Let me start with getting an appointment. I needed to see a Podiatrist so I called Baylor Scott and White because my insurance recommended them. I called and it took a while to get through as it's automated at first and you have to wait to speak with a live person. Once I did I got a person that answered the phone he told me that he was in training. He did a good job communicating but told me I'd get a call back within 24 hours. Unfortunately I missed the call back so I had to start the whole process over. I called again and spoke with a friendly and patient woman who booked me an appointment for the next day. Driving in was not a problem. There is a garage for parking. I found a spot and walked in. I wasn't sure where to go and asked the person working the desk on the first floor. She told me to take the elevator to the second floor. When I got there I noticed that the waiting area is clean, bright, and in a large space. I had a brief wait and then someone called me over. She checked me in and I paid. It was fairly quick and the person I spoke to was friendly. After paying she told me to sit and wait until they could get me in for X-rays and then a room. I waited for about 20 minutes and then a woman called my name. After my name was called I met two women who took me to get X-rays on my foot. They were both friendly. One of the women was guiding me through the process while the other was working on the the computer and checking the scans. It was actually very fast. After the x-rays, I was taken to an exam room. I waited less than five minutes and another woman came into the room. She asked me questions about my visit and medical history and then told me that the doctor would see me soon. I waited less than a minute and then the doctor walked into the room. He was very friendly and professional. He introduced himself and we talked about my medical history and why I was there. He then examined my foot and we went from there. He sent me off with some options and a plan for future treatment if necessary. Overall I had a mostly positive experience at Baylor Scott and White. My only frustration was with the automated answering system and wait to get a live person on the phone. Other than that the parking lot was convenient, the office was clean and bright and everyone that worked there was friendly and professional. read more

Since Baylor Scott & White took over my long time family Doctors Practice Dr.Kim Warfield customer service is no longer existing . I spent my whole lunch hour trying to connect to her office had to listen to all of the recordings, prompts, and surveys about rating the service called 5 times and was hung up on when the representative said they were transferring me, then finally a woman said they might be at lunch.. I loved my doctor she has been wonderful I have been a patient over 20 years But the system you folks have in place now does not work.Not about customer service. Wish she wasn't with Baylir Scott & White now I have yo drive across town to ask my doctor office a question.How on earth is that helpful to me? read more

I had a disappointing experience with the scheduling process. I called about a referral marked as urgent/rush, but I was told the earliest available appointment was three months out. I explained that the referral was urgent and that I already had another appointment scheduled in two months, but I was trying to be seen sooner because of the urgency my provider noted. Rather than offering guidance or escalating the referral for review, the response I received was, "So you do not need to schedule this?" That response felt dismissive and lacked compassion. I understand that scheduling availability can be limited, but urgent referrals should be handled with more care, communication, and professionalism. I concur with the majority of reviewers....BSW has excellent doctors but have MORONS doing the administrative end of the business. In my case, it was a simple yearly "wellness" exam. My primary care physician was out on maternity leave, so I was assigned a PA to do the exam. As it turned out, the PA had nothing but all 5 star reviews and I agreed with that rating. My "estimate" for the visit was $0, as expected. HOWEVER, i was BILLED $115 for what is a ZERO co-payment visit. For two months I went back and forth between the clinic, the billing department, the clinic, the appeal department, etc. etc. The "final ruling" was that the PA is a SPECIALIST, and his 2 minute lung test was $55 extra! It will be a cold day in hell before they ever collect $115 from me.....I will be filing a complaint with the feds today. read more

Baylor Scott and white seem to be pushing their HMO and now this year they have a PPO. However, they discontinued being in network with Humana and their PPO does not cover any network called ascension or Saint David's So in essence, they call the PPO but what they have is an HMO since you have no other options My wife has infusions for MS at Baylor, Scott and white and since they dropped Humana, they have no interest in taking care of her MS any longer. We have transferred everything to Ascension and suggest that everybody else do the same. It appears that they are trying to create little or no competition by eliminating therefore, if you want to use Baylor Scott, and white you have to use their insurance. It's obvious that they care more about the money than they care about serving their patients because basically they even said that they would not honor your a continuance of coverage due to a medical condition. I will not put my wife nor myself in the hands of Baylor Scott. read more

Their billing practices seem shady at best. I went for a yearly exam which is free from my insurance coverage. I was shocked to have to pay a large portion of what they predict I would have to pay after insurance. I was confused as I had not even seen the doctor or had any procedures done at that point. They basically said I had to pay or could not see the doctor. Long story short, I owed nearly $400 after all was said and done. FYI...The doctor bills you and then the hospital bills you quite a large check separately because they own the building that the Dr. uses. It took several months of checking with my insurance and trying to do a three way call so we all could understand the wild billing practices. I gave up, paid my bill, and have since cut ties altogether with Baylor Scott & White. Ascension Seton has been much easier to do business with. The doctors seem more competent at Ascension as well. I took my son to the ER for nonstop vomiting and throwing up which had gone on for some time. We stayed there about 6 hours running tests and he got 2 liters of fluids. They told me his labs were normal just showed dehydration. They sent some anti nausea medicine to Walgreens. Picked up the meds and started right away. Nothing was helping. Took him to St. David's. We ended up staying there for 8 days. He had an elevated white count and other labs that weren't "normal". To the nurses... you were great but please report Dr's that really don't want to help. read more

