I went in to purchase a pair of eyeglasses, with my prescription, and experienced the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The woman did everything she could to talk me out of buying a pair of glasses there and she finally succeeded. I walked out without new glasses. I had corrective vision (PRK) surgery here with Dr. Keshav about 6 months ago, and I still regret it every day. Summary: This place is the definition of an assembly line, the doctor made a mistake during my surgery that caused delayed healing and tremendous pain (specifically, he put the healing lens on inside out on my freshly lazered eye, which caused a significant scratch), and they had the WRONG prescription in my records, so that I was "overcorrected" during surgery and now have worse vision than I did wearing lenses. My prescription has been -2.75 for nearly a decade, but their records started that I was -2.25. This mistake was confirmed by Dr. Brenner during my follow-up call with him. Shortly after my surgery, I brought my issues to the attention of the office manager, who was quite kind and told me that Dr. Keshav would be giving me a call to explain what had happened (it sounded as though I was on speaker phone, so I believe Dr. Keshav was listening to my concerns), and that I should also expect a call from Dr. Brenner. That call from Dr. Keshav never came, so I called Dr. Brenner, who didn't respond to my voicemail (when we did connect, he said he was at a conference when I left the voicemail, so he never got it.). Finally, when I called him again, he acted as though I was wasting his time, and his response to the mistakes made was something like "Well neither of those [mistakes] are that bad." Avoid this place at all costs, unless you're seeing Dr. Emily Nangle (who is the only one there that actually seems to care about her patients - I wish I could review her separately, but she is the outlier of that practice and is the only exception to this terrible place.) Details: - I was advised the morning of the procedure of a serious potential complication. They asked just before my surgery about my medical history and realized then that I was at an increased risk for a permanent and painful neurological complication. I considered leaving, as this felt like something I should have been advised of in advance and allowed to properly consider. But I was stranded without a car, had been saving for and considering this surgery for years, and the doctor assured me it would be fine. I hand-wrote that new detail in the terms, and I signed it. - I was given a small dose of oral Diazepam (Valium) 15 minutes before surgery. I take Valium on occasion for sciatica, so I know that it takes 45-60 minutes to set in. In other words, this medication is provided as theater and is more about relaxing you after the surgery than during it. - The surgery itself was like an assembly line of terror. You're hardly acknowledged as a person, as the doctor and assistants speak to each other like you're not fully conscious and petrified. You're advised to take Advil as soon as you get home, but I implore you to take some with you and take it as soon as surgery is over. I got caught in traffic, so the pain was already setting in when I got home. Again, if they cared at all about your pain, they would dispense this to all patients, but that is not the case. - At my follow-up the next day, I was in more pain than ever before (I'm no wimp, I played D1 field hockey in college and recently broke 3 bones in my back during an equestrian event - that pain didn't come close to this). Consistently throughout these visits, my pain was not acknowledged by the nurses and repeated back to me as "discomfort." The nurses kept saying things like "well, the surgery can be more painful for some people than others." Gas lighting at its finest. - I was told to expect a few days of discomfort, but I was in severe pain for 1 week, and couldn't see clearly for 2 weeks. For those first 2 weeks, I could hardly use the computer or my phone, which made it impossible to perform my job. Now, over 6 months later, I have significant sensitivity to bright light and dust, both of which I didn't have before my surgery here. read more

Excellent experience. Staff is friendly. I had an eye exam with Dr. Mignault. He was pleasant to be around and was knowledgeable and professional. Answered all my questions. I needed new glasses. My old frames were in really good condition. But instead of up selling me new frames an lenses, they were able to just replace the lenses in my existing frames at a reasonable price. I Just got my second pair of glasses from here. I had such a great experience The first time I didn't even think twice about going somewhere else. The team at Boston Vision is absolutely amazing. They are so personable. I not only felt welcomed and valued as a patient but I felt like family. I hadn't been in 3 years and Dr M remembered me as well as the conversation we had last time. He genuinely showed interest in me and my dog (who had chewed my last pair). He also explained to me my vision plan and what it covered without even asking! And both of the ladies that were working there helped me pick out frames that fit my face. They were so patient with me. I can not thank the team at Boston Vision enough. I was so incredibly happy with my experience at Boston Vision Company. The MD was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything to a level and detail that I understood. Honestly, I had been in denial of needing glasses but the way he explained concepts like the way the light enters my eye and contrast; I was more open to all of it. I have had glasses in the past and they made me feel nauseous and he explained why. My new formula is really working out for me and I bought the frames in the store and they are fabulous. I cant rave enough about this place and their friendliness. They spent time helping me pick a frame. These are people that enjoy, are good and love what they do. read more

I've been going here for about 5 years now, and David M is awesome. All new equipment and a decent sample of frames to pick.. some pricey some not but something for everyone.. The reason i recommend this place, is they always take care of you. I've broken my glasses a few times already and they have fixed it, immediately or have taken care of me. I was able to get an appointment within a week. I was desperate for a good doctor. Once there I was happy to see the place was very clean and welcoming. Dr M was so helpful in explaining everything in laymen terms so I understood why I was having problems. To go 15+ years and not have a doctor help me in the way he did in 1 appointment made me appreciate his services so much more. He understood when I said I didn't want a certain type of glasses and he carefully explained all other options. Once it was time to pick out glasses he patiently helped me try on pair after pair. The receptionist was also very helpful and knowledgeable about my benefits while picking out frames and options. The doctor here was very very kind and funny. The couple ahead of me was taking a while to pick out glasses and then there was a sudden influx of people to buy glasses so he was running a few minutes late for my appointment but he apologized profusely and even gave me a discount on the glasses. I had a great first-visit experience at Boston Vision. Dr. Mignault was *very* helpful in explaining why my current progressive bifocals were meeting most, but not all my needs. He sent me home with suggestions for filling the gap inexpensively, and educated me about how my eyes are becoming drier as I age.
