Not sure why so many bad reviews. I've been here twice since Covid-19 and everyone is extremely friendly and professional. Doctor Austed has answered all of my questions and taken the necessary steps to ensure my perspective on my skin issues were addressed. With an appointment each visit, it was extremely quick to see the doctor and I never left feeling like I wasted my time. The front office team was extremely professional, thanked me for coming in and wished me a great day when leaving. Looking forward to my next visit here. I'm writing behalf my daughter she's 16 years old and we have been coming here for around 2 years. All the doctors PA are unprofessional in the way they act and proceed. They continue to give treatments when we say they aren't working without even taking a look at the type of acne she has so they can treat it correctly. I understand my daughter is a teenager and it's normal to have acne this age and they still convinced me to put her on accutane and I wasn't willing to agree with this because my daughter is so young and she will get rid of the acne sooner or later. They still convinced me to let her take it then once only one month goes by they tell her she needs to stop it when her skin gets better this is ridiculous. They told us we should because of the side effects that we already knew prior that was going to happen. This company is only about marketing and selling business and this doctor Kyle is talking to me like I'm his dude when we are the patient. Very unprofessional and disrespectful I don't recommend this dermatologist. Nothing looks advanced to me that's all I got to say. read more

Worst experience! This office needs to review their policies. My husband takes my daughter for her first consult. The front desk notices my husband is Hispanic and my daughter is not. They look at her insurance card which clearly has my husband as the primary insurance policy holder and they still want ME to sign a consent form? My butt is at work which is why my husband was taking her. I don't get why they need a form of consent from me? Hello! My husband is the primary insurance holder and my daughter is under his insurance under a family plan isn't that consent enough? I don't get it? We have NEVER had this happen at any place before. Don't walk, run from this place. The wife went here, horrible customer service. She waited 15mins to see the PA (not bad), consult took less than 5mins and was offered a referral to another dermatologist at a different location. 20 months later (that's not a typo, twenty months later) we receive a 3 digit bill for that visit. Wtf?! I'm all about physicians getting paid for their time, but who waits to bill nearly 2 yrs later?! We have not received a single notice until now. Called the office to ask if this was a mistake? Receptionist offered very little help, we were told to take it up with insurance company. Really? For the amount these guys are charging, I'd expect much better service and care. The entire staff needs to be fired ASAP and this office is in great need to hire PROFESSIONAL people that want to actually work and help their patients. Unlike the current staff that seems to have a stick up ALL their ASSESS. ALL 10 receptionist were being uncooperative/rude/disrespectful and honestly they were being complete B*TCHES! I left a message on another site but feel I need to warn people about this office. I had gone in for my yearly check up and ended up accidentally leaving my phone and glasses on the exam table under the paper gown. I left the office and went downstairs then noticed I'd forgotten them and went straight back..... Then it gets crazy, they said they found my glasses but no phone!! WHAT??? I had them call it and front office girl said it went to voice mail, couldn't be!! I was just using it!! So, after going back and forth with them I left without my phone. I should have called the police and still may do so since it's only been a few days. read more

