My SUV wouldn't start in a parking garage in Hoboken, NJ. A&L Auto Body was the only shop willing to drive their tow truck into the narrow garage to try to get it out. After making multiple trips to the garage to test various solutions, they were actually able to fix my car (when AAA couldn't), helping me avoid all costs associated with towing. If A&L wasn't able to step up, I have no idea what I would have done to get that car out of that garage. My experience with them was perfect, and I highly recommend them to anyone who is in need of a tow or any sort of car repair/maintenance.

This was…read morethe 3rd auto body shop that I visited for a quote on paint repair for a few deep key scratches on 3 panels of my car from some random passerby. These are the 3 reasons why I would never even consider doing business with this place: 1. I was quoted a price of $900-$950 at 2 other separate locations prior to this one. This older male Indian representative here quoted a cost of over $2,000. Red Flag #1 2. The other 2 locations said they would only need to paint the 3 afflicted panels. The representative here said they would also need to paint a 4th nearby panel, which had no damage, to "make the color blend." That sounds to me like the paint won't be a perfect color match to the original. The first two locations offered perfect matches. Red Flag #2 3. When I arrived, I parked my car about 10 feet away to the left of their entrance. This representative asked me to drive the car a few feet ahead on the opposite side to the right of the entrance. It was literally the same distance from him either way, so that was just plain old laziness on his behalf. This tells me that good customer service is not his concern. Final Red Flag. When I told him that his prices are double that of competitors and that he is saying it needs more work than anyone else said is necessary, he replied "It's because they aren't doing it right." Being that he didn't even have the courtesy to walk 6 steps to my car, I'm inclined not to believe him. If you are going to try to take advantage of someone with inflated pricing, the least you could do is act like you care. I wouldn't even risk the chance of doing business here. Who knows what bill they will give me at the end for unnecessary repairs.

But it was such a breeze working with Sip Auto body though Allstate and I got my car back in a week! All of the men in the office were friendly and professional- extremely thorough and gave me a brochure and business card and even offered me a ride to wherever I needed to go. It was about a 5 minute walk to be Path station which was not bad at all and it was easy to find. The parking lot is to the left of the building. Allstate agents work out of the office in the front of the building so an actual Allstate agent met me when I showed up! He took pictures of my car, then filed my claim and printed the check from Allstate for their estimate of the damage. It was fast and painless. He said I could go to any shop I liked but I figured it was easy to just leave my car where it is and they must trust this shop if it is a designated Allstate location or whatever they refer to it as lol. Then I met one of the guys from the shop, handed him my key and off I went! They do not do oil changes and they do not accept Amex. Six days letter they called to give me a heads up that my car would be ready the next day. Then as expected they called me the next day to say it was ready. I only had to pay my deductible when I showed up to get my car and was handed my key as well as my paperwork for the claim, the work done and their lifetime warranty. 27 days later... You can't make this stuff up…read more After purchasing a car down the street it got sideswiped. Called the dealership and had it towed to Jersey City Auto. The right passenger door & fender got clipped pretty good. Process took 9 days to get fixed. That was from first coming here, through my insurance company getting an appraisal till the repairs were completed. Apparently they do business with several dealerships in the area. Cars are parked in several different lots in a block radius of this place. The owner named Paul walked me through this process. My insurance company wanted to put a used door in instead of a new one. Just minor incidentals he said and paying my deductible. A new one was put on as I had hoped for. Car looks and rides just like it did before hand. As I told him when inspecting it before leaving, just hope we don't have to meet up again anytime soon.

The work that was done seems thorough, aesthetically it looks GREAT and the car parts that were replaced are functioning once again. They also have a warranty policy on parts which I believe is 6 months. Not sure what's standard. When picking up our vehicle they told us about other maintenance we needed to get done (as requested by my partner when the car was dropped off). Lady at the front desk claimed she called us about it but we got no calls or messages about it. Would've been better to get it all done at the same time and I would have preferred that option since our car was at the shop for 2+ weeks. The salesperson/administrative personnel didn't have the best communication style. She seemed too busy to answer questions thoroughly though the place really wasn't busy. The office itself is outdated, very 80s, maybe 70s. My only gripe is the extra charges you get if you pay with a credit card. Not sure if it's standard practice but the place we usually get our maintenance done doesn't charge extra for using a card. We were quoted about $340 for a job if we paid cash but almost $390 if we paid with card. That's a big difference in this economy.

They were busy but on top of it. Everyone wore white button ups with name tags. The guy at the front desk was nice for check-in. It seems like Pete already knew my car situation, as if he checked my file before hand. I really appreciate that detail because it saved time and he already had an awareness. He also took the time to walk around the car and assess unrelated damages, which I think is very smart so the auto shop is not liable for pre-existing conditions. When I dropped it off, I asked Pete "what if I think the color is off "and Pete looked shocked and a little offended ha ha ha. Pete said "the color will be perfect. The car will be perfect.
