I was referred here by my primary care physician and was a bit apprehensive due to the reviews. I called on a Thursday and was able to get an appointment for the following Monday. When I arrived at the clinic, I was greeted immediately and taken into an examination room within 5 minutes of my arrival. PA Chelsea examined me and recommended a biopsy due to what she observed. She thoroughly explained the procedure and allowed me to ask questions. There was zero discomfort during the procedure due to PA Chelsea's expertise. She advised that I would receive my results in about 3 weeks. To my surprise, I received the results on my Quest app a few days later. The office called me the following day to explain the findings. If I could give zero stars, I would. If your primary care provider refers you here, I strongly recommend asking for a different referral and paying attention to the other reviews. The front desk staff was rude, and the nurse practitioner, Michelle Carhill, was also unprofessional. My initial appointment took two months to schedule and was canceled the day of because the NP called out. I was rescheduled for the following week. I arrived at 10:30 for my 10:45 appointment, completed the required paperwork, and was taken to an exam room at 10:45 with the assurance that the nurse would be in shortly. I then waited alone in the room for 45 minutes. When the nurse finally came in, just as I was preparing to leave, she asked if I was looking for the bathroom. I told her I was leaving. There was no apology or explanation for the excessive wait, only an "Oh." She then stated that nothing could be done anyway, as the visit was only a consultation and I would need to schedule another appointment. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand why the profession sometimes receives negative feedback. Experiences like this are exactly why. read more

My two daughters (3&4 yrs old) were referred here by their pcp. Making an appt for both daughters at the same time was a nightmare. The front desk ladies were extremely rude every time i have spoken with them and very unhelpful when helping me schedule and reschedule. The only plus to this office is the doctor herself. One daughter was seen and they scheduled my other daughter on a different day. I was finally able to get them an appt on the same day because the doctor herself walked me to the front desk to make sure the front desk scheduled the girls the same day, only to get a call a week later saying one daughters appt will have to get rescheduled due to them overbooking and i said no because my other daughter still had her appt and it truly is an inconvenience for me to have them on separate days and they said there is nothing they can do the appt is canceled and my daughter will have to wait another month and a half. read more

I bring my dad here for his dermatology appointments. He is usually seen within 10 minutes (sometimes a lot less) when arriving. Plenty of seating space in the waiting room. The staff is very friendly and patient with my dad (he is in a wheelchair). The facility is hard to navigate son w the doors are narrow. But we manage to get through. My sister called them and was going over info to make an appointment for my niece, the receptionist asked her a question regarding insurance to which my sister didn't know, instead of the receptionist helping her, she and her colleague (who my sister can hear in the background) laugh at her. When my sister asks what's so funny she said "huh?" And puts her on hold to compose herself. My sister then asks for the girl and her colleagues name, she refused to give it. Avoid this place like the plague. Their doctors do not care about your skin issues, in fact they don't even attempt to fix them. All they do is give you random ointments (without doing any tests whatsoever) and tell you to come back in a couple months. My first visit literally lasted 5 minutes, most of which was just me trying to explain my skin condition. All the doctor did was prescribe me a couple ointments and tell me to come back. At the time I thought sure, we'll continue the visit next time. What he failed to mention is that WAS the visit, all 5 minutes of it and it cost me $200. They were happy to charge me again when I came back the second time. And they simply shrugged and even refused to offer an apology when I complained about their practices, even after I told the office manager I was not informed I would be charged again and the doctor did not do enough work to even consider that "visit" a consultation. These criminals are out to get your money. Believe the other reviews when they say they don't try to help you, they just ensure you'll come back so they can get rich from your suffering. People have come here and almost died of cancer (please read other reviews like mine) because they don't do tests, and just try to get you in and out as quickly as possible to make more money. I am sharing this review in hopes that anyone who is thinking of accessing care at Advanced Dermatology can learn from my experience. Exceptionally low quality and standard of care. Their administrative team is severely burdened and cannot properly handle patient requests. Isabelle, who is responsible for prescriptions, kept sending my prescription to a different specialty pharmacy than is approved by my insurance, even after I informed them numerous times. I tried reaching out to ask PA Cory (Robert) to help fill my specialty prescription, but he never responded after numerous attempts of contact. I had no way of directly reaching him, so was only able relay messages through the front desk admin team. In the end, I could not fill my prescription due to their administrative burdens and switched providers. With my new provider, I was able to get my medication soon after and have had no issues with my current provider. There was about a year of constant back and forth between me and the administrative team. In the end, Advanced Dermatology could not meet their obligation to uphold patient needs. Accessing patient-driven, empathetic healthcare should not be this difficult. read more

