Let me start by saying, I had an extremely positive experience with Dr. Maldonado at this facility. She was patient, kind, understanding, professional and had great bedside manner. My 2 star review relates to my experience with the front desk staff - a man by the name of Dennis. Dennis was rude, unprofessional and during my visit, confronted Dr. Maldonado in an aggressive and threatening manner which created a hostile environment for me, the patient as well as the doctor. As fate would have it, the boss, Mr. Aponte, also witnessed part of this incident. I provided a written statement but haven't heard anything back from Advent Health. I hope they addressed this employees behavior because no one should be subjected to that especially in a patient care facility. read more

Negative Feedback Our experience at AdventHealth Centra Care - Conway was extremely disappointing and left us with serious concerns regarding the quality of the medical evaluation my child received. We returned from Cuba six days ago, a country where dengue is endemic, particularly during this time of the year. Two days after returning, my child developed fever, malaise, and severe retro-orbital pain (pain behind the eyes). On the day of our visit, he also experienced spontaneous epistaxis (nose bleeding), raising our concern for dengue or another travel-related viral illness. We carefully explained the recent travel history and all of his symptoms to APRN Maldonado. Despite this, dengue did not appear to be seriously considered in the differential diagnosis. We were told that my child did not have dengue because "the mosquitoes were not infected," an explanation that did not address either the epidemiological exposure or the clinical presentation. Additionally, the medical assistant asked whether my child had been vaccinated against dengue, which further diminished our confidence in the team's familiarity with this disease. The only diagnostic tests performed were COVID-19 and influenza tests, despite my child having no respiratory symptoms whatsoever to suggest either infection. As expected, both test results were negative. No effort was made to investigate illnesses that were actually consistent with his history and symptoms. No basic laboratory work, such as a complete blood count (CBC)--one of the initial tests commonly used in the evaluation of suspected dengue--was ordered or even discussed. My child was also prescribed amoxicillin, despite no documented evidence of a bacterial infection and no clinical findings supporting antibiotic therapy. Prescribing antibiotics without an appropriate clinical indication is inconsistent with evidence-based practice and the principles of antimicrobial stewardship. To be fair, APRN Maldonado did advise us to seek care in the emergency department if the fever persisted, the headache worsened, or the symptoms failed to improve. However, at the time of the visit, my child had already experienced persistent fever for two days without improvement, in addition to a recent return from a dengue-endemic region and symptoms compatible with dengue. Given this presentation, I believe a more thorough evaluation or immediate referral to an emergency department for appropriate laboratory testing would have been more appropriate. My primary concern is not that dengue was not diagnosed during the visit. My concern is that the travel history, epidemiological risk, and clinical presentation did not appear to be appropriately integrated into the medical decision-making process. Instead, the evaluation seemed to rely on routine testing and empiric antibiotic treatment that lacked clear clinical support. I hope this feedback encourages additional education in travel medicine, recognition of arboviral diseases such as dengue, evidence-based diagnostic evaluation, and responsible antibiotic prescribing, so that future patients presenting with similar histories receive a more comprehensive and clinically appropriate assessment. Made an appointment was here about 45 min in and out. Everyone was very nice from front desk nurses to the dr I saw

Waited over 1 hour with an appointment test results for flu/covid. Office was empty. They pretty much forget about you throughout the whole process and don't seem to care about the patient. Got the test results via email and still waited over 30's with no one checking on me. I walked up to the nurses station and interrupted one of the nurses swiping photos on his instagram. He said it was up to the provider and I overheard him say he didn't realize I was in room 2. Great service ! read more

My husband went in for a dog bite. He said he had a great experience. Erika, the medical assistant was professional and really nice. His bite needed 3 stitches. It was cleaned well, dressed properly and they made sure to get him a tetanus shot ( he he he ) and antibiotics. He said he felt he was well taken care of, location was clean, clinician was thorough. I had something that could have been serious or not and wanted a professional opinion. I do not have a regular GP so I went to this Centra Care. The ladies behind the front desk were professional, friendly and had personality. The nurse who took me back to the room was professional, friendly and appeared to really want to know why I was there. The doctor/PA that came in was attentive, listened, professional, explanatory and offered a variety of opinions for her diagnosis. She also printed out explanations of my condition as well as treatment options. Fortunately it was nothing serious I have peace of mind and options to fix the issue at hand. Made an "appointment" for my daughter in the morning for early afternoon. They tell you to arrive 15 minutes before appointment to do paperwork. Arrived early-filled out paperwork. Then was told to go out to my car and wait to be called into the waiting room. There 5 people waiting already plus several patients in the back. I asked how long the wait was and she said it would be "awhile" bc/they only have 1 DR. That would have been HOURS. I asked why they are making so many appts if they don't have DR's and she said it's only a reservation, not an appointment. Extreme waste of time. We left. Go to your primary care physician. I was also shocked to see a medical establishment with the option of "non-binary" under gender. Really? Medical people that don't believe the science of biology? Disappointing. read more

