He's been around a long time, takes his time on his patients and cares about your health verses just prescribing you what "you" believe WebMD tells you what you should be taking. I've been back again and will drive across town to be treated by Dr. Rodriguez. Also, Lakin was a HUGE help and extremely friendly. I got in had X-rays taken, those have since been "lost" apparently by PMI the imaging company. I smell bull...The girl who drew my blood missed on my left arm then went to the right. The first was 6 days later and the second 1 hour after my blood was drawn! After my arm bleeds out and I covered it and held pressure the girl says, "that's only the second time I've ever done bloodwork" WTF?!? WITH ZERO SUPERVISION?!?! NO WONDER MY ARM LOOKED LIKE THAT!! I call to ask about my missing X-rays today after 2 days of not hearing anything from them. This place is by far the worse clinic I have ever been to. Only reason why I went is because at least for the time being (will probably change soon) this is who my chiropractor refers people to. Wait time was almost two hours in an empty waiting room. Medical assistant appeared to hate her job. All I was going there for was for my final follow up thank god. Never again. Dr Hillary was very nice and professional during my first three visits but Dr Arion Shepard for my last visit was just nasty. No one ever apologized for having me wait two hours for a 30 second talk with the unprofessional "Doctor" Nurse practitioner. I'm glad Im done with them. If you have a choice DONT come here. This past week I had been suffering from a terrible bug that caused horrific, constant coughing attacks before advancing to a stuffed right ear. It was so bad that the last sentence would sound like, "This past week, cough, cough,cough...." This bug was now turning into a beast that lived in my chest. It was time to visit the doctor. Yesterday from 4:30 to 7:14 p.m., I spent a few hours of my life having Advanced Urgent Care Nightlight Pediatrics work on bringing me back to health. The best way to describe the visit is being in a movie that could be called "Bug Busters." Scene 1: The Waiting Room Advanced Urgent Care is located in the corner spot of a Home Goods/ Lowe's plaza closest to Eastern and St. Rose Parkway. The waiting room is not the biggest or cleanest space. When I walked in, the receptionist had me fill out two sheets of paperwork and asked for my health provider card and driver's license. She was not the friendliest person in the world. Then again neither was I on account of my coughing. With that said, Advanced Urgent Care accepts a large variety of health providers. The fact that they accept Aetna is what led led me here. Once I filled out the paperwork, I waited 14 minutes to enter the corridors of the clinic. Scene 2: Introductory testing Once inside the clinic, one of a few nurse practitioners that helped me today, asked me some questions about my medical history. She would take my temperature and write down some notes for Dr. Don Gregory. Scene 3: Dr. Don Gregory's examination The nurse practitioner led me into another room where Dr. Don Gregory examined my breathing and ears. He directed me to breath in and out deeply then checked my ears. He seemed like a nice older gentleman who would tell me that he is going to make me healthy. This would be the most that I saw of him. I would wait for the next part of the process. There would be a lot of waiting. It is a common perception to think of walk in clinics as the McDonald's of health care. As I waited, it was obvious that I was not waiting on Ronald McDonald but a Doctor who was busy balancing his time between a few patients with their own pain. It was also obvious that regardless of the steps of the process that the visit would end with a prescription for antibiotics. Scene 4: X-rays After a few minutes of waiting, a nurse practitioner leads me to another room. She would take x-rays of my chest. For the record, Advanced Urgent Care features top x-ray equipment. Scene 5: Ear flush After more waiting, another nurse practitioner led me to bay three (the rooms are called bays) to flush out my ears. I'd spend several minutes lying on a bed leaning on each side of my ear. With the fluid and stuffed ear, I could just make out the roaring traffic on Eastern and the basketball game on the radio. Just like all the nurse practitioners here, the woman who flushed out my ears was professional but not too friendly. Scene 6: The prescription As expected, the visit ended with a prescription. A nurse practitioner gave me the prescription and a note excusing me from work. Dr. Don Gregory closed the visit by emphasizing that I drink lots of fluids. In hindsight it would have been nice if he would have told me what I have wrong with me. 2 minutes ago This place should honestly not be open or operating. AVOID! Especially for Covid testing. A staff member here phished for me over social media, disclosed test results over social media, and I was misdiagnosed (also by this same staff member over social media). I was never able to talk to the doctor again after being tested. I was later charged about $1200 out of pocket for the test because they use an out of network lab so it doesn't matter at first if they say they take your insurance. I filed a grievance against this place and luckily Anthem took care of my expenses. Save yourself from the headache, negligence, and potential scam and just get tested at Quest or LabCorp. read more