The reviews here are not so great, but my time here have been pleasant. I see most good reviews are from Cory's patient. When I asked my Primary Care Physician to refer me to here to see Dr. Stephanie Martin, I didn't know she is the surgeon there. So I got referred to the same office but under Dr. Navid Nami . I was nervous for my first visit because of the reviews here so I made sure I printed out all the paperwork and filled it out prior to coming and came 15 minutes early. They were happy I did my own paperwork beforehand and was seen right away. My visits have been no more than 20 minutes or less, they have been pretty good with me so far. I was not seen by Dr. Navid Nami, but by Physician Assistant, Robert Zapotosky who goes by Cory. Once he saw me for the initial consultation, he offered if I would prefer a female physician instead but I think I got lucky with him, based off his great reviews. I'm glad I got him, he had great bedside manners and was very cheery. Dr. Cory always asked if there's anything else I needed and is always very welcoming! He also offered me some sunscreens and face washes from their sample cabinet. I came home with a nice goodie bag! read more

If you need anything like an appointment or a refill on a prescription that they gave you, don't go here. My daughter needs prescription for a monthly injection called Dupixent. They started prescribing this for her back in August 2023. Her prescription ran out of refills so I called the office 2 weeks before the next dose would be needed to get the refill. I finally received a call back on Tuesday (after calling multiple times and getting told i would get a call back) and they said they would send over the refill to the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy today and they hadn't received anything. I called the office and I'm continuing to get the run around or being transferred and sent to different peoples voicemails. Now my daughter will miss her dose of her needed medication because this office can't get it together for the need of the patient. Not to mention...their appointment availability is horrible. My husband had been a patient here for years. He has had spots on top of his head, under his eye and finger (looks more like peeling skin). For years they have been giving ointment to treat it. Finally, we went to a different dermatologist, immediately she did biopsies on these areas. Turns out they are all squamous cell carcinomas. The one on his head was so deep they thought it could have spead to skull, his finger may have to be amputated because of they're neglect Please beware of this office, I would never recommend them. I honestly wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I don't think I'll be returning. I had an appointment on the 13th. When I arrived, I signed in and said hello. The blonde receptionist with black roots instead of saying hello back asked, "Do you have an appointment?" I responded, "Yes, my appointment is at 12:45 PM." Her question felt redundant since she had just seen me sign in. After a brief pause, she told me to have a seat. I waited patiently, but my name was never called. I noticed that a man who arrived after me, with a 1:30 PM appointment, was seen before me. I arrived at 12:35 PM for my 12:45 PM appointment and ended up leaving at 2:15 PM without being seen. What's the point of setting an appointment if I'm not going to be seen at that time, especially when others who arrived later are seen before me? When I got up to leave, both receptionists just watched without a word--they clearly didn't care. This isn't the first bad experience I've had here. During my first visit, I was scheduled with Kyle, who was 20 minutes late. Because of this, he said he couldn't address all my concerns, which included both hair and face issues. Although it bothered me, I tried to be understanding. For my next visit, I was supposed to see Chelsea, a female doctor, but was instead scheduled with a male doctor due to a mistake in the scheduling. The office manager gave me the option to leave and reschedule or see Kyle for my hair concerns, which hadn't been addressed in the previous visit. I chose to stay since I had already driven there and didn't want to leave with nothing done. After this visit, Kyle instructed the scheduling staff to book me with Chelsea for my third visit on the 13th. However, I was scheduled with another female doctor instead, which I accepted. I wish I hadn't because this was the visit where my name was never called, and everyone else was seen before me. This experience left a particularly bad impression on me, especially because I realized I was the only person of color in the lobby. It took me four days of waiting at least 45 minutes to speak to someone regarding an appointment and when I finally got her on the line, she says they don't accept my insurance. My first experience was decent but it all went down hill from there, I've been back three more times and each time they had scheduling issues with doctors, with my appointment that they made and gave me appointment cards for and today their doctor didn't show up and they called to let me know and said to still come if I wanted to see another doctor so I show up and they tried to turn me away after I came all the way down and followed their directions. The staff was great, I would give them 5/5 stars easily, but I just CAN'T give the practice as a whole a good review when communication is so terrible. What's the point of having great people working there when the only way to contact them is through a call center that is 15 plus calls deep with a 45 minute wait at the best of times? They canceled my original appointment and called my husbands phone number (who is the primary number on our insurance) despite the fact that I gave them my phone number the first time I called and waited on hold for over half an hour. I understand things happen and appointments need to be rescheduled that part is no big deal, but since I wasn't called directly I had to call back after work that night. I called around 4:30pm and was something like caller 25 in line! I waited with the phone on speaker until around 7 when I'd been caller 3 for about half an hour. Pretty sure they just stopped answering calls and went home. Called back the next morning when they opened was already 7 or so in line and had to hang up before they got to me to go to work. Called again in my lunch break and almost had to hang up again because it took almost the full hour I had for lunch for someone to pick up. If I didn't have an HMO who had given me a referral here and had my problem not been so painful I would have gone elsewhere. After I got through to the call center scheduling wasn't a problem and I was actual able to get in sooner than my original appointment it just needed to be with someone else. When I did manage to get in for an appointment the nurse practitioner I saw was great. The wait in the office wasn't long at all and they were all very welcoming but still professional. They also charge you for missing an appointment with less than 48hrs notice. Avoid this place at all cost. I've been trying to schedule a new follow up appointment and they've been such a bad communicator on their end. My previous visit left my face and skin so dry and flaky. It felt as if I had an outbreak and the reason I originally went here was to get some treatment for my hormonal acne. I left the office with burning sensation which initially made me question the treatment itself however, the doctor told me this was totally normal and I should have nothing to worry about. A couple days after my treatment my skin began to have an outbreak, my acne worsen overnight leaving me painful pus like bumps on my face. I don't recommend coming here at all. read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS FACILITY!!!! You will end up in bill hell. Called for an appointment with Dr. Martin. Was told I was in-network but I needed to see the PA before I could see a doctor. Was seen by PA and was charged $25 for in-network service. I paid. A month later I was sent a bill for an additional $25 for out of network co-pay with the name of a doctor who I never saw. A 3 way call was placed between myself, United Healthcare and Island Dermatology. It was agreed that my co-pay was $25, I was in network, I would not be getting another bill nor a phone call from their billing department. I have received 4 bills, 2 calls and have made and spoken with both UHC and them 5 times. It's billing hell and I just gave up and sent the $25. Will never go there again. PA was fine, desk staff mediocre, building and offices outdated, old and shabby, AND BILLING DEPARTMENT IS AWFUL!!!!!! read more

