What a disappointment. I bought it as a birthday present. The first trip we had scheduled was cancelled the day before. I had called ahead to make sure the weekend date was available. They have a NO REFUNDS No EXCEPTION policy so I was told it would have to be rescheduled. They didnt have any weekend dates available for another 6 weeks. So we rescheduled. I received a confirmation call and the night before a confirmation text message to meet at the field at 5:30 am. 4am the day of the flight I received a text saying it was once again cancelled. When I called to reschedule I was told it would be ANOTHER 6 weeks before we could go. Celebrating someone's birthday 3 months late seems pretty pointless now. My in-laws purchased this last year and ran in to the same problem, cancelled on and no refunds available. Wish I would have consulted them first. Got this deal on groupon for $125 and it was supposed to be for $249 worth its services. First off, I don't recommend the Perris location. The Temecula view would probably have been much better. cons: All we saw was dusty dry land with some goats off a distance and a view of some abandoned tires (yes tires). -the land smelled like manure while we waited and was stronger at some point in the air. -all very unromantic so not recommended for young couples. -According to their company website, we were supposed to have 60-75 minutes of flight time but instead we had about 45 minutes. It felt like we went up, then came right back down. -i felt bad for the second batch of people because there was only one balloon and they had to wait for us to land for them to depart. (Maybe They had the 60-75 minutes we didn't get?!) Pros: we saw the sunrise since we were the first group up. -The pilot was a really good guy. We had to wait outside standing next to a bunker for way too long in the freezing morning cold, they neglected to tell you that you'll be in a crammed space with about 10 ppl. I went on a hot air balloon ride because it was on my bucket list (and I was literally in a bucket attached to a balloon). Setting up the flight was really easy, and the pilot and staff were really nice. The ride was an hour long, the maximum altitude was over 2000 ft, and the view of the area was excellent. I had a great time! The only downside is that the flights are held early in the morning, and you have to be at the airport at 5:15 AM, but it's worth it. read more

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the lack of customer service that I just received when I called to confirm my reservation. I purchased a Groupon and called in to confirm my reservation that I made online. They told me that the website "Doesn't work like that"... Okay, why do you have a reservation page then?! Then they told me that they refused to honor the Groupon because of the date that I choose to use it (Valentine's Day) and that I would have to pay the difference of cost. Being that I had already made these plans, I was willing to pay the difference, but expressed that it was unfortunate because it said nothing on the Groupon page about this stipulation. Whoever it was that I spoke to, apparently doesn't like being proven wrong and I was immediately met with hostility and aggravation because I was simple asking questions... It's also amazing that I was willing to make the extra payment, and was still met with hostility... Maybe they should think about some Customer Service training or at least drink a coffee before they decide to speak with clients! read more

I did not get the support I needed from either end, Groupon or the merchant, Adventure Flights. I was told on the phone with the merchant to mark the Groupon as redeemed, and only AFTER this was I informed I would have to pay another amount of $120 because of Covid. I was NOT happy about this, but since I already redeemed my Groupon at their instruction, I didn't have much of a choice. After I arrived for our time, the weather was bad and we waited over an hour but could not go up. I was told we could reschedule, but the chances were low because of "June Gloom". I was not aware of this phenomenon as we are from Texas and were heading back the next day after our scheduled ride. Also, they were only doing rides on certain days-so even if we were not leaving the next day, they wouldn't have been able to accommodate us as out of towners anyway. Doesn't this seem like a catch 22? Now I am out well over $300 and nobody seems to care. On top of that, the customer service rep at the balloon company informed me that, if-and only if, the owner approved my refund request, they would only refund me $77 because they can't do anything about the Groupon portion and there is a $25 admin fee for each person out of the $120 Are you kidding me? 50 bucks to refund someone a small portion of what they paid? The person that booked our ride was nice and responsive at first, but of course after they got my credit card info and waiver via email - do you think that they responded when I asked them to the same email about the refund request? Nope-ghosted. I did eventually get a response when I found another email Groupon provided me - to no avail, clearly. Not to mention their weight policy, as others have, is ridiculous. If your collective party weight is under the weight limit there should not be extra charges. Actually, if you didn't know, this parent company owns 8 balloon ride companies (Seems sketchy? Yep.) - and my guess is that it serves the purpose of avoiding bad reviews all under one name. This is a scammy and joke of a company. Their only selling point is that their balloon captain was nice - unfortunately their policies are terrible. As a first time balloon rider (and birthday gift for my husband, so I had to buy another one after being unable to ride), how am I supposed to know that June you generally get screwed every time? There was a couple that was on their SIXTH attempt at a ride! Maybe someone should have warned me about this when I explained to them initially in the first conversation that my chances are low? But no, of course they wanted my money, knowing that there was a low likelihood of us riding when we were in SoCal for only 3 days total, and knowing they would death grip hold onto it. I have been a loyal Groupon customer for nearly a decade now. I do not appreciate either company's handling of my situation and my 300+ dollars. I will certainly question myself before purchasing on Groupon going forward, and would highly suggest forgoing this company and enjoying a balloon ride somewhere else unless you live close by, have time to waste, and money to blow. What a fun adventure this could have been. Hopefully I can find a way back to California as Covid cases continue to rise in the remaining 160 days I have to use my tickets. read more