Personal opinion - DO NOT come here. I usually like to say my my experience and let you make up your own mind, but this experience is like no other. First and foremost, don't call. They won't answer. Ever. They will send you a text for communication. So I first came here in January where I met with Nurse Practitioner Arion Shepherd. I explained my issues, and tests were done where medication and follow ups were prescribed. This was January 16th. Sadly my insurance was giving me issues with my prescriptions so I attempted to call to see how to get around it. Of course no answer but via text they advised that it's a prior authorization issue and that they will let the proper department know. This was January 26th. I then asked how long prior authorizations usually take, rather than providing good customer service, they advised "I don't do prior authorizations". So I attempted to get in touch on January 30th with the proper department. There is no extension or way to speak with that department. So I reached out that day stating exactly that via text (again no answer) they asked for my personal information which I provided. They did not respond back and I sent a follow up text and did not hear back from that either. I then called my insurance same day who advised they have not received any prior authorization paperwork. I then relentlessly called until I spoke with "Menchie" who advised that the person in charge of prior authorizations is the office manager Krystal Benson and was not very happy with me over the phone. Krystal then responds to me on January 31st that she told her staff the day prior to let me know that it was denied (which I don't understand why they didn't tell me and I don't understand how that is possible when my insurance stated they didn't reach out). She then told me about other options and rather than continuing via email because it was very confusing to me, I set up an appointment to meet with my primary and talk it over with her. The appointment was for today, March 7th, at 9:30. I checked in at 9:28. I was promptly taken to the back to check my vitals and asked about the purpose of my visit which I explained it was to go over my last visit plus two new reasons. I was then placed in a room at approximately 9:40. A different nurse practitioner finally walked in at 10:55 (after I had exited the room at 10:40 and asked about the wait to which they said sorry we have other patients). I asked where Shepherd was where they said that she no longer works here and that this is this nurse practitioner's second day. She then advised that the reason for today's visit was to refill medications. Extremely upset, I got up, explained my reason for being upset, and decided to ultimately leave. While exiting, the nurse practitioner told the front office employee "Lizzie" the reason for my being upset. Lizzie then stated that she texted all of Shepherd's patients that she no longer works here which I did not receive and pulled up the text thread as well. I explained to her as well why it is that I was upset to which she advised that she canceled my appointment and while on the waiting, a woman in the waiting room told me that she is going through the same thing right now, so I turned to her and began to express how I upset I was. Less than 2 seconds into talking, Lizzie yells from the office "Ok bye you can leave now". This woman spoke to me and I responded and you're going to yell at me? I responded with "You need to watch your tone, what's your name" and she then yelled out another "Snarky" remark along with her name Lizzie and again "BYE". I have had good experiences, I have had bad. But never have I had such an atrocious experience from my first visit to now. This location is a joke, and really needs some restructuring. Owners, please take this into consideration as (with the woman who was in the waiting room as I was leaving) I am definitely not the only one. Shame on your employees and staff. read more

This place has been awful every time I come. Don't bother making an appointment you will wait 1.5-2 hours regardless. Do not make this your primary office. I have sadly been coming here for 2 years because i Was to lazy to switch offices. Today was the last straw. They did not have my blood results ready they had 2 weeks to notice. This is the 2nd time they misplaced or lost my results. I left the office after 2 hours with no results and a failure of a procedure I was told could be done. I waited 2 hours for the dozenth time. To hear again how incompetent they are. I have no blood results and no procedure I was told could be done at my last visit. I let them draw my blood because I was coming back for my nose to be cauterized 2 weeks later. So I assumed ok draw my blood cause I'm not gona wait 2 hours just for blood results. The PA basically told me after 2 hours when she was taking my vitals they don't do that procedure that the dr basically lied. I remained calm because I just sat for 2 hours and wanted to hear from the dr so I could watch her lie to my face. She then came in said my blood work was not ready they are getting it still. I said you knew I was coming in for 2 weeks why was I not called to reschedule if u didn't have it. After going off at her they sent in a friendly face and she explained they can't even find my blood results in the system and they will have to call me to come back in. I lost it in the most calm manner possible. I got a refund and told them to cancel the referral. This place is the most unorganized office nothing runs smoothly. If your still coming be prepared for the long wait bring some food and be prepared to receive the wrong diagnosis and come for 2 extra follow up visits. read more