SHAME ON YOU Dr. Navi Nami for running such a poor establishment here in Glendora! My city deserves better! I expected more from this Glendora location as your office in my city should not as busy as other locations. I've seen with my own eyes 3 girls running the front desk. You are NOT understaffed. I am saving my phone records to show the number of times I have called with no response or left messages just to either: NOT get a person to answer or to leave messages where no one gets back to me. The other day I called and the answering machine was full and couldn't take any more calls BECAUSE of course, the staff doesn't clear messages. So this morning, after 2 weeks of attempting, I FINALLY got lucky as they answered the phone. Only to be put on hold for 16 minutes before I hung up. I give up!! I just wanted them to authorize my cream they said they would do. Even Walgreens said they tried contacting them and have been unsuccessful. The only good experience my husband I got from this place was Corey and hope to GOD he leaves this terrible establishment and goes elsewhere. Today is March 23, 2022 its 11:45am and just got off the phone with Walgreens before I called Blue Cross to file a complaint and they said still no prescription for my face cream. Called 3 times to make an appointment from a referral. Got ans service each time. Called again today and got thru to receptionist. Gave her my Name, DOB, Medical group info and then could not understand what she asked me next. Seemed like she was using a headset with the mic too close and it was just garbled/blaring on my end. What a joke. I've been trying to get an appointment for over a month I called them five times and their answering machine says leave a message and they'll call you back. Yeah right never. So I kept calling until I got hold of someone and a soon as I started talking they hung up on me not once not twice three times. Avoid this place like it has bubonic plague. Beware!! My medical group sent me here because my doctor recommended I see a dermatologist for a stubborn case of actinic keratosis, precancerous cells on the face. Being fair skinned I have dealt with this for the last 20 years and usually it is frozen off, no big deal. I didnt get to see a doctor, just a PA who explained that I was not going to actually be able to have them frozen off that day, it was just an appointment to see if I needed to actually see a dermatologist. After my doctor said it was necessary. None of this was explained when I made the appointment and took a half day off work. He then spend 3 minutes explaining what I already knew without doing anything. Complete waste of time and then they had the gall to charge $237.00, after I got the bill, for a 5 minute visit which accomplished nothing but waste my time and make me very angry. read more

Which I didn't have to give any stars. I waited 7 weeks for the appointment. Two days prior I start getting text reminders, then robot messages in my voicemail and a phone call directly from the staff...5 reminders over 2 days and I confirmed each one. I go to my appointment and feel good about the timing of being seen and the PA seems wonderful but here we are 3 days later and he still has not sent in the two prescriptions that I need. I left a message yesterday afternoon -- I have not heard back and tried to call again today and not only do they not answer, the mailbox is full. The only way I am going to get the medication that I need is to go back to the office - I feel like they should return my co-pay. Two trips to the pharmacy and a trip back to the office is likely to cost me 2 gallons of gas that is at least $10 buck that they should refund me. While I am there I plan on canceling my follow up appointment because --- what the heck. read more

How completely ridiculous is this office staff?!?when I made my eldest daughters appointment, I asked them how quickly we could be In and out on the only day they had open because my youngest daughter has physical therapy an hour later. "No problem. Just show up at least fifteen minutes early for paperwork. " "Awesome!" Fast forward to today. There are at least 15 people in the hallway waiting for them to open and they don't even bother opening their doors until 805. I called them as we walked away and told tn the situation. Their response to me is I shouldn't have over booked myself and alloyed proper time. Omfg! Jerks! Never again. Which is sad bc I hear good things about dr nami. I never make reviews but believe the reviews here, this place is not fit to serve anyone in any way shape or form. I was referred here by my doctor for a biopsy and waited about a month and a half for my first appointment which should've been my first red flag. The waiting room is dirty and had way to many people in it, I'm assuming they overbook since the room was so packed. I went to the window to fill in my paperwork since it's my first time and not even 2 minutes later they call me in and don't allow me to finish the paperwork stating what I have and the reason for my visit.(red flag number 2) Once I'm finally in the dermatologist office, the Dr I had was rushing me and clearly didn't look at what I was referred there since he was puzzled why I was there and once I pointed out what was wrong he claimed "nothing is wrong, I don't see anything so are you seeing something I'm not?" After pointing it out time after time he still can't see it (needs his eyes checked) and just gives me a cream that didn't help in the slightest and now I'm back to square one with my next appointment being in 6 weeks. After contacting my doctor who referred me he said they should've done the biopsy on the area I was pointing out and that it's strange they didn't. I'm assuming this place is a joke establishment and don't know how to properly care for their patients because the service was terrible from the doctor and he seems clueless. It is still baffling me how I told the doctor specifically what was wrong and showed him the area and he "didn't see it" since every other medical professional CAN see it and says it is something that needs looking at. There are so many little things that are wrong with this place as well like how it feels extremely dirty in the patient rooms as if they don't clean the room after each patient. They take way to many people at once and rush thru people since it was around the time they closed and I'm assuming he wanted to leave right away so he did the bare minimum for me. They don't answer the phones to reschedule or cancel an appointment either so if you want to get anything done go in person. All in all this was a huge waste of time for me and after 2 appointments there with the doctor just saying "I don't see it, are you seeing something I'm not?" And not helping with my symptoms I will never return to this place ever again. I'm asking my doctor to refer me to a more professional specialist. read more

