The aviation community is already seeing declining numbers, unfortunately, shops like Gold Coast Aviation try to squeeze more money out of fewer people which will lead to even fewer people getting into general aviation. I'd fly my airplane out of state for an annual to avoid this rip-off shop.

Its nicely maintained and there are two runways to accommodate the ever changing winds and weather. The control tower folks were friendly and helpful and the FBO is clean and has a great scenic view of the airfield. Back to the ever changing winds and weather and, my reason for the 3 stars. The weather during the afternoons may be sunny and warm but if you stay the night, your chances of a VFR departure are slim to none because of either the winds or fog. Also, services in and around Salinas, outside of the airport gates are not the best and the areas not the safest.

Outside of what the show has to offer the location and facility for the airshow is great. Pro: Tons of restrooms and clean. Likes re not that long Tons of places for food and drinks Sell umbrella, sun protection and ear protections Upgrade tickets once in Tons of staff (mostly volunteers) for help Safe (bag check, rules, etc) Cons: Get there is specific and not just "airport way" as us locals are normally use too. I get it tons of people and need to park on other end. Getting in isn't so bad and getting out can be tricky. Somewhat normal for an event but not to many roads on way out.
