I went to this place some years back for help to quit smoking since they were listed in the nyc.gov website. Mr. Rose assured me it would work and charged me $400. There were no follow-up communications as indicated in the session. It was basically an apt. It was a rip-off. It didn't work and I quit the old fashion way, cold-turkey. I hope Mr. Rose's business is truly professional now and delivering the promised results but I doubt it. read more

I contacted the advanced hypnosis center for help with a specific condition and was assured that they felt confident treating me. Unfortunately, I found that they had no knowledge about my condition and the hypnosis at $200 a session was of no benefit. They also did not send emails that were promised to reinforce sessions. This review may be long, but I can assure you, it is a true review... I have really bad anxiety problems: with anything that moves at a fast speed and that involves no control, example: planes. I have tried Psychotherapy, Psychiatrist and nothing has worked. I heard that Hypnosis helps with these type of issues, so I googled a place in NYC and the first place I found was Advance Hypnosis Center, it had good reviews, so I gave it a try. The first time I spoke with Jeffrey Rose he mentioned the fee for the first session 1.5 hours which was around $375 if not. I agreed to the price, and thought it was expensive but fair. I was truly excited to do my hypnosis. When I first get to their office on 75th Street, I meet Jeffrey Rose, who by the way was already late to greet me for my appointment, but I really did not care about it at the time. I thought he was going to take me to his office and seat me down and talk, but he said, let's take a walk for 20 minutes and we will get back to the office and talk. I was totally fine with it, the weather was ok, and the exercise is was a good choice to break the ice. After 30 minutes of walking, I realize we were still walking. So now, he mentioned he is renting his office, and he does not have it available. Now I'm getting a little uncomfortable. We finally ended up inside a bank because it started raining. We sat in one of the sofas at bank, he then started to lecture me about nutrition and dieting. Walá! After talking about how much fish I should and should not eat, and how much exercise, and water consumption and alcohol I should and should not have, Jeffrey Rose master of puzzles, came to the conclusion that my anxiety problems were related to my 2 daily machiattos. Just for reference I come from a country where machiattos and espressos are drank progressively and almost every two hours. You may wonder why I did not mention this to him... well, I did, and he ignore my comment. So of course, now I'm getting progressively pissed. He has not asked any questions that are related whatsoever to my issue. I am still trying to be cool, and keep calm and try to continue with the "Session." One hour has passed now, and we were thrown away by the bank because they were closing. Now we are walking again, but at least is toward the office to do the hypnosis. Ladies and Gens, this office was disgusting. I went to the restroom, to find there was no toilet paper, or paper towels and just a dirty pillow case for drying your hands. Thus, I decided to abort mission. Then I asked for water, which came in a chipped, and dirty broken cup. When we finally got inside the office, we started the "Hypnosis". He started by calming me and going into deep relaxation. After that part was done, he started the process of giving positive cues to my consciousness, where did not address anything related to anxiety, but instead he decided to put cues such as: after today you will eat more fish, you will drink tea instead of coffee, etc.." of course my head is laughing as he's talking, and all I have is a big laugh and a big disappointment thought. In one of those moments of desperation, I opened my eyes to find him reading from a notebook. What kind of hypnotist are you? I thought!! I first went for hypnotherapy at the Advanced Hypnosis Center a few years ago for test anxiety. I was a skeptic before going in, but I left a true believer in hypnosis. Hypnotist, Jeffrey Rose made me feel very comfortable and my session with him was an experience that I'd recommend to anyone. My session definitely helped me on the day of the exam to be calm and collected-needless to say I passed with flying colors. The second time I went for anxiety about an upcoming TV appearance and just like test day, on the day of the show I felt at ease and confident and it went very well. The office is warm and inviting and Jeffrey is excellent with his follow-up - he is a true professional and an excellent hypnotist. If like me, you are a skeptic of hypnosis, I would recommend giving the Advanced Hypnosis Center a call. It's been 1 month since I went to Jeff Rose to help me stop biting my fingernails. I have yet to bite my nails and as a life-long nail biter (like bloody cuticles and all) this is a huge achievement. I don't even have an urge to nail bite. As I am wirting this the thought of biting my nails is actually repulsive! It's amazing. Not only that - the sleep techniques he discussed with me have dramatically improved my sleep. I now rarely go a day without at least one hour of vigorous exercise. I'm losing weight. My diet has completely changed and so have my cravings. I'm more alert. I've eliminated soda entirely which has got to be a good thing. I tell everyone about him! I had two sessions and he was very clear about how long they'd be and how much they'd cost. I was very honest about what I was looking to change and he helped me change it. I think you need to want this to work and believe it will, and he'll take care of the rest. It really is life-changing. If you are considering going, and if you have the money, you should just do it.
