We had our equipment delivered through Advacare while doing in home hospice for my mother. They call you ~30 minutes before they will be at your home to give you a heads up that they would be arriving. My dad and I were at home all day so it was not an issue for us; however, I can see it being difficult for someone who had a caretaker who was not at home all the time. The equipment they brought over was in ok condition. There were some that were quite dusty so always make sure to wipe everything down if possible especially the bed. The hospital bed's remote they gave us was so dirty, I had to clean it and wrap in saran wrap since I did not know where it had been haha. Each delivery is brought in, set up and taken away by one driver. All of our drivers were very friendly, courteous and efficient. We especially got along well with Hector and Mario. I do however agree with a couple of negative reviewers who noted that it is quite cold that they try to get the equipment removed as soon as a hospice patient dies. They called us probably an hour after my mom passed to schedule a time to pick up the equipment. The funeral home wasn't even there at that time. They thankfully let me schedule the pick up for a week after but it would have been nice if they could have given at least a day for the families to grieve before having to think about logistics like equipment pick up. read more

This is a lousy company. We ordered a bed on December 18. We were billed on December 22. Now, more than 10 days later the bed still has not been delivered nor does the sales person in Chicago respond to our numerous requests for a delivery date and copy of the invoice. This is unacceptable. Stay away from this company! read more

Awful experience. We were told our Hospice delivery (bed, end table, oxygen) would be delivered between 8am-2pm, with a call letting us know when the driver was 30 minutes away. At 2, I called for an update. 25 minutes on hold, finally was told my new time was 4-6:30. No apologies. 6:30 came and went, called back, I was told they could come some time. When I complained, I was told my mother was not an illness priority (she's in HOSPICE...they obviously know when she will die better than the rest of us??) Driver arrived at 8:30pm. No 30 min call, and he didn't deliver the bedside table. The hospital bed is beat up, the bed rail comes apart each time you attempt to move it. I wish we had an option to give zero stars. read more

Called to get delivery information. Waited online 20+ minutes. Their menu has a call back option. No one ever called me back. I called again the next day, waited on hold AGAIN. When the person answered, the call on her end went dead despite the call not disconnecting. Now i am back on hold with another round of waiting for the 13 callers ahead of me. CS called the driver for an ETA. She couldn't get ahold of him and promised to call me back once she did. 2 hours later I did not receive a callback. I had to call them. They want to deliver the bed at 9PM. What cancer patient is still awake at 9PM? Couldn't r/s bc we removed the existing bed to make room for the medical bed. The delivery person did not leave until 11P. They should be clear: delivery window is until 9P with set-up taking almost 2 hours. read more

If I could give zero stars that is what I would do. I got a call from them asking if I wanted any supplies I said NO I didn't want or need any from them. I had previous problems with supplies they had sent before and I wasn't going to get any more from them. Then about 2 mths later a box of supplies came to the house. I called them and told them I had NEVER ordered any and the lady I spoke with said the girl that showed she took the order was no longer with them. So as a 1 time COURTESY to me, I could return them. But we had to have the billing sheet which we did. I sent them back and after a few days I looked to see if I had been credited the money back but it only showed a 72.00 credit with still a balance of 173.00 no explanation. I called and the lady sd they didn't receive all the things back. She sd there were 2 things missing bur never explained where they came up with the 72.00 they did credit me. I sent everything back that was sent to me. She sd unless I had pictures to show it, she couldn't give me credit for it. This company is a total rip-off. Pls if you do use them NEVER do auto pay or leave your credit card number attached. I have found all my supplies on line for half of what they charge. read more

I can't imagine a worse experience than the one I recently had with AdvaCare. My father was dying and needed a hospital bed. AdvaCare provided one but the mattress had bedbugs. That was bad enough but AdvaCare refused to come and pick up the infested mattress until Dad's retirement facility brought in an exterminator and eliminated the bedbugs. This was extremely stressful to our family. AdvaCare accepted no accountability for its harmful actions. read more