I had a similar experience to Dina Z.'s. The overall experience was mediocre. I received a Groupon voucher to this place as a graduation gift. Nothing on the voucher made it clear I'd be crammed into the small place with 8-10 other people. Note that I used the voucher in November 2016. I drove an hour to get to this place at 5:30am as I was instructed to watch the sunrise as the voucher stated. It was 30 degrees when I got there. I was on the second "jump". I wasn't in the air until after 7:30am. Numerous people were trickling in after 6:00am, many of whom got on their balloon before I did. The balloon ride was about 45 minutes long. The operator of the balloon was loud and obnoxious, but overall the employees were nice. Even though I did not have to pay for this service, I would not recommend this place. I am also deeply saddened that my mom used her hard earned money to pay for such a lousy experience. Yes, I can check hot air balloon ride off my bucket list, but my experience wasn't what I expected. read more

Just like the other reviews I am annoyed that I got here on time, in fact 15 mins early at 4:45 Am. It is now 6am and I am sitting in my car and watching the sunrise. So first off no sunrise ride for me. Why? We got placed into the second group. First off that's just not fair right there. Second don't waste my time. I didn't pay hundreds of dollars to get here on time and then wait. Why not split the group up ahead of time ? You give them your weight ahead of time? I also felt that it isn't real clear before you purchase tickets how long the flight will be, how many people will be on the balloon. I assume we would be in the air more like an hour at least or more. Apparently the flight is only 45 mins at most. Second, the coffee was instant coffee and it was crap. Is it really that tough to brew fresh coffee? Also, I have had better donuts. They were definitely cheap donuts. As others have noted the way they do the weigh in isn't very private. If you weigh over 225 they collect the money right there. As we were in the second group we waited in the car. I was looking for the van to return from the wrong direction. Thankfully they went and found us in the car rather than leave us behind which raised this review from 1 star to 2. Dee, our pilot, was very fun to talk to and the balloon ride was just OK. I wanted to stay up longer and actually travel some distance. I don't think we will do it again with this company but it was memorable. The van ride was fairly bumpy as we went through some open fields. It felt like I spent most of my time either waiting or in the van rather than in the air. read more

If there are a lot of people going up, 50% chance you'll be in the second group and have to wait around for 1.5 hours while others are enjoying their time. Wake up early and get there at 5am only to have to sit at a picnic table watching the sunrise from a bench. The ride is fine, just like any other hot air balloon ride would be enjoyable. The customer service and the way in which they do things is what's the huge downer. Worst experience ever! First off, they crammed us in like we're a bunch of sardines. We could barely turn around let alone move enough to pull out our cameras to take a photo. Secondly, our pilot decided to maybe lift us 10 ft off the ground. He stated that it was due to "safety" and more of a "challenge" for him. Instead of challenging yourself how about you actually take your passengers on a balloon ride where we can actually get a view, since that's what we all paid for. You can get a better view and be higher up taking a walk up Mt. Rubidoux. There was another pilot that took his passengers higher and on a longer ride. So the whole safety reason made his point pointless. So is he insinuating that the other pilot isnt being safe? While we were already heading back in the van we could all see the other hot air balloon still in the air. Our ride was LESS THAN 30 minutes. Unbelievable. Dont bother wasting your time or money with this company. If I could give this company and -5 star review, I would. Horrible, simply horrible. read more

We paid for a sunrise flight and were told to be there at 6 am only to wait an hour and a half to even be transported to a balloon that was not there . Decent experience. The balloon ride was fun and they made our experience feel very special. The reason for the 3 stars was the organization when we arrived. We got there at 5:30am and it took until about 6am to get anything started. At that point, they tried to move the first group of us to the flight site. The van was dead. They had a backup van, but had no idea where the key was to it. We were expecting to experience the sunrise from the balloon, but with all of the delays, we watched the sunrise from the meeting spot. After unsuccessfully retrieving the keys for the second van, the first van had to be jumped in order to get our adventure started. I felt the worst for the folks in the second group. They were asked to arrive at 5:30am and they didn't actually get in the balloon until 3 hours later. A suggestion for the future would be to stagger the arrival times for the groups. read more

I decided to book a ride here for my birthday July 26. Me and my friend went so early and far just to realize we got ripped off! The weather was great and they only flew us up and stayed in the same spot for about 30 minutes then came back down! This was my first time in a hot air balloon ride and everyone else there as well. There was no ride around wineries or anything, literally just went up and came down! We are extremely dissapointed. Temecula is the best place to go to for a hot air balloon ride that will ride 40miles into wineries and will last an 1 hour and 30 minutes. The $130 i payed here in Perris was a rip off and only because they matched the groupon price. I had the worst experience with this company. I booked a ballon flight through them directly mainly because of the cancellation policy. It says on the site that you can cancel with a 25 dollar fee per flyer. I recently moved to Texas and I was going to come down to California for spring break. My plans fell through and I decided to get a refund. Well I called the company and the receptionist was so rude! She questioned me on why my billing address had a California address! I felt very uncomfortable with the way she spoke to me, she stated that she would have her manager give me a call. Well a week goes by and I give them a call to see what was going on with everything! The same rude girl tells me that living social is giving me a refund! The funny thing is that I don't have a living social account! After a little more time she tells me that I was given a refund 3 days prior! Wouldn't they want to contact the customer to relay the message.!?? Please improve on your customer service! I have not received the refund yet but hoping it isn't an issue with that as well! read more