I was charged over $400 for a medical exam and new patient visit in Georgetown, TX, when it was understood (after speaking to the appointment scheduler, front desk clerk, and the doctor) that I was there for my yearly wellness check which is FREE through my insurance company. I did try to fight it, to no avail. My insurance company even called them, but they refused to change the billing to the free exam. I won't be going back again. read more

While most of the doctors and medical staff are awesome, the administrative practices are absurd, do not serve the physicians nor the patients, and management CLEARLY does not care as long as a sufficient profit is achieved. BEWARE before you become a patient that staff cannot manage to make a required PCP referral through insurance, resulting in frequent overcharges. BSW accepts absolutely no responsibility for staff errors and the patient must handle all the communication between the different branches of BSW. I went in to the ER for a dog bite that had gotten infected. There was no wait and I got right into an exam room. There were two nurses checking me in and getting the details of my injury. Both were very pleasant and thorough. In no time, Dr Kaylor came in, examined my hand and calmly told me that nothing was seriously injured but I would need a shot of antibiotics and oral antibiotics for a couple of weeks. He predicted the swelling would go down in two days and he was right. The hand started feeling much better and now is completely healed. I'm glad I went in as who knows what might have happened if I hadn't. I was in and out in less than an hour. This will be my "go-to" Er from now on. read more

Medical Assistant, Patrice, was short with us, impolite, abrupt, and said commented that I was looking at her too much. She was also bossy when I went into the examining room where my husband was. Told me I had to wait in the lobby when she was the one who had escorted us to the room in the first place. I commented to the doctor and we eventually got a much more professional and kinder medical assistant. We love our physician, but Patrice needs to do something else for a living. read more

Terrible incompetence. Staggering it is so bad. Was told twice a radiological report had been sent to a doctor outside of their system and was lied to. Never sent. Marked as being told it was faxed to me (I don't have a fax) and given a time and date it was sent to the doctor I requested it be sent. I gave them the name of the doctor and his fax number and somehow that wasn't sent but instead marked as sent to me. Not a small medical issue either. Unbelievable. I have been very happy with the care I receive from all my physicians at Baylor Scott & White over the past seven plus years, but am extremely disappointed for their lack of communication regarding negotiations to renew their contract with Humana Medicare Advantage. I was notified a few weeks ago that negotiations were still ongoing and advised to start looking for new insurance which is unacceptable at this late date so close to the end of Open Enrollment. All the companies they referenced are unacceptable to me with bad reviews or previous poor experiences and I do not want to change my insurance from Humana. I am about to start looking for new in-network medical care so I don't have to change all my dental providers as well as medical. It will be their loss if they don''t get it together and contract with Humana. read more

A tad lengthy, but worth reading before you consider going here. I see another review calling this place a "sprawling criminal fraud racket." They are not far off... I went to this ER for a kidney stone. The attached image was my arm 4 days later. My wife was concerned I may get a blood clot and so I went back by the same ER desk to ask if someone could look at it, to make sure they did no major damage to my arm on the previous visit. This was all due to the administering IV nurse. They looked and said it would be okay, then billed me around $1,500 for stopping in. I was told by BSW billing not to worry and that it would be credited. Not only was it not credited, I had to file an appeal. Their "Patient Relations" team sent a letter which, in fairness, did accurately relay the circumstances of my visit. But, still concluded with them wanting the $. To paraphrase, "Yeah, you're not wrong. We did all that, but why don't you just go ahead and pay us anyway." I drove to the hospital again to find someone in admin, and ask him to explain what was happening. He emailed patient relations in a different location and they ignored him. I then had to file a complaint with TX's Health and Human Services Dept. They assured me BSW had to investigate this and respond within 30 days. That was over 3 months ago. I still have received nothing. And, since they can negatively impact your credit for nonpayment, I had to pay them. The cost of litigation outweighs the cost of payment, which is what BSW banks on. This is blackmail with diminished credit being the threat. I reasonably feel I was extorted by BSW. My family, all of whom had been treated by Dr's and clinics at BSW at some point, will not return. And, in the ultimate of ironies, my company's insurance agent recommended I move our company plan in '24 to a BSW health insurance plan. They actually have this. And, it costs less than the alternatives. I told them there was no way in hell I would subject our people to only being allowed treatment from them, and it was due solely to this incident. So, this is an exponential loss for them, due to their insistence on "shaking down" a patient as a result of their negligence. In the last decade or so, Baylor, Scott & White has been our medical services provider. If you have not been in a system like this, let me explain. We have a general practicioner for routine ailments. Our general practicioner has the ability to refer us to any specialist that we might require and they are all within the B.S & W. system. This makes virtually every visit safe and easy. I have needed the services of a cardiac specialist, a dermatologist, an internist and a physical therapist. When I get to a specialist office, they have all my information on their computer. There is absolutely no chance to get mistreated, over or under medicated or anything like that. Also, you don't have to hunt for a specialist, they have every medical discipline within their system. In every appointment, I have never waited more than five minutes. In every visit, I have never encountered a receptionist, medical assistant or doctor who wasn't polite, pleasant, thouough and caring. My doctors never rush me through an appointment; they ask many questions and allow me the same opportunity. I highly reccommend Baylor, Scott & white for all your medical needs. read more