They provided oxygen and some health equipment for my dad. He passed away today, within hours of him passing they were here to get their stuff. We were still grieving and they didn't care. They are totally worthless people in the management of this company. read more

Wayne IN, Ensures that the staff have the proper PPE as well as special training to handle these hard times we are all in. This place is dysfunctional at best. They are terribly mismanaged with misinformation. They piecemeal-ed to me information that Medicare will need certain information for a prescription from our neurologist. Then 10 days later they needed another piece of missing information not mentioned earlier. Three times this happened delaying things to happen. You never get the same consistent person or can reach the last person you spoke to which means you have to start your whole story over again with the new person. If you leave messages to return your call, they never do. Their equipment is old, filthy, banged up, and rickety. Mattresses have puncture holes and have sags in the hip and shoulder areas. The delivery driver, Pedro, is rude and arrogant. He doesn't give a courtesy call of 30 to 60 minutes ahead of a deliverable as I had requested twice. If I could give zero stars I would. Instead of being in the business of comfort and relief they give you more STRESS! Stay away from them. read more

Had oxygen tanks and a home concentrator delivered and the idiot that dropped it off did not set up anything just dropped a ran. The power went out at home and I had to get the tank to hook my father up to and they did not have the "wrench" to open the oxygen flow....After using a wrench from home which is NOT like what is to be used the tank was leaking....come to find out there was a washer missing from the regulator!!! I would NOT recommend this company to anyone as I am Stage 4 cancer and recently had change from hospice companies and have been trying to Get this company to pick up their oxygen equipment for over 3 days now. They were even very late in dropping it off when delivered . Yesterday we were told 8-4pm and then at 5pm got call that they would not be able to pick up until after 12 MIDNIGHT due fo driver had many emergency calls , or could pick up BEFORE 12 noon today ! It's after 12 noon and I haven't heard from ! I just called and asked for supervisor, yet just like yesterday was DENiED transfer to supervisor and was told she had just contacted driver and he " guaranteed " he would be here no later than 2pm today ! Yet he never contacted me with update time frame , and I have had to change medical appts so I would be here for the pick up ! Super mad at this company and how UNPROFESSIONAL they are ! I should of listened to my friend before they even delivered their stuff of how negligent the company is with customer service !! read more

Still waiting for Advacare to drop off a high- back, reclining wheelchair that I requested for my mother (who is in hospice) 3 days ago. On Monday They gave me an 8 hour window for delivery, with no delivery occurring ("driver was running late"). On Tuesday they gave me another 8 hour window- 8am- 2 pm, and no delivery again! Then the driver showed up at 4 pm ( they were supposed to give me a 30 minute "heads up" call before delivery, which didn't happen) and brought other equipment but....no wheelchair! I called to complain so they brought the wheel chair late Wednesday but it's a standard one and not the high-back reclining wheelchair that I had requested.....Ugh!!!!! The sad part of this is that I had requested this type of wheelchair because my mother had become depressed about being trapped in her bedroom in the hospital bed. She wanted to be wheeled into the living room and hallway for a " change of scene. Now it's too late because she has become confused and unresponsive. I think Northshore and Journeycare should re-evaluate their association with this poorly run company! read more

Wish i could give 0 stars but Yelp doesn't allow less than 1 star. This place is beyond rude and inconsiderate. When my mother passed away they called not even 24 hours after her death demanding to making an appointment to pick up the shower chair and walker that had been delivered for her use. Companies that lack customer service and are insensitive should go out of business. read more

Advacare delivers! After my son broke his leg in two places we were in dire need of a high-low bed , trapeze and wheelchair. Though I called late in the day, Advacare understood the situation I was in and I received a call back within a few minutes that said I would be receiving the equipment within a few hours. Everything came in excellent condition and I would highly recommend Advacare. read more