Such a horrible experience I will never return. First of all I got there 15 minutes late because I got lost and tried calling the office 4 TIMES! No one answered and when I got to the office there was 3 receptionist at the front desk doing NOTHING. I check in and apologize for being late, I explained WHY I was late and mentioned I did try calling 4 times. One of the receptionist then tells me with an attitude she'll have to ask the PA if he'll still see me. I hear the PA tell her yes, he'll still see me but it'll be a 20/30 minute wait. Then I hear him tell her he needs to go home. She then proceeds to ask him if she should call his other patient that is also running late. Then, he loudly tells her "yes since all the patients are just coming in at whatever time they want!" I too out loud yelled OH! So he too can hear. Like hello all your patients in the waiting room can hear you! I turn in my completed paper work and in a low voice tell the receptionist I just need the PA to know I didn't just come in at whatever time I wanted, I promise you I got lost and tried calling but no one answered. The PA was acting as if he was going to service us for free or something! They bring me and my son into a patient room, he comes in literally takes a GLANCE at my son, no eye contact, no talking TO US with his body language yet talking away to us then diagnosis him. I kid you not we were in room with the PA for LESS that 5 minutes. I even asked him "so just by looking at it you're going to make such big diagnosis no blood work no nothing?!" Then he answered very nonchalant "no." I wanted to just walk out. Then as I check out I still use my manners and thank the receptionist and I get NO response, no you're welcome, no nothing.
