We paid extra such that all the doors were pre-hung. We were told the double doors would be hung on-site but shipped separately due to weight. Upon install it was obvious there were not pre-hung. No one had even provided the countersunk portions for the hinges in the frame. No holes had been made for the hinges either. In addition to that, the frame was 3/4" too tall, and the doors were 3.5" too short. So it was blatantly obvious that they were never hung on-site since there was a 3" gap at the bottom. We immediately alerted Jerry's. After 5 weeks of Jerry's and OREPAC doing nothing, they eventually sent someone out to measure. Who agreed something had been majorly screwed up. None of the hinges were even put on the doors at standard heights. The OREPAC rep was supposed to get ahold of us on Monday to tell us what the plan was. Both on getting us replacement doors and providing us a weatherproof solution for the opening so that we wouldn't have to delay our move-in. (Which wouldn't have been necessary if they had taken action immediately and not wasted 5 weeks). It's now Thursday and we've been calling the OREPAC rep all week as he hasn't gotten back to us. Jerry's as well as my wife and I have called him a total of 6 times today alone and gotten no response. Meanwhile first thing tomorrow we're planning on canceling our movers scheduled for next week as we don't have even a temporary weatherproof solution that they said they would provide. So far our costs are: $1,000 in extra mounting fees since the doors weren't pre-hung. $600+ in extra storage fees. + I have no idea what the mover's cancelation fee is going to be yet. You'd think OREPAC would care about their customer as well minimizing our financial damage. But it's clear they don't care. UPDATE: The OREPAC rep finally called us back today (Friday & 5-days late) and said they would get temporary doors out to us today. Let's see if they follow through. Personally I think it's pretty awful that it took me writing this review to get them to return our plethora of calls. However, this is still a step ahead of Jerry's who still isn't prioritizing this issue.

Our house was built in 1995 and the windows had been replaced once (according to neighbors) but…read morethey were very cheap quality. With the heat we've had the past few summers and then the snow that seems to be a yearly event now, we thought it was time to get a really good widow upgrade. We also wanted out house painted after installation and Clear Choice set that up for us as well. (See my review for Triple A Painting). What we loved most about dealing with Clear Choice Windows & Doors was the personalized service we received. They have a large selection of window frame materials to choose from and our choice of fiberglass was an easy one. It was explained to us that fiberglass windows are stronger than both vinyl and wood, making them incredibly resilient to weather and climate -- perfect for PNW homeowners. From start to finish, our team of window installers provided friendly service, excellent craftsmanship, and it took only two days to install the 10 new windows in our home. Before, during and after, the team cleaned up and kept the work site tidy at all times. There was minimal damage to our landscaping as well. We can feel a definite difference in the inside temperature of our house since the new windows were installed. Our AC doesn't seem to work as hard and it takes less time to cool off in the summer and to heat in the winter. The outside look is classy and fits well with the style of our house and the neighborhood. We highly recommend Clear Choice Windows & Doors if you're looking for new windows.

We have used Clear Choice three times now. During the last time we used them to replace a window…read moreframe that was leaking water into the house. The crew that came out was very new and completely botched the job, breaking siding along the way. To Clear Choice's credit they sent out a more senior team member to fix the issue and said they would replace the siding. Unfortunately because they had to cover up all the issues the window frame is now twice the width of all my other window frames. Once the siding arrived I paid Clear Choice to paint the trim and siding. The crew came out to fix the siding and get things painted but they said they only would paint the trim even though I agreed with the project manager, Luke, that the siding would be painted as well since they broke the siding in the first place. In April the trim was painted and they said they would come back out to do the siding but they never came. After multiple messages to Luke and then to our original sales rep, Jeff (who is lovely!), we still do not have our siding painted. Jeff did everything he could to escalate the matter but after months of back and forth it is clear that Clear Choice does not have great internal communication between sales and the working technicians since even a small job could not be resolved despite multiple efforts from myself and their own colleague, Jeff. While we appreciate the work Clear Choice has done for us over the last several years, we will not be using them in the future, as I now need to buy paint and find another service to come out and paint our siding (which Clear Choice broke), leaving me in the negative for this project.

This was problematic because my crazy Bengal cat loved to lay inside the open frame, which was dangerous. The cat would basically "balance" on the one inch lever, but if she fell asleep or lost her balance, she would fall many stories! So I had to keep the windows closed and I thrive on fresh air. I brainstormed with some engineer friends with no luck, then one of the residents in my building told me to give a Mark at Aira Screens a call. She invited me to her condo and showed me the retractable screen he installed for her balcony since the structure of our building doesn't allow for a screen door that swings open. Wow! I didn't even know this type of retractable screen door was a possiblity. Mark came over two days later and showed me options for the windows and balcony doors. For the window, the screen pulls down from the top, after you push the window open. There is a super strong magnet on the sill that keeps the screen down, covering the entire sill so there is no opening, nowhere for the cat to sit. The screen is flush with the frame. Brilliant! I'll take 5! See pics of window with and without screen, part of review. For the balcony, it's the same magnetic concept, but the screen goes from right to left, rolling up into the frame. Perfect! I'll take 2! Mark installed everything a few weeks later. He does the build in his shop, after taking precise measurements, then brings the finished screens over to install. The frames match my existing trim color perfectly; he has several colors to chose from. The screens are as beautiful as they are functionable. Now I have fresh air through my condo and don't have to worry about the cat! With the balcony screen door, the little Houdini has figured out how to lift the screen up from the bottom frame and slide under, so I close the solid glass door whenever I leave the room even for a minute. That's one problem Mark can't solve! So cat owners beware! I've recommended Mark to several neighbors, each with their unique requirements. One needed a screen with a small doggy door built in. Another needed something to keep her door from springing open due to the bidirectional wind that comes through her corner unit. Mark had solutions for everyone. Fast, efficient, thorough - from estimate through installation - Aira Screens installs an excellent product and provides superior customer service. Highly recommend Aira Screens.
