Dr. Steven Wang is really thorough and made sure to take the time to get my prescription right. The equipment is all modern and cutting edge, and I really appreciated the new technology that allowed him to look into my eyes without having them dilated. He assessed which contacts worked best for me according to the specific issues I have with my eyes (i.e. dryness), and I love the contacts that he recommended. I've always had trouble with my vision. I've been to over three different optometrists in the past couple of years, they've all been either dismissive or just give up after the first two sessions. Dr. Mathew Wang is the first optometrist I've seen who has really accommodated my needs. He treats his patients with care and patience. Over a year ago my 3 year old son complained of "fuzziness" in his vision. We took him to an optometrists in H.B. who was less than friendly and rushed thru an exam an ultimately prescribed corrective lenses for him (without ever dilating his eyes). The overall experience was less than satisfactory and we were left feeling uneasy about the appointment and outcome. We decided to get a second opinion and luckily stumbled upon some really positives reviews of Dr. Wang. This will be one more of those. Dr. Wang was a breath of fresh air. He was extremely patient with our young son. He took the time to make sure he was comfortable and relaxed before the exam started. He was extremely patient and thorough. He did end up finding some similar visions abnormalities as the previous optometrists, but not nearly to the extent that was originally diagnosed. Furthermore, he did not recommend corrective lenses for our son and rather felt his vision would begin to correct itself over time. He recommended we have a follow-up appointment in a year, which will be next month. I was due for a routine eye exam today and naturally chose Dr. Wang. as expected, the appointment went great. Just came back to this office after 4+ years and was greeted with the same warmth and generosity that I remember from before! Every single person at this office is intelligent, efficient, caring, and so easy to talk to. 2 years ago, I chose my optometrist from a friend's referral and since it was covered by my insurance (VSP), i decided to get my eyes checked here. dr. matthew wang looks like a baby but he's actually a legit optometrist haha. you get the usual pre-exam tests like that big dome where you use a clicker whenever you see a light flash..but a cool thing is that they take a digital image of your eye to see if anything's wrong (extra $21 but depending on your insurance, the fee is waived every other year). the eye exam itself, i felt, was thorough and done in professional manner. i was in and out of the office within 45 minutes. doctor and staff are also friendly and efficient. another plus is dr. wang's office is opened on certain days of the week until 7pm (perfect for the working folk) and is even open on Saturdays! plus you can schedule appointments and update patient information on their website minus one star only b/c i had to pay a lot ($170 for a full years worth of contacts + exam fees)...but then again maybe my insurance just sucks haha read more

I was referred to Advanced Eyecare from my mom and very happy with her recommendation. It was easy scheduling my appointment, given that I'm that person that waits until the last week of December to get my annual eye exam, and they managed to squeeze me in so my exam would be covered by my insurance for that year. I had a short wait time in the office before being seen by the doctor (maybe 5 min if even that). Dr. Wang was thorough and didn't try to upsell or push any eye products that I didn't need, which is a huge bonus. One of my biggest pet peeves with eye doctors is when they try to 1) make you feel bad for the products you currently use and 2) convince you to buy solutions & contacts that are expensive. Needless to say, Dr Wang was not like that at all. He checked my vision for contacts & glasses, and spent time answering all my questions without making me feel rushed. The staff then helped me get contacts, glasses and sunglasses so that I could use up all of my remaining flex spending account allowance. Long story to basically say that Dr. Wang and his staff are good at what they do and will be helpful to their customers. Check them out if you are looking for someone new. read more

Terrible service and VERY overpriced. When I first walked in to their office, no one was at the counter to greet me. The one girl who did was sitting at one of the tables and gave me a blank stare after blurting out "do you have any appointment?" For me, that shows me that the receptionists they hire at this office really don't care about the patients and don't care to cater to their interests. Btw I work as a receptionist so I know what the heck I'm talking about..I would've never treated one of the patients coming into my office the way they treated me. Next, the girl told me I would have to wait and didn't even gesture for me to sit down. She never really paid much attention to me and after I finished doing all the eye tests, I was left waiting in the hallway while she spoke to the other receptionist. Finally, Dr. Wang came to check up on me. He probably saw me for less than 5 minutes. To be honest, he didn't really seem like he was trying at all to communicate with me. And this "comprehensive eye checkup" along with other services I was NEVER informed of cost me more than $150. And that's just for them to tell me that my eye sight hasn't changed and to give me a dumb piece of paper called a prescription so that I can buy more contacts. What a waste of money. Oh and not to mention, they OVERCHARGE on their contacts so do NOT buy them from here! Overall, this entire visit took around an hour..yes, an hour to get my eyes checked and a bill for over $150. There was probably more waiting around and standing in the hallway than actually getting my eyes checked. Waste of my money and waste of my time. I am truly dissatisfied with my experience here and I would not recommend ANYONE to come here. They will rip you off. You don't need to pay this much just to get your eyes checked.. it's an optometrist office for godsake. Never going back and never referring them any patients. read more

Just finished my appointment today! All I have to say is, amazing staff and amazing doctor! They don't try to "sell" you anything. Office is clean and organized, with advanced equipment. Dr. Wang is not only professional and knowledgeable, but super friendly and welcoming. I felt like I had been coming to him for a while. I haven't been to an eye doctor in a very long time (4yrs) and I just got my insurance through work and thought I'm gonna try out the office next door, I made the appointment for 430..i was running late in my office..i didn't get to the appointment until 450.. from the time of when I scheduled my appointment the office was very nice.. but when I show up 20mins late and they still saw me that just showed me how nice and understanding they are..Dr. Mathhew Wang, and his staff went above and beyond..i recommend the office for everyone.. read more

Was very content with my choice of going to advanced eye optometric with dr. Wang. He was very patient and understanding. He even had me try some contacts that i never kew existed as a new option for my astigmatism, i didn't end up getting them but he really takes it on himself to explain to his patients the pros and cons of contacts or laser eye surgery or any questions you may have. read more

From the minute I walked into the office I felt welcomed and also, that everyone knew what they were doing! Addi is a great optician who did preliminary tests with a super personality! Then I met Dr. Matt Wang...great young doctor with much knowledge. I was fitted promptly for contacts: near and far since I'm old. Tanya was the contact lens specialist who trained me in just a few minutes on how to use contacts which I thought was impossible since I have NEVER worn contacts before. A super friendly staff and a brilliant Dr. Wang is what I can say after going to this place for my eye checkup. They are never pushy about anything, give you all options and time to think which one you want to go for. They have a decent collection of frames, including Rayban and Nike. When I asked how much will contact lens cost me, Dr. Wang looked at my insurance and suggested me the most affordable ones. I didn't have to pay a penny out of what my insurance covered for me. I went to Dr. Wang for the past 3 years. I just recently relocated to FL. The technology he uses in the office is great. He was able to find issues with my eyes I did not know existed and told me to check them out when I reloacted. The staff was always friendly and very responsive. I never had issues with wait times. Dr. Wang is pretty straight forward and down to business, not a whole lot of chit chat (which I was fine with for someone I only see once a year). I would recommend trying this office out. Very good service, no pressure for extra sales, and friendly staff. read more