Ali Sheets, PA is the best practitioner I have seen in years. Despite her young age, she is direct, efficient, and she really cares about doing the right thing for the patient, while also considering the potential cost to the patient given their insurance situation. She won't recommend procedures that she thinks are not necessary or worth the expense to the particular patient, she doesn't push products, but she also makes sure to be thorough and not take any chances when it comes to skin cancer. Don't let the bare-bones decor of the waiting room or facility fool you, this practitioner makes it worth the trip (and I trek all the way from DTLA to come see her). read more

Not sure if this is the same Dr. Navid Nami that works in Newport Beach through Island Dermatology? If it is...My experience has been ok with him and the staff, didn't leave having a terrible nor great experience. Office is nice & clean and Dr. Nami was kind and nice on the eyes (compared to most older dermatologist I have seen), well ladies you got to admit it doesn't hurt =) LOL. I'm also confused as to if he is a DO, MD, or both? He didn't spend much time with me as I would of liked and at first I had felt like I was just another number/patient and he needed to get up out of there to the next patient because he got straight to the point and moved on, not that this is a terrible thing. I would of liked to have been given a prescription that was covered or that at least I could afford, what was the point other wise?! Medicine is not affordable if it's not covered, geez can they really charge that much...ouch! I also would of liked if they offered some type of alternative treatment plans or given me more options of what I could have done since I left not knowing what they offer at this place but than again didn't ask either, guess I figured Navid Nami, D.O. would have mentioned it. read more

Down to why I give this place one star. The office staff is a joke. First, I needed a refill on a prescription. I called the pharmacy they sent my approval to and set up a refill for October 23, 2019. I got a call back from the pharmacy and they left a voicemail on October 25, 2019, saying that they sent Advanced dermatology a fax with the paperwork to send to the insurance company and that they will call me back to set up another delivery for a refill of Otezla. I gave advanced dermatology more than 2 weeks to send the request for Otezla to the insurance. I called Advanced Dermatology on November 11, 2019, to see if they have sent the request because I found it weird that the pharmacy did not call me back for the scheduled delivery. On November 11, 2019, advanced dermatology told me that they never received a fax and that they will go ahead and send a request to the insurance. I called the pharmacy just to make sure they sent it after advanced dermatology said they never received a fax, the pharmacy said that they did send it on October 25, 2019, and that the insurance has a receipt of the fax sent. So advanced dermatology lied about never receiving the fax. On top of scalp psoriasis, I also have SLE (Lupus) and the Otezla helps with Lupus inflammation as well. On November 12, 2019, I had really bad inflammation on my joints (hands, ankle, and feet) due to not drinking the Otezla for a few days. On 11/13/19 I went to their office with my mom (my mom came since I could not drive due to the lupus inflammation on my hands) to see if I can get a sample pack I've gotten a few times before since I ran out of the medication. Since I was there I also asked if they sent out a request to the insurance for authorization to receive Otezla, they said that they did not even know my authorization was expired. I told them I called in 11/11/19 to see if they received fax and that they said they did not but that they will go ahead and send an authorization on 11/11/19, but they did not do it until we reminded them the day we went! They are not just messing with my psoriasis which is annoying, but they are also putting me in pain and messing with my lupus. The office workers are horrible. They said I could not even get a sample pack because I took prescribed prednisone (5mg) for the inflammation the night before. So I asked them if I could see the doctor, they said no I needed an appointment to see the doctor. I tried making an appointment, they said I couldn't because my authorization was expired. My mom ended up paying $100 so I could see the doctor to simply explain the situation, not even to get medical advice. When my mom said she would pay the $100 to see the doctor, one of the office workers replied with "oh I guess she's rich" and my mom replied with "I'm not rich I just care about my daughter's well-being." The one who I guess is the office manager (office worker who says she deals with giving the medication to patients) said that she's not going to allow me to see the doctor, that she's going to refund my mom the $100. My mom and I tried to explain to them that they messed up by lying about never receiving a fax from the pharmacy (about 20 mins earlier I was on the phone with the pharmacy who said prednisone would not in any way counter-react with Otezla) the office manager replied with "I don't appreciate the false accusations and the tone you are giving me, I have the right to not provide you with the protocol we take to send authorizations to the insurance which we don't even deal with authorizations, the pharmacy we deal with takes care of authorizations.) they later wanted me to get a blood panel to see kidney function (something I get done every 3 months anyways for lupus ((which at this time I just has gotten a week prior)) a new biopsy (which I already had done by a previous dermatologist and provided them with the results) to make sure I actually had psoriasis and a full history of my lupus before they can even send an authorization request to my insurance. All this would take MONTHS to do to just have them send an authorization request for a medicine that I've been taking for nearly a year. After we spoke with the office manager we needed to go back to the front to get a refund for the office visit that they refused to do after I paid for it. The other office lady there who was dealing with the refund also gave my mom an attitude and rolled her eyes because they asked us to sit down to get a receipt for the refund. After 5 mins and speaking with other patients who have had similarly horrible experiences with the office staff, my mom went up and asked for her refund receipt where they said that my mom refused to get a receipt. My mom NEVER refused to get a receipt. It seems these people want to blame everyone else for the mistakes they have made. Unprofessional, rude, and ultimately the worse medical office staff I have ever dealt with!! I recommend going somewhere else! read more

