Not happy with their customer service. I came to Advanced because they were 5 minutes from my house, had a high rating here, decent selection of frames and accepted my insurance. I spent over $700 out-of-pocket on a pair of glasses, and my insurance paid for the rest. Within a month a lens scratched and Advanced repalced it. Less than a year after my purchase what looked like a grain of sand became embedded in a lens. Also I noticed the red paint was starting to chip from the metal frame. I came in and immediately the person at the counter said something like sorry, we no longer carry that brand. Not understanding why that should be my problem, I asked to speak to the manager. He was pretty rude & said there was nothing that could be done about the paint and then acted like he would do me a big favor - rather than standing by his product - by replacing the lens, while trying to make me feel like this was my fault. He expalained that he had the same brand glasses and multiple children who were regularly grabbing them off his face, yet he never had a problem with these glasses. That's a great story, but I'll never return here! read more

False advertisement literally said to me yeah that's what I did say but sorry for the miscommunication that's not miscommunication. You literally lied to me so what happened was I got a prescription and they sold me some frames so first you tell me the frames are $1200 I'm on disability I'm disabled. I can't afford that. Let me see what I can do give them to you for $700 and the reason why I'm gonna give it to you for seven dollars because For a whole year if anything breaks on it scratches will fix it for free for a whole year less than six months the glasses broke bitch. Tell him he told me oh yeah you have to pay to get it fixed, but you told me the manager you told me that it was covered yeah I know I said that, but you have to pay is this even legal then he says I'll fix it one time for free then now it's all no void no what happened to my 12 month warranty on top of that let me tell you on top of that he says and you can't even get the frames that you paid for you have to pick out a different set of frames. Strange place, eye test was very short, when I asked the receptionist why it was so short she decided to ramble and repeat incoherently because her ego was too big for her to say the magic words " I don't know" I will find out for you. They seemed obsessed with pushing for the extra $40 so you didn't have to have drops in the eye. Tv was blaring away so you couldn't hear what anyone was saying. When I moved into the area a few years ago I went on the search for a new eye doctor. Although, this place isn't too close I am very glad I gave them a try, and its totally worth the drive each time. The entire staff is fantastic, in fact Dr. Katz is my favorite eye doctor, and this is from someone who has had 33 years of eye doctor visits. I also love how this place uses the latest and greatest technology. My recent trip I purchased a new pair of prescription sunglasses. Their prices are competitive and I they did an excellent job fitting them for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more

Awful customer service no consideration for my situation. I know healthcare is broken including exams. My health insurance only pays for an exam every other year. So I asked for a copy of my prescription. I need new sunglasses. Their sunglasses price point was rather high for me. At the top of that it printed out prescription it said expired. So knowing that a health insurance only covers an exam every other year, this clinic determines that an exam is needed every year. And then makes it impossible for you to take your prescription somewhere else. The young woman who spoke with me gave zero fucks about my experience. Customer service is dead. I was told my glasses would be under $100 with insurance then they raised the price to $150 without telling me, then I was told it would be a week and a half for them to ready and then I was told two weeks and now I have to wait now three weeks for my overpriced glasses to come in. AVC has a variety of styles and brands that I can choose from and their customer service is phenomenal. The doctor here misdiagnosed my corneal ulcer and I ended up in the emergency room to get a correct diagnosis. I was able to make a last minute appointment for eye pain and was told they would have to do a complete eye exam to bill insurance. When I arrived for my exam, I was asked to fill out paperwork in a cramped waiting room with a barely present receptionist. After 20 minutes, I saw Dr. Katz. She was pleasant enough but seemed to be rushing through the exam. When I asked questions about my discomfort and the medications she prescribed, I got short, unhelpful answers. She clearly wanted to get out of there for the night. Between the misdiagnosis and a generally unwelcoming atmosphere, I most definitely will not be returning to her for my eye care. read more

