I went to Comic Con last weekend, and I was planning to rent a wheelchair through the convention center. When they finally called back with pricing (the day before the con started) I was floored at the price - $250 for 3 days. You can BUY a wheelchair cheaper than that, given a little notice. So I googled "wheelchair rental chicago", and Howard Medical was the only result that looked promising. I called and I couldn't believe how nice and helpful they were, and they had 5 chairs in stock for me to choose from to pick up the same day! They were also really helpful when we were picking up, and it was only $15 a day (and they didn't charge extra for dropping off on Monday morning instead of Sunday night). The chair itself had trouble with normal walking speed, we had to go slower than we wanted to, but that seemed to be the style of wheel - the chair itself looked like new. I couldn't be happier with their service, I'll definitely use them for my next convention!

They…read morecall you ~30 minutes before they will be at your home to give you a heads up that they would be arriving. My dad and I were at home all day so it was not an issue for us; however, I can see it being difficult for someone who had a caretaker who was not at home all the time. The equipment they brought over was in ok condition. There were some that were quite dusty so always make sure to wipe everything down if possible especially the bed. The hospital bed's remote they gave us was so dirty, I had to clean it and wrap in saran wrap since I did not know where it had been haha. Each delivery is brought in, set up and taken away by one driver. All of our drivers were very friendly, courteous and efficient. We especially got along well with Hector and Mario. I do however agree with a couple of negative reviewers who noted that it is quite cold that they try to get the equipment removed as soon as a hospice patient dies. They called us probably an hour after my mom passed to schedule a time to pick up the equipment. The funeral home wasn't even there at that time. They thankfully let me schedule the pick up for a week after but it would have been nice if they could have given at least a day for the families to grieve before having to think about logistics like equipment pick up.

He informed me that it was the company that manufactures the items fault and he would call me back the next business day(Monday) with a full explanation. No call back, Monday, Tuesday, on Wednesday I emailed him about the status. He said that he hadn't been able to contact the supplier but it should be 7-10 days. How he knows this is a mystery, since he hadn't been in contact. Two things to consider, why can't they contact their supplier AND why am I dealing with a middle man, who has no quality control over what they are selling?