I've spent 5 years terrified about getting some moles checked. Mainly because I'm a baby and squeemish... but also because I'm nervous for bad news because skin cancer runs in my family. Needless to say this office was easy to schedule with, the got me in fast, staff was friendly and patient with my questions. I didn't wait that long to see the PA who would help me and she was wonderful. Thank you Ali for making this experience a bearable one and for having terrific bed side manner. I attempted to make an appointment and the lady answering the phone was incredibly rude. I have a PPO plan and the doctor was in-network but I also have out of network benefits as well. She put me on hold for 15 minutes and I finally cancelled the appointment. I agree with many of the reviews. The doctor's staff is costing the company a lot of money. I've been going here for almost a year for my pathologically oily skin & acne. The receptionists are nice and the PA I see is great, he makes jokes and always sends me home with free samples. And my skin is clearer than it's ever been in the past 20 years. Plus he does early morning appointments! It's so nice to not have to miss work for a doctor appointment. read more

P.A. Reena Sampat is amazing. She provides excellent care for my whole family. Treating everything from skin cancer to eczema and acne. She identified a tiny mole on my back as being unusual. Came back as Melanoma. She caught it when it was tiny and treated it quickly. She will be our doctor for life. Recommend her to anyone, especially my whole family. read more

I only made it to two appointments that I had scheduled every 3 months. The doctor that I saw was great (she is no longer there) but the major issue with this location is their administration. I've been working with this location for maybe a year or more and their administration is just not organized. My last appointment was cancelled two times and then moved to a different doctor and was cancelled again. Keep in mind I need regular appointments done. For the last appointment I decided to move to a different clinic and I personally cancelled my appointment. Even doing that they called me to remind of that appointment so I had to tell them that told I cancelled it. Also keep in mind that they charge you if you don't make it to your appointment so I told them that I better not be charged. The people who work there do seem busy but their customer service is just not great because having gone through a lot of trouble no one ever apologized and they were always quick on the phone. One other thing, there was a nurse there that made a judgemental comment and I didn't like that either. I would say take the time to look for another place! read more

