I messaged Igor on Yelp a few days before we closed on our house to see if he would be able to come out to our house the day we got our keys so he could rekey our doors. He was super accommodating and told me to let him know when we were finally allowed in our house and he would come over. Fast forward to the day we closed, he stopped by at 4:30 pm and was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. He had to rekey 5 doors in total in an almost 100-year old house. Not an easy thing to do! He was at our home for about 3 hours working away and we were grateful for his service and for allowing us to feel safe in our new home right away. As new homeowners who just dropped a lot of money during closing, we were a little sticker shocked at the total cost, but he was well worth it and he put in a LOT of time and effort re-keying our doors...so we expected to pay a little over $300 anyways. On my daughters reccomendation I tried The Lock Guy on one of my visits. Even he will admit it was not easy, but between him and his partner they looked through his inventory of thousands of blanks and found one that was close. This was not a mere business tranaction, he took the search for a duplicate blank personally. After about 25 minutes he found one that was close and cut it. In addition he gave it to me on the "honor system" trusting me to pay him if it worked and not pay him if it did not. I returned to Pittsburgh and tried it a few days later. While not a perfect fit, it worked! This kind of customer service is almost unheard of in this day and age. The lock Alex sold me was not what I told him I wanted. I wanted a lock without a key chamber. I…read morecould only go by what he told me about the lock because it was late at night, very cold and dark. I choose the one that he told me did not have a key chamber. The next day when it was light outside I noticed the key chamber. I called him and asked him why he sold me a lock with a key chamber when you said that the lock only came with a keyfab, fingerprint, or the app entry. He replied that he had disassembled the key chamber and tossed the keys in the trash without my permission. I want to return the lock and get my money back. He agreed at first but later he came up with lies and excuses as to why I can't return the lock and get my money back. Now I have a lock with no keys and don't know where the keys are. I don't feel safe in my home. The lock cost $289.00 plus tax. I can't buy another lock until the money is returned. I feel like I was scammed and taken advantage of.
