Honestly, If you're still deciding, just book Annaaaaaaaaa! Anna is so sweet and soooooooooo patient! She doesn't try to upsell which I love. She's very genuine and man, I loveeeeeeee my brows. I had microblading done before so I have some scar tissues but Anna, the angel! She was so patient and just a very sweet person and made me feel very safe and comfortable. She gives trustworthy vibes. I didn't think my brows were dark enough after the first session and after I told her, she made adjustments for me during the touch up session and it turned out perrrrrrrf, I couldn't be happier. Thank you Anna! I know I'll see you soonnnnnnnnn

    Before and After

I'm so happy I chose Advanced PMU to get my eyebrows tatted. To start, they are the sweetest ever! Anna and Diane mapped out my new brows with precision. They took their time and used different perspectives to make sure they didn't miss a beat. They mixed the exact color I wanted and gave me an instant face lift. I'm recommending this place to all my friends and family; all I've been getting are compliments.

Advanced PMU by Anna's first powder brows on me, January 2022. She's an artist and a master!

I wrote this review originally in July 2022, and I can't believe that I haven't posted it until now... I'm such a knuckle- head! Yet, it has allowed me to go from a first-time client to a regular happy client and I have loved coming for the 1-2yr touchups so much so that when a friend mentioned that she was going to get her eyebrows done as a model for cheap at some other sketchy place, I recommended against it and asked if she'd trust me. Then I actually gifted her the permanent make up powder eyebrows by Anna; my friend was ecstatic with he experience and elated with the result! Here is that original review I wrote in July 2022, that remained "un-posted" until now and is clearly long overdue! "Anna is actually one of the 10 people I am most grateful for in 2021. This year, I was looking to doing my powder eyebrows because, well you can see from the 2 photos my eyebrows (visible on the left eyebrow) kind of naturally disappear. I was always fearful because I have actually seen friends and clients either look like Groucho Marx, or clowns, or not simply not natural, and so for years I would pluck, drive to endless threading appointments, I would draw in with different powders or whatever the latest product would be. It felt like an endless chore. Then of course everything stopped during the pandemic so I would attempt it on my own and as the end of 2021 approached, a client came over and the first thing I noticed about her were her stunning eyebrows; I thought she just had them done, so I asked if she just had them waxed and commented they looked fantastic!! She said she had just had them done with permanent make up with Anna! I replied: "These look so natural, this is permanent make up? Please tell me about this Anna, she is an artist, where is she, I need to give her my money." I reached out to Anna right away as my 50th birthday was approaching and this would be my gift to myself. In December 2021, I drove to Anna's beautifully chic studio in the valley. Everything was pristine and decorated in both and elegant and fun way. I was met by Diana who was both lovely and efficient. Diana had asked me to bring a photo of an eyebrow shape I liked. Meeting Anna was effortless. With saintly patience, Anna was able to not only duplicate that shape, but she made sure it looked natural on my face, and the whole experience was pain-free. This is from someone who used to tear up at threading appointments..." Anna is an artist and a master, clearly she loves her art and is brilliant at it! I am grateful I found Advanced PMU by Anna. I have since had eyebrows touch-up once in February 2022, and will be going in for my next eyebrows touch up soon again. My eyebrows are no longer a daily chore. The eyebrows frame our faces and the boost of extra confidence that comes from Anna's beautiful work, was an unexpected bonus. Plus I no longer have to drive anywhere to get them to look clean. Oh, and btw, I had this permanent makeup service on my eyebrows done elsewhere about 15+ years ago: I was bleeding during & after, the result did not look this good -far from that- and it barely lasted a few weeks, so I became convinced I had the type of skin that simply absorbs the product and I must not be a good candidate... Wrong. I had just gone to someone who did not know what they were doing. I was lucky I did not get scarring! If you have been considering getting your permanent make up done right and beautifully, get it done here at Advanced PMU by Anna - Anna and her team are the real pros, and ever so gentle & sweet!

Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift. It is a perfect example of a thriving shop that has learned to adapt by keeping up with changing consumer tastes.

I don't think anything can ever beat the old Arcadia location when I got super cheap and nice cosmetics for around $1 (think Missha and Majolica Marjorca, but this only happened when things reopened after the lock down), but you can still find some good deals here. Similar to the Arcadia location, there's a mix of legitimate items here and a couple questionable, potentially bootleg items, so make sure you check and read the labels and compare prices online and the such. I like how this location plays into the culture and touristy-ness of the Little Tokyo with the daruma statue photo op in front and the pressed penny machine. I'm a sucker for pressed pennies, so this was nice. I've gotten super cheap sword props for cosplay, cute super cheap random character plushies and merchandise (think generic cats), and in an ocean of blind box slop shops in LT, I prefer Maneki Neko in comparison.

Yes, part of it is because it's smack dab in the center, but the main part of it is because a lot of the businesses I like to shop at and peruse are located here, as well as lots of the places I like to get food and snacks from. I like visiting what I deem the "Anime Jungle pit" since eventually the entire underground section was taken over by businesses related to or owned by Anime Jungle, but in that pit, when there's no crazy lines, I like to visit Anime Jungle, Q Pop Shop, Little Akihabara LA (depending on the collab pop up), Kiddleton Kiosk, and maybe I got into the model kit or the TCG/vidya game shop, but not as often. Outside of the pit in the plaza area, sometimes I like to go to Monkey Pants, but it is a small shop, but they have cute trinkets and sometimes character mascots have meet and greet events, Catch on the 3rd floor, Neko Stop, Maneki Neko, Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle, the Sanrio store, Nijiya for quick drinks or snacks, Yamazaki bakery for the meat buns, Mitsuru Cafe for super cheap dango and takoyaki, and sometimes they have cool collab decoration and events throughout this location. It definitely gets crowded and busy here, the parking garage can get quite fisted, so it's not somewhere I park normally, but I will definitely visit.

However, I believe there is room for improvement when it comes to customer service. On multiple visits, I've noticed that one employee, who regularly wears a face mask, appears to follow me throughout the store while checking what is in my shopping basket. At first, I assumed it was a coincidence, but during my most recent visit, my friend noticed the same behavior. Being closely watched while shopping creates an uncomfortable experience and makes it difficult to browse at ease. As a person of color, this interaction was particularly unsettling. I hope management takes this feedback into consideration so all customers can feel welcomed and comfortable while shopping.

They also suggested buying these Japanese cough drops since I was headed to a concert (which - good looking out! was absolutely needed and helpful). They even checked the ingredients in Japanese to make sure that I wouldn't have any allergic reactions which was so sweet! Service has been consistently great every time that I've visited here. This last time I went was super early on a weekday though, so wasn't busy at all. It was shortly after they opened because I happened to have an appointment in the area and needed some beauty products for a trip. They were great with answering all of my beauty questions! The only con may be parking when it's busy or later in the day. I've tried coming here at night before but struggled to find parking when the lot was full and there weren't any spots on the street nearby. So definitely try to plan to come earlier in the day/when it's less busy.
