Thank you Pete! Got into a lil accident and had damage to drivers side. GEICO reccomended this auto shop as it was close to me. They made a great first impression. They were busy but on top of it. Everyone wore white button ups with name tags. The guy at the front desk was nice for check-in. It seems like Pete already knew my car situation, as if he checked my file before hand. I really appreciate that detail because it saved time and he already had an awareness. He also took the time to walk around the car and assess unrelated damages, which I think is very smart so the auto shop is not liable for pre-existing conditions. When I dropped it off, I asked Pete "what if I think the color is off "and Pete looked shocked and a little offended ha ha ha. Pete said "the color will be perfect. The car will be perfect. We don't do shit work." He is clearly prideful in his work. They told me it would take like two weeks. I called in the middle of the second week to check in and they happily gave me an update a few days later they called for me to pick it up. My car looks perfect! It's like brand new. He told me to "leave the car with him so he can convince my insurance it is a total, not worth fixing after my deductible, so I could at least get a Blue Book price to buy another car"...what?!? Question: so WHY would he do this for me "for free"? He admitted he does not work on older cars (2007 Camry), but he WILL make the auto body repairs on this one so he can RESELL it for a profit, with full knowledge that since the pandemic, used car prices have increased by 40%...AVOID this place. Anyone looking to pay out of pocket, they are only an insurance bodyshop. Our car was hit by someone and since then we had moved and the insuranxe had changed. I called them to see if they can provide me an out of pocket estimate. The person on the phone barely tried to listen and relucantly asked me to come. (Gave all the reasons that it takes long and it wont be ready in time for lease returb etc). I still made the trip as we were desperate. Even without looking at the car better, they told me it would be $5000-$6000 and its better to go through insurance. I am sure they do good work but dont waste your time if you are looking to pay out of pocket for whatever reasons. The customer service isnt great! read more

Rather than taking my money like most places would, he showed me how a simple DIY solution would get me the exact results I wanted. Ziggy's was the second place I took my Jeep for an estimate after a drunken girl t-boned it in Hoboken on a Friday night (I know, can you believe it?). The first place gave me an estimate after a quick once-over, but I didn't have a good feeling about that place. Then I went to Ziggy's and got an estimate that included noting that the accident had slightly affected the car's alignment (something the other place missed). After wrangling with Drunky McIdiot's insurance company for three weeks, we finally were able to drop off the car at Ziggy's, and in four days, the entire job was done, quickly and beautifully. In addition, they scrubbed the darn thing to a shine it hasn't seen since I bought it in 2004... including the hubcaps. AND they tossed in a little jar of touch-up paint! (Also, there's an Enterprise right next door if you need a rental). On top of all that goodness, they were friendly and very professional. If you live in the Hoboken / JC / NYC area and need body work done, don't even bother looking elsewhere. read more

The Ziggy's team did a high quality repair on the drivers side front door of my car which had a bullet hole in it from a random shooting. (Yes, true story about the shooting... luckily I was not in the car!) They were courteous and friendly, and explained my options, so I would feel more comfortable with the work that needed to get done. When I dropped off the car to get fixed, I also pointed out that the passenger's side window wasn't working. They said that they'd let me know what it would take to fix it, when they called me with the estimate the next day. When they called with the estimate, they didn't mention the window, and I forgot to ask. And when I picked up the car, they didn't mention it either, so I figured I'd just take it somewhere later to get fixed. But then I realized that they had gone ahead and fixed it, without charging me! Great service. :-) read more

This review is for a collision repair estimate by the on site Progressive adjuster only, NOT for actual work done. My car was rear ended and in pretty bad shape, and Progressive sent me here for an estimate. This was the first estimate I had received. The adjuster spent 5 mins walking around the car and snapped a few photos then worked up an estimate. Told me my car was fine, needed a few thousand $ of repairs and was fine to drive. I had no intention of having the repairs done by a DRM since they are motivated to save Progressive as much money as possible, and took it to an independent repair shop as well. Just had to get a progressive estimate at some point to compare against my shop of choice. The other shop actually lifted the car since there was significant damage to the undersides and found that my exhaust pipe was bent and not fully letting exhaust out of the car, therefore unsafe to continue driving. In comparing the estimates line by line, we also found several items that ziggys planned to repair, while other shops strongly recommended replacing due to the severity of the damage. While going through the ins co's contracted shop/DRM guarantees the work, you should just be weary of the potentially cursory job that might be done if you are coming through an insurance company and always get a second if not third and fourth independent opinion to be on the safe side. If I had listened to this place only, I'd be driving around with exhaust backing up into my car! 2 stars for being fairly quick (only waited about 8 mins for my scheduled appointment), and comfortable waiting area (it was broken at the time but they do have a cappuccino machine). read more

I was around 20 and in college trying to make ends meet. One day while driving through Livingston NJ, a drunk driver coming from the opposite direction took a sharp left turn at the intersection I was driving through and took me head on. Thank God I was able to slam the brakes to not get killed but needless to say he pretty much totalled the front end of my Honda CRX (remember those?). I share those details because it was over 20 years ago that I was introduced to Ziggy's and the owner was nice enough to take really good care of this broke college kid. Let me start off by how quick and easy they made things... they were on time (schedules are important to me) .. when i got there Scott was already waiting for me with paperwork in hand, looked at my car, we discussed what needed to be done, signed paperwork and got my rental... I was out of there in 22 Minutes!!! How amazing is that?!! Ziggy's texted me throughout the process of the repair so i was always in the loop and when i picked her up she was better then before the accident! They are so detailed; the craftsmanship is fantastic and they blended the paint beautifully. They gave me some extra paint for touch ups and even fixed my bent tag (who does that)???!!!! Can't say enough good things about Ziggy and his shop. I went to get a few touch ups to my car with scratches and peeling paint. He said the car had been in an accident and they did a poor paint job and they deceived me. I was shocked but he was honest and gave me advice and said to come back in a week. He took in the car and fixed up all the little issues and peeling paint and wouldn't charge me. He said it's on the house and just wanted to help. I have a small collision accident due to black ice. The hood and front bumper of my x5 were damaged. My insurance company has an onsite adjuster there and he was very nice and easy to work with. After checked out reviews on yelp, i agreed to let them fix my truck. I expressed my concern on parts and eventually they worked out my insurance company and ordered all genuine BMW parts. Just like other reviews say, Ziggy himself is a really nice guy and very kind to give me a ride back to home after i dropped my truck there. And there is a bottle of touch-up paint in the cup holder when i picked my truck. They did a really good job, the new paint perfectly matches the rest of the body and the truck looks just like a brand new again. If you have a BMW needs some body work, don't afraid of letting Ziggy's body shop handle your car. i see plenty of German cars there. They said it would take 4 days and...it only took 4 days. The staff was great. Their shop was immaculate. My car was hit while parked in JC; it's my first car and I had it for all of 6 days before I saw it had been side swiped. Ziggy was friendly and candid; a full fix would be costly and probably not worth it especially if I was going continue to street park. I was originally worried about being a young female going to an auto shop, but Ziggy didn't take advantage of my lack of knowledge; told me he would recommend we buff and touch up the paint; it would be much less expensive and that he would do the same for his daughters if something similar had happened.
