Terrible service. Our HOA made use switch to advance disposal services. We had zero issues with our previous provider. Now our trash and recycle containers are consistently picked up late. Our trash and recycle were supposed to be picked up on Wednesday. They picked up my trash today but the recycle has still not been picked up. The neighborhood stinks, and when I call in their automated system says my recycle was picked up Wednesday morning, which isn't accurate. There is no self service option or easy way to report a missed pick up. If I wasn't being forced to use advanced disposal as my provider I would cancel. read more

The crappiest service ever. They always forget to pick up my trash so I have to schedule a "special's pick up. The neighbors around me have already changed over to a different company and I will be doing the same. I was told that my account was suspended and I had to pay BEFORE the due date in order for them to pick up my trash. The merger with Waste Management has been the worst here in the Cumming, GA area. I have called to see what is going on but after a lengthy hold time they don't have any reason why recycling hasn't been picked up other than the "route was delayed". They now haven't picked up for two weeks in a row and another 3 out of the last 6 weeks - while they have increased rates. Our quarter is up at the end of May and we will be changing (and as a subdivision) since we are all experiencing the lack of service / communication. WE have been customers for many years as has 95% of our neighborhood and we have been satisfied for many years. 6 yes 6 times in the past two months you all have not picked up our neighborhood recycling on trash day. At least 4 of those times you picked up the next day. Two weeks ago you picked up two days late at 6:30 AM on a Saturday which is against noise ordinance for Forsyth County. This week you skipped out neighborhood all together for recycling. If this is a preview of Waste Management I can guarantee that you will lose this whole neighborhood. Customer Service ranks with the like of AT&T. Absolutely horrid. You cannot get anyone on the phone or get a response in email. Their message states they will reply promptly. Their promptly must mean something different than mine... like when I feel like it or "never". They are good at trash pick up but large item pick up is a joke. They will not do it; does not matter what you put out there they will find a way to ignore you. I don't like to write bad reviews but it got to the point that the service was just horrible. They did not pick up the trash for the whole month of April. I've been calling them on the weekly bases with no good results. I finally canceled the service because it is very obvious that this company doesn't care about their customers at all. We have had this company 4 just over 2 years. Their price doubled in that time with no notification. Customer service is non-existent. Even sales does not respond to opportunities. Their business model is to screw their customers with unannounced rate increases that keep them just below their competitors. What are we consumers to do? I've used Advanced for some years now and never had a complaint. But they were bought last year by Waste Management, a company that is almost universally hated for its horrible customer service and unreliable pick up. WM has now ruined Advanced. They may pick up on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday, or they may not pick up at all. And when they do, the6 leave my bin in the middle of the drive, out in the street and with the lid open so that it fills with rain. Now imagine every house in the neighborhood has trash bins out in the street. It's a safety hazard! So, there is now only one other company that services my area. But what am I to do if I switch to it and it also is bought by WM? Come on Cobb County, go back to county garbage service so we don't have to depend on these scammers! When I lived in SC waste disposal service was included in your property tax pi's once annually, and either the county or the city government provided the service. read more

Had this service for years and they've gone downhill in a hurry. Horrible consistency in trash pickup, lucky if they pick up yard waste at all. Call to complain and they lecture you that you did something wrong. (I pack yard waste in Lowe's bags like 99 percent of the rest of the neighborhood.)When a company has 1 star reviews consistently you'd think management would step in and say, "maybe we do suck and need a change". They are so bad to the point that I am dropping my service and getting Waste Management (even though they have purchased Advanced Disposal) just so I can get regular service. Nobody ever answers the phone even during business hours. I have called six times had two representatives trying to get my old owners trash cans taken. Nobody will take the trashcan. The old owner and I have both separately paid removal fees and still nobody will come. Nobody answers the phone in the online features don't work. They started out as Community Waste Services, merged with Advanced Disposal Services, and are now merging with Waste Management. Each time the cost has gone up and service has gone down. Just this year costs have increased 20%. I emailed their customer service portal, after 8 days no response, tried calling and having a call back when available (never got a return call), and now have been on hold for 33 minutes. Someone finally picks up and they say that the beverage refrigerator I have has to be red tagged before they will pick it up. NO WHERE on their website does it indicate, so I now I get to start the entire process over. Republic Services is the only other option here and they are even worse. If someone....anyone... started a service at the same price with better service customers would come in droves. read more