Baylor Scott & White: I took personal time off from work to attend an in person appointment at the Round Rock Dr. Condado's clinic. I called to let the staff know I will be 10 minutes behind schedule and if they cannot see me when I make it, we can reschedule. They assured me it was ok and that I can be seen when I arrive. When I arrived there was nobody at the front desk. Worse even, the person at the front desk said he is not the person that answered the phone. I was also told they can see me an hour later. They said there was no way for the patient to contact the clinic front desk and instead the calls go to some call center that sends them a text message!!!! This poor communication system is causing hardships. Please allow the patient to contact the doctor (clinic) front desk so we can straighten out any issues and resolve them. This caused me a lot of stress. I was told a teleMed appointment is set 2/19/24 at 11:30pm. When I logged in to the BSW app, there was no appointment. When I called I was told it was cancelled (without my knowledge or consent!!!!!) Why? I was told this doctor will not do a TeleMed first time he meets a patient but all my test results are available to him and I wasn't told that when they set the appointment. I was lied or the staff doesn't understand the doctor's rule. BOTH ARE VERY BAD!!!!!! You are in a healing profession not a stress indusing one. The process went smoothly until a few days before the appointment I logged on and to my shock I saw it was a video appointment, which I never signed up for! I called and spoke with the office manager in Rowlett, TX and she had zero experience dealing with a VERY upset customer. She said that doctor is not even accepting new patients! The WORST emergency room ever! The worst nurse ever! And absolutely the worse, insane, bipolar doctor to pass the medical board. It cost me $975.00 to have a bandaid and gauze wrapped on my leg. I went in to possibly have a stitch or even a professional to put a butterfly bandage on the open wound. The guy who disguises himself as a doctor said that I don't need anything with the stitches I popped open. So he called the nurse to do his job and finish with the bandaids. I asked if he could wash it off first before, NO was my answer. Now it looks like it's infected. What a lovely bedside manner I was shown. They were pissed off, I mean really angry that I came in to interrupt what, lunch? Poker game? Strippers? Such an unprofessional, aaaah what would I call this place? It's surely not a helpful ER! One visit to the ER and one visit to the clinic, both SW location in Oak Hill. ER dr disgregarded my serious pain and sent me home with some pills. I had to scrape together my own appointment with a specialist, MRI and treatment for a herniated disc. Missed 6 weeks of work when ER could have done most/all of this in a few hours. Clinical visit to Dr. Theresa Chavez for arthritis pain. She has a whole list of rules you have to follow but the reverse when l patient needs something from dr is not the same. I have been trying for 2 weeks+ to get a new script like we discussed in my appointment however messages thru patient portal not answered. Phone calls to speak with dr routed to a triage nurse who never responded either. I'll go to a Seton provider and try again. read more

i tried to set up appointment with a doctor of my choice but was told I had to see the doctor they chose for me. When I came to see that doctor she was so unprepared, she has not got my medical records from prior doctors but kept insisting I had to do surgeries for my cancer. It was a waste of my time and money ($ 40 copay) to see this doctor for nothing. Also she kept typing off the computer, flying off the keyboard instead of talking to me and asking questions about covid which I was asked at the reception desk. Absolutely horrid ER visit. "Dr" Tobleman was the most egotistical male i have ever met in my life. Went in with a repeated super sharp lower abdominal/pelvic pain. I have a history of ovarian torsions and this "doctor" refused me pain meds for 6 hours, talked to me like I was his dog, told me all his job was was to make sure I wasn't going to die "right now", and refused to even run any tests or scans to see what the issue was. He gave me a freakin anti inflammatory for pain (keep in mind I came in screaming bloody murder in pain, couldn't walk, barely could talk, couldn't even open my eyes due to pain), and the only test he told me he would do was an UPPER ABDOMINAL ultrasound, 5 hours into being there. As if that makes any sense for pelvic/lower abdominal pain. Ultrasound tech was just as pissed. I had to call a real doctor once my specialists office opened and have her call him and tell him to do a procedure for an ovarian torsion. Finally he agreed after she called him and 7 hours later confirmed it was exactly as I said it was but he refused to test. Due to his ego and lack of doctoral skills my ovary was then without blood for 7+ hours and had to be completely removed. The nurse was just as bad, even hung up on me when begging for pain meds. Seriously, I wouldn't come here for a bandaid at the least, cause they don't even have the skills to put one on you. read more