Not sure how this place is still open. Walked in to just get my ears checked. There was one guy in the waiting room and me. The receptionist told me that I could not fill out the forms inside. She told me I had to fill them out outside. It's Vegas in the summer during a heat advisory. It was 113 degrees and I had to fill out the forms outside. She would not let me fill them out in the waiting room. I pleaded with her to allow me to fill them out inside in the air conditioning room, and she refused. I've never heard of such a policy. Clearly there is no 'CARE' about them. I would avoid this place at all cost. Very apparent they are imbecile, have zero common sense, and don't care about your well being. read more

I went in because I felt like something was stuck in my throat, which that in itself can be very nerve-wracking! They have a sign inside that basically says they will go in the order of when you arrive, but serious health concerns may be assisted first. You would think that someone who may or may not have something in their throat would be very concerning, as opposed to someone who maybe has a virus that needs medicine. Anyways they took me in after over a 2-hour wait. The doctor came in and looked in my mouth with his light, touched my neck, and then basically told me they weren't able to help me. He said they didn't have the tools to properly assess my situation, and referred me to an ENT doctor. So basically I waited for over 2 hours, and PAID a co-payment, for them to not be able to help me. Now let me get something clear: I'm not going to take out my frustration on the staff because, in all honesty, they were super friendly and kind. My frustration is in the business' best practices and policies. If you KNOW FOR A FACT that you do not have the tools to help the patient, WHY MAKE THEM WAIT (and PAY!) for a service? (I know this can't be an "Urgent Care" thing because I have gotten turned down before and referred elsewhere when I went to Care Now in the past. They were kind enough to tell me upfront that they weren't able to help me so that I didn't waste my time or money.) I'm glad that they were able to get me an appt with an ENT (unfortunately which was 2 days later, because of Nevada's health system that sucks), but I'm not happy that I had to wait 2 hours and pay for that. And the icing on the cake? When I went to the ENT, they had found that I didn't have anything in my throat but I had major signs of a sinus infection and postnasal drip, which was causing my throat to be irritated and made it difficult to swallow. If the doctor I saw, spent a little more time in examining me doing his due diligence, (looking at my nose, feeling my face) then maybe he could've found that, to begin with, and I would've gotten my money's worth. read more

And with unmovable hand and big purple bruise that lasted 2 weeks. Not even the ice pack calmed the pain.... 2. I called 3 to 4 time for my lab results. They always say they will call me back never did. 3. The front receptionist she thinks she is a bad ass and treats people like unexperienced kindergardens. But I told the truth in her face..First like supposedly pro you are... should call back like you say you will and at least tell us to go in person for results and not leave you waiting... liars and they only care to drain your insurance for money. Listen to all the other reviews. This place isn't busy for a reason. I give it to the one assistant (forgot her name) who took our vitals and statement since she was kind and empathetic but everything else was a disaster. My wife and I got into an accident so we came here. First of all the actual wait time took like 1.5-2 hours when it wasn't busy at all. We get called back and when we actually got assessed by the ARNP she ordered X-rays so we waited and guess what, they forgot we were still in the room waiting for the X-rays! That was like another hr just waiting in the exam room. Once we got to the X-ray room the X-ray machine was acting up so the tech had to take multiple attempts while holding us at these awkward angles for long periods of time. When we finally finished we were prescribed meds. I notice my wife's meds went through and mine didn't so when I called back I get a rude comment "you didn't even give it time. You need to give her time to put it in." I wait a couple days later and the prescription still isn't put in! Then after everything is said and done no one even contacted us to interpret the X-ray results to us! read more

