Here is my 5-star experience with Schneider LASIK!!! I got my surgery done yesterday at 1:00 pm, and I feel incredible!!! From beginning to the end, it was all simply AMAZING. Alex, is the one who made all of the appointments for me. Paige, is the one who did all the pre-testing. The testing took less than an hour, and Paige walked me through everything. They are super efficient and also use high quality technology for all the testing. Dr. Schneider then comes in and explains to you what the options are. He listens to your needs, and then gives his recommendations. He recommended me to do the blended vision, which it is good for people that are in between 40 and 50 years old. He then explained everything to me in detail, visually showed me the difference, and pulled up all the pictures of my eyes x-rays. I put my trust in him and decided to go with his competent and professional recommendation -- the blended vision, and I couldn't be happier. After speaking with him, I then came back at 1:00 pm, and took my pre-med. Then they took me right in, and we started surgery at about 1:05 pm and ended at 1:25 pm. During the procedure, they give you a cute and cuddly teddy bear to hold for comfort. Dr. Schneider talks you through every single step. There's a nurse in the room counting down, so the patient knows how long the pressure will be, and it was so comforting to know that. You will understand, once you are there. Lastly, everything was sterile, clean, relaxing, professional, and I wouldn't have done my surgery any other way. Even though I had a post-op appointment the very next morning, they called me a few hours after my procedure to check on me, which I was thoroughly impressed with and felt so cared for. At the end of the day, this is what really matters. Schneider LASIK really blew me away with not only the surgery part, but their top notch care. They truly represent compassion and professionalism. Dr. Schneider was very kind and genuinely attempted to assist me with my vision issues. Unfortunately, my LASIK procedure did not yield the expected results. I had the surgery with him a couple of years ago, and it took nearly a year for my light sensitivity to lessen, which caused considerable headaches. While the procedure itself went smoothly without complications, my concerns arose afterward. I was informed that my brain would need time to adjust, as one eye would be for reading and the other for distance vision. Since then, Dr. Schneider has made efforts to address the situation, offering to perform the procedure again at no cost. However, this could potentially affect the distance vision in my other eye. I was reluctant to endure another year of sensitivity and headaches, so I have returned several times to explore alternative solutions. Dr. Schneider mentioned that I am too young for a lens replacement and explained that advancements in procedures continue to improve over time. I appreciated his honesty and he advised waiting until I am over 50. He also assured me that he would provide a significant discount for any future lens replacement due to the complications I experienced with my initial surgery. Currently, I have reverted to wearing glasses. Fast forward to now, as I approach 52, I scheduled an appointment where I received a heat treatment from Dr. Schneider's daughter to help open clogged ducts in my eyes. This treatment was beneficial, keeping my eyes moist and alleviating some discomfort. Afterward, she scheduled a follow-up regarding Dr. Schneider's recommendation for a lens replacement. During my wait for the appointment, I overheard her speaking with another patient about their needs and engaging in casual conversation about dogs, which was somewhat frustrating given my time constraints, but,was kind for her to take time and talk with her about dogs. When Dr. Schneider's daughter finally entered, she was polite and straightforward, informing me that I am currently not a suitable candidate for the lens replacement. She indicated that her father genuinely wants to assist me in resolving these issues but, based on her assessment, it would be best to defer the procedure for now and revisit the option in a year. At checkout, I was surprised to find a charge for the consultation, which had not been communicated to me beforehand. While I understand the need to cover operational costs, I initially thought Dr. Schneider was working to resolve my original concerns. I settled the bill and left, feeling uncertain about the possibility of further assistance. I do appreciate the honesty I received post-surgery, but I wish I had been better informed about the likelihood of continued reliance on glasses after the procedure. As a scuba diving instructor, my vision is crucial for reading students' expressions and monitoring the equipment we use--this was a primary motivation for choosing LASIK. I do not wish to criticize Schneider LASIK, as they appear to be sincere and well-intentioned. However, I am disappointed and frustrated with the outcome and the current limitations on potential solutions, despite the reassurance that procedures are continuously improving. I plan to return in a year to see if any new options may help. My wife had hers done at a different LASIK center. It's been a month since my post-op and my eyes have completely healed, and my corneal layer has already stabilized. I still see very small halos around bright lights and white texts. But for the most part, everything looks crystal clear. I used to be nearsighted 2.00 and 2.25 with astigmatism. Now, I'm back to the same 20/20 vision I had when I was in middle school. Idk what else to say, but I am beyond grateful, thankful, appreciative and so so blessed to have Dr. S and his team to help me the entire process of this new journey. I'm saturated in all those areas idk what else to say to describe it beside a million jillion trillion thank you's and big big (COVID free) air hugs! Lydia is the sweetest baby angel of a human, Dr. S is the best. If there's a slogan for you, Dr., it'll be "DR. S IS THE BEST!!!" And if there is already, then, of course it is! Hahah. I have been wearing glasses since I was 7 years old, contacts since I was 12. I've gone through so many years of being bullied for having "coke bottles" for glasses, grew up being poor not being able to get the "upgrades" for thinner glasses or the "cool kinds". I have had terrible vision that always got worse in turn I was ashamed to even wear the glasses at all, but I had to, so I did so in secrecy. I know this is deep for a review but I really want to share what this procedure means to me and my younger self. I reached out to them via a promo on social media and got an email very fast, then a call and we scheduled a zoom video chat to see if I was a potential candidate. After our call I scheduled an in person consultation were I was told I was a candidate after years of being told I wasn't. Getting Lasik was one of the best thing that happened to me. I contemplated Lasik for many years!! I was always nervous about the surgery process and finding the right doctor who was established and someone I felt confident with. Minutes before my surgery, I was given a teddy bear stuff animal name Seymour (love the pun) who I squeezed the s*** out of during the surgery bc I was so nervous. This is genius, bc it helped me from squeezing my thighs from turning black and blue. Following my next day follow up, I was able to read the last line on the vision chart!!!! This is HUGE for me, as this always made me emotional and gave me anxiety when I go in for my annual eye check up and rarely could read any lines. Upon leaving, I was given a celebratory bun cake. I was pretty nervous the day of surgery, but felt comfortable instantly once I got there. They are professional, nice, and everyone knows what's going on. Thank you to Dr. Schneider and his whole team everyone is every friendly and make me feel every comfortable they always asked if I had any questions but during my first visit they were all answered. They check on you to ensure you are okay and fully understand the procedure. I went in Thursday and had surgery every next day everything came out good I was nervous but due to staff and doctor being calm and reassurance on the everything being okay helped me stay calm and my teddy bear they gave me helped me I made sure to snuggle it during surgery. Surgery was done within minutes and during they would ensure I was good and then was able to see though a bit blurry but still didn't feel too much pain I was told I would after the numb drops went away but I was fine at home just stay laying down and kept eyes closed started them like directed slept with the goggles and eye patches and was able to removed next morning. I went to my post op appointment in morning and was able to see clearly no issues and confirm I could see 20/20 vision thank you. I definitely recommend this amazing team!!