I bought the ride for my boyfriend as an anniversary gift and he loved it! We book out flight very easily and received some instructions by email. Because we live far away we had to stay at a hotel room which was also no trouble to book and only 5 minutes away from the balloon place. Arriving there we checked in and wait for almost an hour (that I didn't even notice passing due to anxiety). They have breakfast (donut, coffee, hot cocoa and water) before and after (a 7,99 voucher for a local restaurant). The pilot was really funny and made the flight even better. We've got to experience the balloon folding after the flight which was pretty interesting. If you are afraid, DON'T BE! I was freaking out but it was super fun and once the balloon starts going up the fear went away. The basket is pretty steady and the company has a 40 years experience with 0 accidents. After the ride we got a certificate and mimosas! Definitely want to come back with friends and family! read more

I'd recommend heading up north for a balloon ride. I think that the ratings are based on the fact that people haven't experienced anything else. The people were really nice but could run the business a lot better. At Adventure Balloon Rides you get crammed into the balloon with 12 people. and it was designed for 8. Extremely uncomfortable and unromantic. I WASN'T EVEN IN THE SAME COMPARTMENT AS MY FIANCEE! We were next to each other though. I didn't tip at the end which I would have if they didnt try to make a few extra bucks at the customers expense. Up north you get a huge section of your own. The brunch was a coupon to a skydive bar/cafeteria and the drinks were in a plastic cup in a half circle with certificates printed on a 40 dollar laser jet printer; It's just cheap.The other location was a sit down restaurant, all you can drink mimosas, professional pictures (that they sold for 20 bucks). The view was a huge difference! We didn't move at all and only went up for about 20 minutes. They also had another group waiting in the van while we were in the balloon to double their profits. Could have just told them to get there later. The other place I went to we flew for over an hour and landed several miles away. Sorry I can't remember the name of the company that we used but we went to Santa Cruz right after so its in that area. Good Luck! read more

Me friend and I booked a balloon ride for our trip to California in June. (We live in Michigan) We spoke on the phone to the company, who did not mention that there were no refunds given whatsoever. She did say that in the event of a weather cancellation, we could reschedule and that they would "make it work" for us one if the other days we were in California. We told her we were only going to be there for 5 days and she said not to worry, We paid and then were sent some emails regarding their cancellation and weather policy. I still felt comfortable choosing this company since we had spoke on the phone and were assured we would get a balloon ride. The day before our flight, we received an email stating our ride had been cancelled due to weather. Looking at the weather app we were confused..no storms...sunny skies..it was very odd. We called immediately and the phone just rang and rang and then went to a voicemail which was full. Over the next few days we repeatedly called this company trying to reschedule our flight, like they said we could, before we left the state, and the phone would just constantly ring until we got to the full voicemail. I even emailed the company regarding this issue..and here I sit 3 months later, STILL waiting for a reply. After inquiring about a refund, we are simply told NO REfUNDS ARE GIVEN. Wow. What a way to scam people out of their money!!! Telling people they can reschedule and then not answering their phones or email. If you want to have a pleasant experience with a company, stay far away from this one!!!! read more

My husband surprised me to celebrate our 11th year anniversary. It was quite an experience , it was magical and nice to see a different perspective of the land. Donuts and hot water for tea and coffee was served while you wait. At the end of the ride they gave us champagne, a certificate to show we have flown with them and a voucher for the Bomb Shelter restaurant for breakfast. Used Groupon and scheduled date with no problem. Beware small print on Groupon that it's $20 more per person to schedule for weekend or holiday. Arrived at 6 am like we were supposed to and found out we were in the second group. We waited another hour before the host came back to get us. There were only port o potty to use so that was not great. They did have hand sanitizer outside on the bench. That's terrible and no need to have everyone check in knowing you have people waiting that long. They weigh you and have donuts, instant coffee, and tea available. The flight was ok it was just that the scenery was underwhelming. Dry land, roads, houses, and water in the distance. We were offered bottled water after the flight. Once back a story was told about ballooning and then a champagne, cider, or orange juice toast. We were given a certificate with our names on it and a voucher for $7.95 for breakfast at the Bombshell minutes away. Breakfast was decent. They would tick people off less if they had two different report times for the two different groups. read more

I'd be really careful about booking with this company if you're from out of town because of their cancellation policy. They will keep your money if you didn't fly at no fault of your own. They'll also say they'll refund your money (maybe) but it'll cost your about 25% of what you paid. Please don't get scammed. They must really need the money and under funded if they do this which means they probably cut corners which isn't safe. read more