If I could give this business a minus 5 stars I would. Start to finish this was a horrific experience. They never answer their phone so all Communication is through texts. It took 19 texts to get an appointment and frequently they just quit texting in the middle of a Conversation. By the time they got back to me appointments that were offered were no longer available. I asked for a lab slip in advance of my appt so we could discuss the results and was told the office manager would get back to me. They never did. I went in for my appt and was the only one there. They had a sign saying masks were required. A man came in with three kids none of them wearing masks. I asked the receptionist if masks were indeed required and she said yes but still didn't make him wear one. 45 minutes after my appt time a man came out very upset that he had come in for an appt and wasn't told his provider was no longer there. I heard the male employee say what the f$&@. Turned out my provider was no longer there either. There were no other patients and I waited another 20 minutes. So after an hour past my appt time she finally came in and had no idea why I was there. She listened to my chest and left. I needed a new prescription for my medication which was the whole point of the visit. I waited a few days and was notified by my pharmacy that it was ready. I texted the urgent are for my test results and got no response. Finally a week later labcorp sent me my results. Three weeks after my appt I got a call saying with my results. I was appalled that she called in my prescription without any results. I also feel they violated HIPPA in their texting. They referred to me by another patients name and then claimed they had never prescribed my medication to me which was not true. The poor customer service, incompetence and rude staff earns them a minus 5. read more

I had a wonderful experience both times I had to go for breathing problems. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the nurse even got me started in getting an X-ray before the dr came in so that the dr could see what was up right away. I never had to wait too long and always felt welcomed. The waiting room is a little dark and small, and could use some TLC, but otherwise I felt like I was in good hands. She was providing her OWN private health insurance and they declined and stated "It gets too messy so come back tomorrow when you have lawyer information. The private insurance won't pay it if they see car accident" I called to complain since they refused to see a patient and they stated "she wouldn't be reimbursed if she went through her own private health insurance" AH! Now there is the truth! What happened to "the private insurance won't pay it" BS? I have, sadly, been in a couple of car accidents and have always used my private health insurance and NEVER had an issue with them covering the bill. I stated "She doesn't give a damn about being reimbursed! The doctor or the office manager/staff obviously don't want my sister to use her own private health insurance because then they have to pay whatever the agreement is with the provider. I understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that medical staff has fears regarding the spread of COVID, however to turn away a patient because of a mild fever (that is clearly linked to an infection) is ridiculous. My husband has every indication of having a UTI or bladder infection but because of his fever he was refused. We went to this location because they were the first place we contacted that had a wait time that was less than 3 hours and after filling out paper work we were told that they wouldn't see him. Our emergency rooms are already overwhelmed and hospital staff should not have to deal with these type of cases. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more

This place is just unorganized. First visit fantastic. Then I needed refills. I called and scheduled an over the phone appointment. The doctor called and started going over my blood work. I had already been to the office for that. Then the doctor asked what this appointment was for. I explained it was for refills. She said ok and we talked about if the medication was working well. The appointment ended and I waited a few days not hearing from the pharmacist. Turned out they never got any refills sent to them. I called my doctor and explained. They asked me if I talked to the doctor at my last appointment about refills. That is the only thing the appointment was for!!! They said they would fix it. I waited again with no updates. My daughter's "15 minute" wait turned into an hour and half because there was miscommunication between staff and her chart was misplaced. Second, Tiffany is quite possibly the worst. She absolutely zero customer service skills, social skills, or class. There was one girl that was actually good...i believe she was an MA. After that no one else is not worth mentioning. I was at this place for an hour and a half with one person in front of me and never able to see the doctor because I had to leave for work appointment because I didn't know I would be there that long. It took 20 minutes to do the EKG and blood work but they managed to lose my labs and EKG was completely wrong it showed I had a heart attack I had COPD I've never had an or abnormal EKG in my life . They finally refunded me for never seen the doctor in the labs that they lost but now they want to charge me for the EKG which was wrong because I had a second one done and it was perfectly normal 10 days later read more

