I already had the carpet up when they got here. we a have a concrete foundation. so, it was still full of water. The people they sent at first, didn't know anything when asked questions. I had to wait for a few days until Tony, the head guy showed up and he di answer those questions. the equipment they used was super loud, couldnt carry conversation on with my wife for a few days. they took some of the base board off. when the people we hired, went to put the base board back on, we are still missing 2 pieces that we could find. they ripped out a vanity in guest bathroom. insurance didn't want to pay for it so, we faught that . insurance finally paid for vanity but won't pay for the plumbing to put it all back together so, that comes out of wife and I pocket. they broke a small figur my wife had on wall.( they are replacing.) still waiting on our bedding they took to get it cleaned. I spent a good 20 minutes on the phone, making sure to clearly describe everything to avoid any mix-ups. However, when the technician arrived, he dropped a surprise: the chairs weren't included in the quoted price and would cost more. I was perplexed because the work order did list the chairs, but they weren't charged. After raising my concern with Stanley Steemer, I learned that the price for a fully upholstered chair is $15 each, so I assumed the seat cushions would be around $7.50 each. That adds up to $60 for all eight chairs--while it's not a huge amount, it's the principle of the matter. When I contract for a job, I expect the work and pricing to align, just as they expect me to pay. In an attempt to make amends, they offered a $20 discount on my bill, which felt rather silly I didn't need their money. I needed their service and I wasn't about to pay more for the chairs. Just leave them. I'll do them. I suggested they keep the discount, but they insisted on applying it. He used a vent camera to find and show me that it was a break in the dryer vent at the 90 degree bend with what appeared to be insulation. I was crushed. It had to be reconnected in the soffit. Scott said he could do it! He had the tools and other parts. Well it was more involved that he thought but he kept at it and fixed it completely! Tested air flow and all is good. This is one talented individual who will do a great job.