Had great service, super impressed! Easy appointment - front desk Jordan was able to squeeze me in the very next day and husband in two weeks. I had two insurances from overlap on my husband's benefits, she figured this out without me telling her from lookup and told me which was cheaper for my eye and contact exams. The other place wanted me to wait 1 month for eye exam and then go back for contact exam after another 2 weeks later, nope! Dr. Mary was super thorough for the exams and put me at ease, over communicated everything which is awesome to make sure I understood why she was asking. They are still very Covid conscious and had masks and sanitization for everything. The other lady who helped me pick the frames for glasses was also super kind and had a good eye for what suits your face. They do the anti-glare filter for you as well. Not the cheapest, but it's nice to be able to try on in store and get something you know is right for your face, and a 1 year warranty! read more

Went here for an eye exam when I needed to upgrade my prescription. Was very pleasantly surprised with Dr. Hargis, she was extremely thorough and patient and answered all my (admittedly annoying) questions. I normally wouldn't write a review for an eye exam, but I have had several over the years, and was super impressed. The facility was nice, they had a good selection of glasses, and the doctor really took her time to help me get the perfect prescription and explain the pros and cons of different contact types. I wanted an inexpensive replacement pair of glasses for my disabled husband with similar frames to what he had The sales person with the inch long false eyelashes said none of the " budget frames were right" and pointed to another rack. Dr. Katz and the staff at Advanced Vision Center have given my family stellar care for the past couple of years. Dr. Katz herself is a very knowledgable, caring doctor who has provided me with more than just vision care. I have relied on her expertise to see me through (no pun intended) a rather serious eye problem that I had previously only trusted an eye surgeon to care for. She has proven herself to be a more thorough and caring provider than the specialist! The staff at AVC is super nice and one of the women who works in the reception area (forgot her name) is especially knowledgable about insurance -- a rare find these days! The waiting area is small and comfy, with complimentary coffee, TV, and magazines. There is never a very long wait. I do not feel overly pressured with sales pitches to purchase glasses or lenses here, which is refreshing. That said, I did purchase glasses for my child, who is very picky and actually found a pair to their liking. On top of all that, this facility has state-of-the art machinery for testing your eyes. I was referred to this business, but unfortunately, my experience was beyond frustrating. I specifically told the doctor I did not want progressive lenses, but that is exactly what I received. I was told that that is what I needed,even though my old pair were bifocals that simply were no longer quite strong enough. I simply needed a little stronger prescription. I was billed more money as they are more expensive, even though I did not order them. They went back and one of the techs had no clue what she was talking about and didnt know what a blended bifocal was. I get the new pair and now must hold reading material up to my nose to read. I'm told that I need a stronger prescription so now rather than reading with paper on my desk, I am told I have to hold it up to my nose. I understandably am very upset at this point and tell them that is ridiculous. Now I have to go back in again to have my eyes checked again and am told that I should be able to see with what they determine. I wait about 6 weeks (total process took about 4 months) I finally get the glasses and the reading part is better than before,however, I can read better with my old prescription. The distance prescription of the bifocals was fine. I decided to finally cut my losses and adjust my vision while driving and tilt my head down while looking at the dashboard instruments , as the lower part is blurry whereas my old prescription wasn't. I basically felt as though they were really frustrated with me and acted as though I was being unreasonable, but I just want to be able to see and I wish I had never gone there. To add insult to injury, I had bought my own frames and their policy is that they are not responsible for any damage. The plastic on the arm on one side was broken off. I didn't even bother telling them. I will never go back there. $300 that I wished I hadn't spent. read more

I have been putting off a long overdue eye appointment as well as not looking forward to it. When I tried scheduling an appointment at another particular place that I will keep nameless, I could never get in to be seen because they would continuously cancel my appointments due to the doctor needing to leave early? Frustrated at that point I decided to try Advanced Vision Center because of it being close to where I work with having no expectations at this point. From the beginning to the end it was so much more than I expected. The staff were not only professional but extremely friendly and down to earth. I was very impressed with how thorough of an examination it was. Now the hard part! Picking out frames. Never an easy task for me. The women who was working the front desk made my usual anxiety ridden experience a pleasurable one. She truly made it a much easier experience for me.