It's actually really sad bc I've always loved the doctors here. I came in for a last minute appt which they were great about... I showed up everyone was friendly....until it came time for me to pay.... I had forgotten my card home so only had $100 bill on me...being a cash patient I made sure to ask about cost and was told my visit would be 60 and my lab work 15. That's $75. And it's close to 4pm. You don't have $25 to return to a patient? Ok bothersome but she tells me there's a bank in the lot... so I walk over and get change. When I came back and gave her the money for my visit she takes it and before I even get back to my seat the girl at the desk proceeds to shut the window and talk about me. The window doesn't sound proof stuff and the rest of the patients in the waiting room got to hear her as well. Point is...you never know what other ppl are going through. Was it an inconvenience and could she see it on my face probably yes... did I rant and rave and call her out of her name no. Had she known me and all I was going through would she have bashed a perfect stranger in front of other strangers making her feel less than? I'm adding to this review... Because apparently the front desk got a call about my one star post as I was checking out and the girls smirked at me said she didn't care to the other Lady behind the desk and that it was posted... This is the worst medical office that I have been to in my entire 59 years of life! Run, don't walk, away from this facility! I had an appointment to see Dr. Rodriguez at 3:20 on the afternoon on 7/26. As a new patient, who was referred by my insurance company, I arrived 10 minutes early so I could fill out new patient paperwork. There were only two other people in the waiting room, neither of which were injured or seemed ill. Both of them were ahead of me in line and were triaged before I was, which was fine. After about 30 minutes in the waiting room, I was taken to a triage nurse, who took my vital signs. However, he didn't weigh me. (Isn't that standard when seeing a doctor?) Then, I was taken to an exam room. I waited there for another 50 minutes. Nobody came by to let me know what the delay was, or how long it would be until the doctor would be here. I did hear from the doctor indirectly, though. He was in the next room singing (yes, really) and joking with the patient! Professional? I think not, especially when other patients are waiting. After an hour and a half wait (and remember, I had an appointment,) I decided to leave. I went to the front desk and had them return my paperwork to me. (I didn't want them billing my insurance for a visit that they never conducted.) They also returned my co-pay. It was interesting that the staff didn't offer an apology for the inconvenience of the long wait. I guess that they are used to people who get up and leave without being seen! The staff didn't do themselves any favors by leaving me in the exam room so long, though. While I waited, I had a chance to notice the dirt and litter that was in the corner of the room, behind the exam table. Aren't doctor's offices supposed to be clean and sanitary? This one certainly isn't! Once I left the building, I noticed that one of the staff members was sitting on the curb in the parking lot, smoking a cigarette right in front of the office! Really? What kind of impression does this make? I called United Health of Nevada and filed a grievance against this facility. It is completely unacceptable that a new patient - or any patient- needs to wait while the doctor sings! Further, a dirty doctor's office should always be reported. If the floor is this dirty, who knows what else is unsanitary? In hindsight, I should have known that it wasn't going to be a good experience from the moment I walked in the lobby. How would I have known? The tropical fish tank in the waiting room was in dire need of a cleaning (red algae all over it) and it was low on water. **If they can't take care of their lone Picasso trigger fish, then they won't be caring for people either.** There are many great urgent care facilities on Eastern Avenue that are clean and professional. Do yourself a favor and visit one of these if you have medical needs, instead of this horrible place! read more

Took my daughter in severe pain, it was time to close first they said they will give her some IV proteins them all of the sudden sent her to ER with no treatment. So call Dr said has she know if was severe pain would have sent her to ER right away. It was written down in her notes. No Advance Care at all. read more

For the past 2 years, I've tried to use this place as a my primary care office, horrible. The wait is ridiculous, the customer service non existent, the environment dreary. I will not be wasting my time with this as a primary care office any more. It serves its purpose as an urgent care office, when you expect long waits, no relationship to your doctor and no followup but definitely not a good place for primary care. read more

The service here is horrible. The receptionists are extremely rude. If you do go, do not see doctor David- he ignores what you have to say, curses, and refuses to talk to you once he's "done" even if you have other things you want to talk to him about. The overall service is rude, not worth your time. read more

I had to go to this urgent care do to a bicycle accident which did a ton of damage to my left knee. This urgent care took x-rays and provided care above and beyond in these trying times. I will continue to use the for urgent care when ever I need it. The doctor and staff, and mainly the office manager Ashley really went above and beyond to help me wit obtaining everything I need and referring me to a great Orthopedic surgeon. I have lots of damage to my knee and Dr. Shepherd explained the MRI in detail over the phone so I can know what to expect to hear from the surgeon.
