This company was supposed to tell me that there was another AAA towing service that carried a battery delivery service and installation they had. Instead, they said to follow him to their shop to buy and install a battery from them. The battery I bought was more expensive than other stores. The tow driver said that their battery was the best one for my car. Now, AAA said that I can't get a refund on the battery. This is a warning to always check the AAA site for assistance with battery service options. I filed an AAA complaint against Advantage Towing, and they disciplined the business to never do this again. read more

Might as well be Take Advantage Towing. They have set up incredibly conflicting and confusing signs right outside of their shop to take advantage of Consignment Classics customer base. It seems highly purposeful, and they will extort you to get your car out of their gates--$500 when they pulled it less than 50 ft into their gates and had it for less than 45 minutes. Worst towing company ever. Look, mistakes happen. However, when you make a mistake, you should own up to it. Advantage towing did the opposite. They denied responsibility for a lost key and when they ended up finding the key, they lied to me about how they found it. Here are the details: AAA dispatched Advantage towing to tow my Porsche Boxster that had developed a coolant leak. The driver loaded the car on the truck and told me to meet him at the repair shop. At this point he had the car and key obviously. When the driver arrived at the repair shop and started to unload the car, he asked if I had the key. Ummmm...obviously not! After 10 minutes of us both looking for the key the driver unloaded the car in the middle of the street and left! The driver denied responsibility for losing the key and said it was my fault. Unbelievable. 10 minutes later the driver came back and said he had found my key. LOL. What concerns me is that the company was ready to deny responsibility for the key that they lost! The repair shop witnessed the entire incident with disbelief. I'll be letting AAA know about this incident. AAA members deserve better service. And to Advantage towing, shame on you! Sebastian provided excellent service! He was very professional and arrived in superb timing. My tire had blown out on the freeway. Luckily I was near an exit and was able to pull into a nearby parking lot. I needed to replace the tire with my spare tire. I had talked to the AAA dispatcher and they said it could take up to 1 1/2hrs for someone to get to me. Luckily for me Sebastian arrived within 20min and provided speedy and efficient service. Horrible people! A car was towed, by the SDPD in our neighborhood because it was illegally parked on the street for over 3 weeks. The city towed the car away. A few days later Advantage towed the car (not running) back into the neighborhood just across the street from where it was originally towed (another parking violation). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told the tow truck driver he could not leave the car there because it was less than 500 feet from where it was towed. The tow truck driver was rude and abusive[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When the supposed car owner came out, the driver told him that he could park his car on the street as long as he wanted to (72 hour rule parking violation). He said he works for the police and I don't, so he knows better. Using my AAA for a dead battery, I was sent Advantage Towing. The tech check battery and review findings of negative charge and I was idling low. Which I told him I will relay to my husband. I did ask for a new battery since it is not keeping a charge. He said he will check to see if he had card reader and before trurning to me he was on the phone with I am guessing a supervisor. He came back to me to tell me that they do not change batteries for VW and Audi's. That is strange since the last AAA tech changed my VW battery. My vehicle was in an accident and I was tricked by the tow driver at Advantage towing. It was supposed to be towed to morena automotive foreign and domestic auto repair, but instead it was towed to San Diego Collision Center Miramar. AAA has the receipts as I just called them and an investigation is now being conducted. The accident occurred 7/8 and my car was inspected 7/17/25. The estimate was received by me and the collision center 8/14/25. I was told today 8/15 by the collision center that my car was processed as abandoned and under lein sale. I saw that this place is not business accredited and has multiple yelp reviews stating that it is a scam and car is not repaired or returned. I asked to have my car returned and the shop is now saying I'm responsible for storage fees of $175/day. There was no notification, no written invoice, no agreed upon storage fees. I would like to remove my car from this place and have it repaired at a certified reputable shop which I had requested in the first place, and not have to pay $5000+ in storage fees to do so. It all started with this tow truck company extorting me into this racketeering operation. I will be at small claims court on Monday and trust me I'm not only going after San Diego Collision Center, but also Advantage Towing to expose this whole operation. read more

Jesse, from the advantage towing services, called me 15 minutes after I called my insurance letting me know they're coming in 5 minutes. So only 20 mins passed and Temo, who is very nice and kind, asked for the verification which was less than 1 minute and he professionally and carefully opened my door and I was able to retrieve my keys! It ended up being Manuel from Advantage operating the vehicle, trying to roll the car in neutral to the tow truck in a very cramped and busy lot. Honestly, these guys did such a great job at helping me get it out that I really had such a positive experience here despite the fact that my car got towed, lol! I was helped immediately, everyone that I encountered greeted me & asked if I had been helped, from the tow techs to the front desk. I believe I was in and out in about 20 minutes or less. You get as much customer service as you would expect from a tow yard, which is not much but still much better than other tow yards I've been to.
