A staff member/manager (Jen) spoke to her in a hostile and demeaning way in the locker room, then escalated the situation by following her out and continuing the confrontation in front of others. Rather than handling things professionally, the behavior became increasingly aggressive, including getting in close proximity and making unnecessary remarks. As a parent, it's unacceptable to have an adult staff member interact with a minor this way. What's equally disappointing is the lack of response after reporting this to both the location and corporate. At this point, I'm simply looking for accountability and assurance that this won't happen to someone else.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Crossfit - it's a mix of power lifting, olympic lifting, gymnastics, and sports conditioning. You workout in small classes (2-10 people) and the workouts are constantly varied. Typically, the other gyms will charge me a drop in fee, but the guys at Crossfit Centermass let me drop in for free because I belong to a Crossfit in Austin, TX. Much appreciated! I went during the open gym time at noon, so I'm assuming my experience is a little different then other times. During the open gym time they will do a WOD (workout of the day), but you do not need to participate if you do not want to. I opted to join in on the WOD - considering I hadn't worked out in a few weeks, it was brutal, but they always are. The gym seemed to be very well equipped. I really liked their setup for pullups. If I was going to make one constructive critique, it would be that their jump ropes sucked. But otherwise this seemed to be a fantastic box (gym) with a lot of friendly people working out. I'm not sure what the situation is with parking, but I found parking directly in front of the gym on Shrewsbury Street. Definitely give 'em a shot if you are looking for a Crossfit gym (or even if you're not)!

The actual space is pristine and private. I just started training with Moonin. He's motivating, detail oriented, and very understanding. The initial evaluation process is extremely thorough so the workouts can be tailored to your goals. Moonin really seems invested in your success and overall health. He's super knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Just a few weeks in and I've lost weight & noticed an increase in my strength and endurance!
