My wife and I met Todd and his team for the first time in 2013. We were planning to install over 230 feet of the fence around our property. Working on this project, we spoke with four different companies and we chose Advance Fence and Gate. During initial discussions, Todd suggested combining two different materials, vinyl (which looks great) and cedar (which is a bit less expensive), making our project cheaper and providing privacy to our property but at the same time looking aesthetic. The installation team was very professional, worked in timely manner, and moved beyond our expectations. Recently, we moved to a corner lot house of one of the relatively busy streets in the North Suburbs. This property has several sections of very old fence, which had to be repaired or replaced. In addition, we decided to install the fence around the house in order to provide some privacy. With no hesitation, we called Todd again. Long story short: Todd and his team installed over 445 feet of fence around our property (Combination of Aluminum Taper and Cedar of different heights). In our humble opinion, the team did an exceptionally great job again. The inspection showed that everything was done right on the first attempt. The Advanced Fence and Gate team made the entire project make sense for the privacy in compliance with code, and the work looks awesome. I recently had a couple sections of fence replaced, going half-in with a neighbor and called about 10 different places, only about half of which even called back (must be nice to just be able to throw away good business like that). Advanced Fence was the only one of the remaining ones who got the quote right the first time (because of the split with the neighbor, and some just mismeasured, etc), and as far as price goes, was in the middle of the pack. Theirs was also the most professional of the bunch, with professional-looking materials and the paperwork covered everything you need to know. Craig also explained everything very clearly and set expectations such as needing to have all foliage cleared first before the work could start. The result was very well-done, and it looks great. The installers were very nice and professional too, and even went out of their way to accommodate a couple special cases we needed to address and hadn't thought completely about e.g. we wanted a 5 foot fence in the front part for the dogs, but that would have gone past the windowsill in front of the window, but the installer suggested 4.5 feet instead, which worked perfectly. From calling and making an appointment for Todd to come out- they were pretty busy, but put us on a wait list for an earlier slot. Rachel called a week later with an opening. Todd gave us several options for our budget and understood our unique situation (our property and fence runs along four other properties). Our work was scheduled as promised and the crew sent out was great! David and the other two employees worked efficiently, and without significant disturbance to any of the adjoining properties. I recently bought a house in Skokie. Of course I closed on my house right before the spring rush! I called several companies for a quote. I couldn't even get a call back! When I finally did get a call back they would schedule an appointment and never show up. I was giving up hope of ever getting a fence. That is until; I found Dave! Dave was my sales rep. Todd came out in the snow in March to do the measurements, and work was scheduled as soon as I submitted the paperwork. Overall a great experience from Todd and his team at Advanced Fence. I contacted Todd in the fall of 2018 to get a price for a fence. Todd came out on a Saturday morning and gave us some ideas and options for our backyard. In March of 2019 we decided to move forward. Todd honored the price from 2018. The fence arrived in around a month and was installed without any issues. When I emailed Todd with questions or follow-up his was extremely responsive. Crew was friendly, on time and very courteous. Todd was very responsive to my questions. He came out and listened to what I wanted, gave me some options, and provided a few suggestions. They took care of obtaining the permit, built the fence in a day (only need it for part of the yard), and informed me about not needing to stain it right away because the wood won't have time to fully dry before winter. A few weeks later, I called Todd back asking about staining it because I heard conflicting advice, and he took the time to really explain why I don't need to stain before the winter season. We had advanced Fence and Gate come out 10+ years ago to put up an aluminum fence at our home in Arlington Heights. That work was great and we reviewed them highly at the time. We needed to have some maintenance work done on the fence and had removed a wooden lattice fence and raised bed garden that was originally unfenced, so needed to have that area fenced with the same style aluminum. On a separate occasion, we tore down an old chain link fence in the back of the property and put up a new vinyl privacy fence. Again, they did a great job! Advance fence did a fabulous job in quoting and installing our fence. They came out and provided a quality presentation and had the product in stock. Advanced Fence was responsive to my phone calls, and their installers were fast and precise. Rather than try to up-sell me into getting a whole new fence, they recommended simply repairing the existing fence, which was obviously a far less costly option.
