I want to share my journey with APC- it covers several of their location (South Austin, Central Austin (Lamar St), Kyle, Round Rock) there are several people I'd like to Thank (some in remote locations with names I do not have, however if my name is familiar to you, this includes you) I was referred by my PCP for Pain Management and Surgery follow-up due to an unexpected fall off My Horse, several broken bones, Tendons torn from both elbows, and left leg, my back from Tzone to Tailbone had nerve damage, bulging disk, etc. My quality of life seemed unbearable but this Team has been putting every effort into repairing, assisting Ortho Surgeon, Urologist, even Botox Injections in Bladder Platform (this was the Urologist suggestion) it's been several years, each getting better, and the whole Team treats me with Compassion, Empathy and most of All Respect, and I want to return that to them by sharing my experiences! As I rest here after a procedure Dr Ryan Michaud and his Team at South Austin Surgery Center did this morning, I am Grateful for another Success. Thus is my Thank You Card , see you next Month Emily Helms/Kyle.

Let me start with getting an appointment. I needed to see a Podiatrist so I called Baylor Scott and…read moreWhite because my insurance recommended them. I called and it took a while to get through as it's automated at first and you have to wait to speak with a live person. Once I did I got a person that answered the phone he told me that he was in training. He did a good job communicating but told me I'd get a call back within 24 hours. Unfortunately I missed the call back so I had to start the whole process over. I called again and spoke with a friendly and patient woman who booked me an appointment for the next day. Driving in was not a problem. There is a garage for parking. I found a spot and walked in. I wasn't sure where to go and asked the person working the desk on the first floor. She told me to take the elevator to the second floor. When I got there I noticed that the waiting area is clean, bright, and in a large space. I had a brief wait and then someone called me over. She checked me in and I paid. It was fairly quick and the person I spoke to was friendly. After paying she told me to sit and wait until they could get me in for X-rays and then a room. I waited for about 20 minutes and then a woman called my name. After my name was called I met two women who took me to get X-rays on my foot. They were both friendly. One of the women was guiding me through the process while the other was working on the the computer and checking the scans. It was actually very fast. After the x-rays, I was taken to an exam room. I waited less than five minutes and another woman came into the room. She asked me questions about my visit and medical history and then told me that the doctor would see me soon. I waited less than a minute and then the doctor walked into the room. He was very friendly and professional. He introduced himself and we talked about my medical history and why I was there. He then examined my foot and we went from there. He sent me off with some options and a plan for future treatment if necessary. Overall I had a mostly positive experience at Baylor Scott and White. My only frustration was with the automated answering system and wait to get a live person on the phone. Other than that the parking lot was convenient, the office was clean and bright and everyone that worked there was friendly and professional.

Reckless and Dangerous Experience at Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care…read more I scheduled an appointment through the Baylor Scott and White app, believing I would receive care at a clinic that was fully part of the Baylor Scott and White network. When I arrived, I was shocked to learn they did not have access to the Baylor Scott and White system. Even more confusing, the building only had signage for Baylor Scott and White Urgent Care. There was no mention of NextCare or any indication that this was operated by a third party. From a patient's perspective, there was no reason to assume this was anything but a regular Baylor Scott and White facility. I came in with intense lower abdominal pain. During the brief evaluation, the provider stated it could be my appendix. That alone should have triggered immediate escalation, lab testing, or at minimum a referral to the emergency room. Instead, I was sent home with nothing but a prescription for a muscle relaxer. There were no labs, no imaging, and no follow-up instructions. I was in the same amount of pain I came in with, but now with a medication that could have masked the symptoms of a serious emergency. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts. About fifteen minutes later, I went to the Baylor Scott and White Clinic on Slaughter. The staff there took my condition seriously and quickly referred me to the emergency room. A CT scan confirmed I had acute appendicitis. I underwent emergency surgery to have my appendix removed later that day. Had I followed the guidance of the first provider and taken the muscle relaxer to rest at home, my appendix could have ruptured. That kind of delay could have led to a life-threatening infection. This was not just a poor experience. It was dangerous and could have resulted in serious harm. The most concerning part is that the provider openly acknowledged the possibility of appendicitis but still made the decision to send me home without running a single test. That is unacceptable. Masking the pain of a potentially fatal condition rather than investigating it further shows a complete lack of clinical judgment. I will be speaking with a patient ombudsman and formally submitting a complaint to Baylor Scott and White leadership. The fact that their app directed me to this location and their name is on the building means the care that happens there reflects directly on them. Patients should not be misled into thinking they are receiving Baylor Scott and White care when they are not. There needs to be full transparency about who is providing care and what services are actually available at the location. This experience was extremely unsettling. I trusted the Baylor Scott and White name and almost suffered the consequences of that trust being misplaced. I hope this review serves as a warning to others and as a call for change within the system. Patients deserve competent, transparent, and safe medical care. I nearly did not receive it.