This company is trash. Absolute trash. Their website said service would be pushed back a day due to Memorial Day, but they came on the usual day - Tuesday. I called THAT DAY at 10:30 am and requested a call back due to heavy call volume. Waited over 2 hours and never got a call. Called again and sat on hold for 45 minutes. Hung up and called like I was calling to set up new service. Spoke to someone who said they'd have someone out the next day - Wednesday. End of Wednesday I called again. Same thing. Sat on hold forever and ended up just hanging up and calling like I was scheduling service. I was told they technically have until Thursday. So I call around 1:30 Thursday and go through the long hold time again. 45 minutes on hold after pressing the proper buttons on the phone tree. Finally hang up and call back like I'm setting up new service. Got a person in 3 minutes! Asked to speak to a manager. I was told again that they'd be out today (Thursday). I spoke to a manager, expressing my issue with the long hold time and insisted someone come get my trash TODAY because there's flies and it stinks!! I was told they have until 6:00 pm to come get it. Here it is 5:40 pm Thursday and guess what -- my trash is still on the curb!!! I tried to call customer service again but they are closed. We just moved here and started service with this company. This is the worst service I've ever received from a trash company. We will definitely be changing. read more

I hate hate hate yelp. I also hate being that bitchy entitled person that leaves yelp reviews... BUT I can't get in touch with anyone at the company and I've been letting the frustration build for MONTHS. Wtf is going on at this company? The garbage people have absolutely shattered and broken my trashcan and it is never even right-side up after pickup. Honestly, that's not even a big deal, but it is always sitting in my driveway sideways with garbage EVERYWHERE. The last few weeks they've taken my top bag out and thrown it in the driveway and then dumped the trash and naturally left the can sideways in the driveway. I mean duuude.. they left a sticker on my trashcan a few years back about leaving it on the other side of my driveway and I make a point to leave it on the correct side now. Extremely frustrating to deal with. I scheduled a bulk pick up for an out door chair, originally I was going to put it in a big box, but decided place it beside the trash can not in the box as the box was very large and unmanageable. They did not pick Up since it was a box, yet I have 3 neighbors that placed the exact same type chair out with their trash and didn't call for a bill pick up and they took theirs. WORST SERVICE EVER. We live in Gwinnett County and have no choice of trash providers. We have to use them. It is always something- either they don't pick up at all on the entire street, or don't pick up yard waste, or carelessly leave bins out in the road. When you call customer service you are put on hold for at least half an hour, finally giving up and leaving your number to be called back. Sometimes you get a call back, sometimes not. read more

I switched from Red Oak Sanitation to Advanced Disposal Services North Atlanta because the customer service at Red Oak was flat out non-responsive and, except for the recycling team, their pickup service providers were deliberately inconsiderate. What a difference so far. Advanced provides essentially the same service for about the same price, but in contrast, their customer service has been great. Basically, all I wanted to do was pay my bill, have them pick up as advertised, and leave the containers upright and on the driveway instead of dumped on the grass. Advanced Disposal seems more than happy to do that and I don't have to put up with burned in grass spots anymore! Perfect service and I'm a happy customer. read more

Awful service. Not only does the call center not have any idea what they are doing, the actual service guys are a joke as well. I immediately canceled my service after being treated as an insignificant individual. Advanced Disposal doesn't treat their paying customers as such and they do not care about a customer's concern. I eventually spoke with a supervisor and she was very rude and unapologetic. Don't expect much out of this company. Please avoid at all costs. In discussing this with my new service I just employed, I was told that he had hired away several top employees who were so UNHAPPY with ADVANCED DISPOSAL, they just up and qui and he has since hired them. I have been a customer of Advanced Disposal for 3 years. I am about to cancel my service for the following reasons: 1. A "Live" person never seems to answer the phone. You either can hold for ever or leave a call back number. I have left my number many times and no one ever calls back. 2. I log in quarterly to pay my bill on line. If you don't log in more frequently it locks you out and you have to call the office for a reset pin, therefore, see note #1 above. The other day I cut down a bush in my yard. I placed everything outside with my garbage cans. Advanced refused to pick up the branches. The bush was a Holly Bush. My wife called advance up and the lady said they would send someone out to pick up the branches. In the morning I cut all the large pieces of branches off and disposed of them. All that was left was a 3' high pile of bushes. After sending someone all the way out to my house, which I was not aware of since they were to lazy to come to my front door, to advise me they would not take the branches. I received a recording call saying I had to bundle up the branches in sections no longer than 4' and tie them up. I could load this pile onto a truck in 2 minutes. Let this trash company deal with my credit card company since it's clear they don't want to do their job and pick up my trash. They actually tried to raise my rate when I got the new bill.