After getting my third upper respiratory infection, and no PCP's taking new patients, going to Centra Care was my only option. I booked an appointment for 1:30. Only downside was that I waited an hour to be taken back to a room. However, the staff let me know in advance and the wait wasn't awful. Once I was taken back I was seen quickly and given the attention that I would hope to receive anywhere else. Dr. Schwartzman was polite, thorough and took my concerns (pregnancy & antibiotics) into consideration. He explained the treatment process with me and I was treated quickly and on my way. I was there for a total of roughly two hours and that included the breathing threat ment, Dr. S checking into me before and after and discharge. Of course, this isn't a PCP, it's an urgent care so it will be busy due to unexpected walk ins. But the staff was courteous and helpful. I would go again. read more

I don't think I've ever been so rushed in a doctors office before. I tried explaining that there is pain in my chest, and without explaining further (because they cut me off) they sent me in for a fast track. The Doctor that had finally came by to check me out was really rude, asking why I was on fast track as if I know what the hell that is. He explained that I didn't need to be on one ( didn't ask to be) as well as saying there was nothing wrong but yet I still needed antibiotics. I recently fell and gashed my head and had to go to three different places before someone would close the wound. This was the third and by far the best place. The staff was great and immediately attended to my wound which required nine staples. By the time I left I felt like we were old friends. They made me comfortable and listened to what I was saying. My experience was not good. I had a 11:00 appointment for a knee injury. I checked in at 10:30 and waited 3 hours to be seen by a Doctor. Just two people in the waiting room. Five stars to the nurse/technician who completed the X-ray. She was kind and very professional. My problem is being advised to use crutches and then being told that there were no crutches available. Unacceptable. Waiting three hours also unacceptable. Shouldn't there be someone handling supply and inventory so this doesn't happen to someone else? read more

I came as a walk in patient and was told to wait in my car. So. I went on line and made an appointment. I told the lady I made an appointment and she told me that I still had to wait as a walk in until the appointment time then I would have to wait again. They don't care about the people only the money they can get from billing insurance companies and taking money from the patients who come in. Even my personal doctor says they suck!!! Went in because I thought I had strep throat but they said I don't and they didn't have the tests for it but gave me a prescription for a anti inflammatory and it cost 318 dollars. I got robbed. Saw the doctor less than four minutes. I need answers and that prescription won't fix strep throat so now I need to go spend another 500 at a different adventheath because it was discounted and the reason is that they didn't test me. I called to make an appointment and was advised they were not busy. I arrived five minted later and did the intake paperwork. Then other arrived. Waited 45 minutes and noticed those that arrived after me were going in ahead of me. Only me and another person in the lobby now. I asked and they advised reservations go in first. They advised a new system is causing this. Then they wanted to know if I wanted to make a reservation after waiting 45 minutes. What??? I type all day and my wrist is not happy about this. So after weeks of hoping it would get better on its own I really needed to have my sore wrist checked out. Alas, I couldn't get an appointment with my doctor, so as a last resort I went to Centra Care. I made an appointment online and selected the Conway location because it is conveniently located near my work (and I have had pretty long waits at the Waterford one in the past.) I completed my paperwork online and arrived just a few minutes before my appointment. There was only one other person in the waiting room and I was called back to the exam room exactly at my appointment time. WOW. Super fast service. The doctor was really very good. He checked me out, told me what he thought the problem was and had me get an x-ray just to check. No breaks, just a wonky wrist. They fitted me with a hideous wrist brace and gave me the medication I needed. No extra trip to the pharmacy even! I received a follow up call two days later from the nurse who had helped me in the office. So, I'm sold. This is a great place, they really took care of me. And none of the hassle of other urgent care offices. read more

My family is visiting Orlando for the weekend and my 9 month old daughter started feeling ill. We took her into Centra Care for fever, cough and rash. From start to finish the service was wonderful! Dr. Bhatt saw her and he was very kind, listened and explained everything. The receptionist Amy, Nurse Shana and Dr. Bhatt were the people that were involved in our care. Thank you all! This is the poorest dr office I've been to ...my wife and myself went to this office because its next to our house and on the way to work ..she has been sick for a weekish . Cough, chest hurting and a sore throat ... I've been feeling the same but not as bad .... we both asked to see the dr together... the dr came in asked a couple basic questions listen to her chest and touched her sinus and said switch seats... ok I started telling him the same think and this guys said I need to put you in the hospital for chest pain .... and after I tell him it's not that type of pain ... He tells me as an ER doctor that I need to go ,That I need a chest X-ray because he doesn't know what it is. Me and my wife have the exact symptoms ... because I told him I disagree with him ... He told me that the medical community said I need to be treated with flow-nes... and my wife need antibiotics and mucusnex because its a bacteria .... what a joke ... this guy was in the office for 5 minutes at best ... in a hurry and there was only one other patient in the lobby ...very poor practice ... read more