Jason Spees at Victory Medical became the steady, compassionate presence that carried us through some of the hardest weeks of our lives. What sets Jason apart is not only his medical knowledge, but his humanity. He spent an incredible amount of time helping my son process the trauma of nearly dying, difficult diagnoses, and the fear that comes with an uncertain recovery. He never rushed us. He listened. He cared deeply. When my son experienced dangerous reactions to medications prescribed elsewhere, Jason stepped in immediately, even seeing us on the weekend and coordinating with other providers to ensure my son received safe, thoughtful care. Although my son is an adult and we live in different states, Jason honestly told me my son would need me there for at least six weeks to help guide his recovery. He was absolutely right. Through complete chaos, Jason maintained a calm, grounded bedside manner that brought peace to our entire family. It genuinely scares me to think about what my son's recovery experience would have been without him. Victory Medical is incredibly fortunate to have someone as compassionate and dedicated as Jason Spees on their team.

I am an extremely dehydrated type one diabetic I called ahead to see if I could get IV fluids. They said yes I came in one day and they were amazing. They immediately hooked me up to IV and started a sailing drip. The doctor was wonderful and told me if I was still feeling this way the next day I could come in they close at seven I asked even if I come in late. They'll see me and he told me if someone comes in at 6:59. They will see them even though they close at 7 PM the next day rolls around and I'm still feeling terrible so I decided to go in again. I show up around 5:30 and the doctor immediately lets me know that they do not know how to do IV fluids. They are not trained and they do not know how to do them whatever that is fine. I paid the co-pay and I just leave and they put in prescriptions for me to pick up at a pharmacy, but this time they put it to the wrong pharmacy after leaving I get a notification saying that my prescription is ready at the wrong pharmacy. I call victory medical to ask them to correct their mistake in fulfill the medication at the pharmacy. They told me all the doctors have left. None of the doctors are in the building anymore. They have all gone home including the doctor that saw me 10 minutes prior and it is currently around 6 PM at that time therefore that is an urgent care with zero doctors on hand and pretty much blatantly lied to me telling me they would always be a doctor on hand but clearly there isn't infuriating. I'm so disappointed in them. I feel mislead. It seemed like the doctor did not want to be there and just the second I left they decided to go home as well. It seemed like they just tried to rush me out the door as quickly as possible.

They've made improvements to parking and the rooms, but the café and food options still need some work. The check-in process for day procedures could also use improvement. However, the follow-up care after the ER visit could be better. Overall, this hospital is one of the better options in the Austin area. After reading others' reviews and their experiences, I've realized that many of the issues are common across hospitals in the US medical system, not just this one. Despite her visible dehydration and the difficulty staff had establishing an IV, she remained in the ER for approximately four hours without receiving any IV fluids. Before being discharged, she suffered a physical setback, yet she was still sent home. The following day, we were notified that she tested positive for C. diff. It is deeply concerning that a patient in her condition, with what turned out to be a serious infection, was brushed off and discharged while still thirsty and weak. We now have to wait several days to see her primary care physician for follow-up care that should have been initiated or supported by the emergency team. I am disappointed by the lack of effort and the dismissive attitude we encountered during this visit. I would appreciate a review of her case and an explanation as to why standard interventions, such as administering saline fluids, were not provided given her symptoms. We can do better for all patients.
