Gary did a flawless job patching up some large cutouts in my living room. I had large areas of drywall cut out to run in wall and ceiling wires for new home theater speakers. We hired APS to patch and replace major sections of drywall in our garage, and paint the interior of the garage. The result looks really nice. Gary and crew were friendly and professional, started and finished on time, and kept our stuff well covered and clean. They carefully taped around the pipes and conduit that we did not want painted. They even did some carpentry to frame a nook and turn it into a closet. At the end they cleaned up and mopped the floor. Gary and company originally helped me with some interior painting. It was not necessarily an easy job, as there were lots of holes in the wall to repair, lots of detail work to do, etc. They did a good job! There were a few small mishaps and issues here and there, but overall I was very pleased with the job. There were a few missed details, but Gary was more than happy to fix them. I was happy enough with the first job that five months later, they did the exterior for me. It was even better than the interior job, with more attention to minor details (for example, they filled in many of the big divots in the siding, which was a nice touch. When the job was finished, it looked good, and my neighbors definitely noticed. One of my neighbors asked for Gary's information, and I was glad to recommend him. I found the prices to be reasonable and the work to be very good/excellent. If I need painting again before Gary retires, I know who I'll call. read more

I'm editing this review to a rating of 5 after rating Advanced Painting Systems as a 4 on 5/24/19 in the review below. When we had Gary out to quote another (much smaller) job a couple of days ago, he actually went around with the blower and shop vac cleaning up some paint chips that were still on the ground, without our requesting it. Most, if not all of the chips, were not even on the ground when he finished the job below, but he cleaned them up anyway because he cares about being rated 4 instead of 5. We reiterate that Gary and company are a great hire. 5/24 review: I would make this a 4.5 rating if it was available. Gary and Enrique recently painted the exterior of our rental duplex in Hayward, including base stucco paint, two semi-gloss trim colors, and metal awnings. Gary was a pleasure to work with during the quoting and contract process, prep, painting, and final touch-ups. They were punctual at every turn, and worked consistently hard and well. The initial pressure washing threw a fair number of paint chips on the ground and into planted areas. I was in need of a painting company that was reasonably priced and could complete a job for me under a very demanding timeline. I contacted APS and spoke to Gary who provided me a very reasonable quote and promised to get the job done in time. In fact, I obtained 5 bids and APS was second to lowest out of all bids. I contracted APS for the job. Gary was very easy to work with and did as he said he would. Gary would frequently keep me updated with the progress of the project, usually on a daily basis. Since I was working full time this was very helpful because I was not able to be on the job site all the time. APS does quality work and it showed with my project. I was very pleased with the final product APS produced, as our project required a tremendous amount of prep-work. Gary of Advanced Painting Systems did a great job replacing water damaged drywall behind our refrigerator. A beautiful paint job too; shame it's behind the fridge! Gary arrived on time, was personable and professional, covered everything that could get stray paint, and cleaned up afterwards. Gary did a wonderful job working with us on our two-story single-family home. He walked through our neighborhood and gave us suggestions as to color schemes that would coordinate well with the nearby homes. He was very patient with us, as we took a little longer than usual to decide on a scheme. My wife and I are moving and we noticed some exterior paint work that needed to be done after we pressure washed the house. We got a couple of quotes but went with Steven at Advanced Painting. Steven showed up on time for the quote, was very pleasant and thorough with the quote. I liked that he didn't add areas that didn't need to be done. We received the price for the quote quickly and it was very reasonable. We received a phone call from our realtor the day after the quote stating she wanted to get the photos done in about a week. We called Steven to see if he could possible get the work done before the photos. He replied quickly stating that he would have someone out the next morning at 7:30am. As promised Jason showed up the next morning at 7:25, matched the paint that we needed for the front door and trim and went to purchase the paint. I contacted Gary Garcia because he had refinished / stained my neighbor's backyard fence. I got Gary's contact information from my neighbor and schedule an appointment with him. He was prompt in coming out for an estimate and his quote was reasonable. He did a great job cleaning the fence the first day and I could tell he and his guy spent a lot of time and care in clearing the area out at the bottom of the fence. We hired Gary to paint our whole house interior, demolish built-in bookcases, and build a walk in closet in our master bedroom. The job quickly grew to include a substantial amount of patchwork and texturing to cover decommissioned heating vents and holes made by electricians performing an electrical upgrade. Gary and his crew did an outstanding job. We truly appreciate Gary's patience, flexibility, and willingness to accommodate last minute changes, especially during the first few days of the project when they had to work around other contractor crews working in the house at the same time.