Dr Nami might be pretty to your eyes but ask yourself if you are there to treat your skin condition or check out pretty guy. I don't know how qualified he is, but I think he is arrogant. His office is terrible also. Yes, some people have no choice because this office is the only referral you can go to. I was sent to this office because my health plan group no longer had a dermatologist in their local office. I went to see them to get a suspicious skin sore checked. I have had basal cell carcinoma and melanoma before so I'm very diligent about checking my skin. I was referred to a doctor but was only able to see a P.A. He checked the spot and felt it was nothing more than a precancerous spot. He froze it and said that was all I needed. Well when I went back a few months later the spot was still the same so he froze it again. He reassured me that it was nothing. A few months later and the spot still had not gone away so I asked my doctor for a referral to someone else for a second opinion. GLAD I did because this time I saw a doctor and not just a P.A. She checked me much more thoroughly and did a biopsy on the suspicious spot and one other one she found. The results of the initial spot were positive for skin cancer and now I'm set up for surgery. My doctor stopped short of saying the PA screwed up but I know better. If you're being checked for possible skin cancer I would NOT TRUST this office. read more

Horrible... went in for a visit and saw Dr. Nami. Had a small mole that had been lasered off by a previous doctor and had not healed up. Within a matter of two minutes Dr. Nami came in in a hurry and quickly told me that we would have to do a biopsy, and the biopsy scar would be about 6 inches long, then after the biopsy if there was more cancer he would have to cut in deeper and then that scar would be about the size of a small envelope on my back and if I didn't like it I could just go to a plastic surgeon. The end...Next???? I almost started crying. He was so cold and matter-of-fact. I was probably in his office for approximately three minutes before he hurried off to his next victim....I canceled the biopsy appointment two days before my appointment as I knew in my heart of hearts that he would "never" touch my back. I found another way better more compassionate and considerate dermatologist that told me that the scar on my back would be about an inch and a half long there was nothing to worry about and didn't mention anything about a plastic surgeon because of the huge scar it would leave on my back. Dr. Nami is in my eyes a very cold and inconsiderate person. ...Thank you Jesus for letting me find another Dermatologist who was so much better than this and that I can feel I can trust I would never go to Dr. Nami's office again. Where do I start?? The worst experience I have ever had with a medical facility. I called to set up an appointment, and specifically asked for an experienced doctor who has knowledge of biolopes. The front desk have me what I thought was a "real doctor". In comes a young lady who looked like she was just out of high school. She claimed to be a doctor, but I was doubtful. I showed her a red area on my face by my temple. Right away she, Oh, I'll do a biopsy. I left there was a bad feeling. I called the favotu several times in the attempt to reach an actual person. Good luck! Finally, I reached the front desk. I inquired about the credentials of this female. The lady seemed uncomfortable. She said she would call be back soon. Soon? 4 hours later, I received a call. I was informed that she was a resident only. She had one more year to go before she was actually a doctor. I was livid! This young girl had no experience in biopsies, and shouldn't have touched my face. The problem gets worse. The young girl went too deep into my face, and it appears to be infected. Great! When I speaking with the front desk, I asked to speak with the office manager. The lady informed me that she was busy, but would call me. Then she said Dr. Nami would also call me. Either person returned my call. I called 6 times to inquire why no one cared to return a patient's call. Two days later I finally got a actual person on the phone. I had to go through the entire story, and she put me on hold for 10 minutes. The office mgr came on the phone, and I one by one, went through all the problems. She had no idea what had happened. Very odd, because she was suppose to call me. Again, I went through the entire story. She put me on hold for another 10 minutes. Finally, she came back on the phone and said the doctor would be calling me shortly. He never did. I am going to go to a qualified dermatologist, have them review the problem, and send them the bill. This has been very stressful for me, and this faculty should be closed down for so many reasons. This is not acceptable medical care for people who pay for medical insurance. Stay clear of this facility. read more
