wonderful and makes sure you are thoroughly examined and explains the areas of concerns on your skin. read more

If I could give a zero star I would! I Scheduled an appointment with the branch in Riverview. The scheduling personnel were very rude, especially when they called me to confirm the appointment. That should have been my first clue! When the department called back after my procedure, the person was nasty and talked down to me, because I would not make a follow up appointment right away. I spoke to a supervisor who was even worse! I immediately went to the branch in Riverview to get copies of my file and let them know I would not be coming back to their company. The receptionist at the branch was very nice. I let her know what happened and she said the branch has no control over scheduling or call backs to patients. This is handled by the regional office in St Pete. She also stated this has happened on many occasions and the branch personnel wished they could handle all communications for their own clients. I am now a former customer, their system is broken. No one should be treated like that! read more

If you enjoy living with your skin condition and want to waste your time and money come here. The staff will not follow up on what they tell you they're going to do. One appointment the PA didn't even check my daughter's flare up and said her medication (that we've been waiting for, for months) wasn't approved by Insurance. My husband called our insurance and the medication had been approved for a month and they informed the PA/Staff that the pharmacy they were trying to use wasn't In-Network. Still made us pay for this wasted appointment and refused credit. They called and cancelled on me the very next appointment. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU! read more

I went to see Dr. Nelson at Advanced Dermatology of Riverview about 3 months ago. They were very nice and he did a thorough checkup of my skin. He did a biopsy of a previous melanoma scar that I had done years ago and removed a mole. He told me that they would call me the following week to inform me the results of my biopsy (good or bad). It's September and no one has called me back, despite the fact that I have called and left messages. I think that they need to work on their communications with patients. read more

Writing this for my wife. Made her an appointment and thought she was in good hands. She said the doctor was very nice and did a good job, but it was negated by the very poor and lack of customer service from the front staff. Zero greetings, not polite, talking about needing a whisky because the person did not want to be there today(In front of patients), calling last names like a Drill Sergeant with no titles(Mr., Ms, etc) Customer Service and First Impressions are important in repeat business. Needless to say, Will not be coming back here. read more
