Horrible place I got a referral for my son with sedation they refused and then pulled the wrong tooth having 4+ that had to hold my son down to pull my sons tooth and it was the wrong tooth didn't push the abscess out and literally did nothing they where suppose to do. I will not go back to this place worst experience of my son and my life traumatizing for me to watch and my son to go through I would avoid this place at all costs! We ended up going to his regular dentist to pull the actual tooth and push the abscess out where I had to hold him down which was also traumatic but I didn't want to go back to this dental office for a repeat of their neglect and rudeness. read more

We used to love this place! It helped with our son's anxiety at the dentist. They were so compassionate and understanding, but over the last two years they've dramatically changed they put dollar signs over quality of care for children. The staff on the phone are extremely rude and un empathetic. They change policies and say they sent you a text message, our child's been going there since they were five and now they are not allowed to go because I switched jobs and I only have Apple health for my child. So they're stipulating that they would much rather in this economy only see people that have a higher premium so they can have a bigger bottom line, then worrying about the quality of care of children. It's absolutely disgusting because they hide behind faith and say they always do the right thing and everybody's welcome, but they discriminate against indigenous people that are on state insurance. I'm so glad the call was on the car when I was taking my child to school so he can understand the discrimination that he just received just because of his parents Job doesn't offer insurance. At a place he's gone to since he was five! They say a policy changed, but my other child went until they were 18 with the same insurance. I asked them why it changed and they said they only see state patients over the age of six if you have other insurance, which means to anybody that knows what Apple health and knows anything about billing for medical or dental they want more money so they don't want to see the children. They only want to help children where they can make a bigger profit!!! Please Moms stay far away from this place! They don't care about you or your children! They Only care about $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. I have also made a consumer complaint with the state and attorney general! read more

We were driving here for a cleaning this morning and my son exclaimed "Mom, if this is just a joke and we're not really going to the dentist right now I will be SO MAD." Who really says it on the way to the dentist? Kids who come here, that who. Both dentists are amazing and fantastic with kids of all times. Their dental hygienist and assistants are incredibly friendly, and I am always consistently impressed with how well they interact with my, and other, children. The office is fun, super colorful, with TVs on the ceilings for kids to watch while in the chair- brilliant!!! They've adapted well to COVID with dividers and separate mini rooms in both the waiting room and within the dental office itself In a way that makes it feel safe but still very fun and welcoming. Adventure Dental - Pediatric Dentists Near Me - Vancouver, Washington

We've been coming to Adventure Dental for almost a year now. We had an appointment this week for all three of my kiddos @ 0800, but they require for you to arrive 15 minutes early. Now, I accept that I was late because I had the route to swimming lessons hardwired into my brain and automatically drove in that direction instead of to the dental office. Keep in mind, we did leave early from our home and wld have made it on time if we hadn't taken the accidental detour. We arrive at the office at 0802. We are told that all three appointments had to be rescheduled. I feel like this is being unreasonable. Our insurance info has not changed, neither has the health of my children. Expecting families to come in early to select boxes that indicate nothing has changed, and that you'll take responsibility is not necessary for every family. It seems to me that a simple "has anything changed" by the staff would be sufficient with a signature. Now, I know I was late. I'm not arguing that. My issue is that I'm deemed "too late" because I didn't show up 10 minutes early to fill out forms for my 0800 appointment. Their staff was still arriving to work at 0805 and 0808, but we're too late. This type of hypocrisy and unnecessary barriers to health/dental care is nuts. Dental care is expensive and not a luxury that all can afford. According to the CDC, the percentage of 1-17 who had an annual exam dropped from 83.8% to 80.9% from 2019 to 2020. I'm sure this percent is lower post pandemic and given the economy. I was grateful and "lucky" enough that with some persistence they still saw my eldest for his braces. His total orthodontist appointment took 15 to 17 minutes. I don't believe that we were "too late" to be seen. I do think that unlike doctor appointments, it's easy to turn patients away because dental care is rarely an emergency...it's a luxury. Im a nurse in a very busy metropolitan hospital, we see everyone and can't turn people away. My take away is that I will be taking my insurance and out of pocket luxury money to another dental office, once my son finishes his treatment for his braces. In a busy world where medical/dental appointments are hard to make (months booked out), the patient is expected to be early and wait long...I'm not willing to give my business to an office that is not flexible/reasonable with families with multiple children. We all deserve grace. Be a helper, not a barrier for our kids. read more

We recently moved to WA, needed a new dentist for the kids. I was recommended Adventure. They helped us when one of my daughters teeth was coming out but needed some help. Seemed great and kind. When we went back for check up, they said she had 4 cavities and displayed a picture of her teeth not X-rays. At first I was like, ok, but as I considered that she was fine 6 months ago, and some other comments from the dentist that I wasn't super thrilled with, I began to question. I saw another review say get a second opinion after having the same experience they did. I did and the other dentist said they saw nothing to be concerned about, no fillings needed, keep up the good work taking care of your teeth. If you are at all questioning, get a second opinion! Just confirms my experience that dentists can't always be trusted not to recommend work to make profits, and really sad that they would do this to children. read more

I've been taking my boys here since they were little after a not so great experience with a general dentist. I have been completely satisfied with their work - making my kids feel comfortable and cared for as well as doing a fantastic job with their teeth. Both have had all sorts of work done from fillings to pulled teeth to root canal and braces. Yesterday we went in to have my oldest son's front tooth fixed after he chipped a large chunk of it the night before. I was able to text in the evening and had an appointment set up the next morning. All the staff were great - my seventeen year old son was smiling and laughing and we were assured that everything would be fine. Afterward, his tooth looked perfect - no need to reschedule his senior pictures. It will be a sad day when my kids age out of pediatric dentistry - I love Adventure Dental. read more

I am a single parent of a 6-year-old daughter who has special needs, including sensory processing disorder (SPD), a chromosome deletion, and ADHD. Due to my busy schedule working full time and continuing my education, my mother used to take my daughter to dental appointments. My daughter has always struggled with teeth brushing, and despite our efforts, successful cleanings or scans at the dentist were not possible. I have concerns about the dental care my daughter has received, feeling that medical fields, especially for children with disabilities, cannot be fully trusted. Around my daughter's 5-year dental appointment, I learned that she would be referred to OHSU School of Dentistry for additional support. After several months, she was seen, but I was disappointed to find out that this was not the appointment where her surgery would be scheduled, as I had hoped. Learning that surgeries are scheduled 6+ months out and someone would call us. By that time my daughter would be 7 and I didn't want to picture what would happen to the cavities. So, after this appointment my panic was setting in... My daughter has been to the emergency room twice in the last four weeks due to a tooth infection. She is currently on her third round of antibiotics while waiting for a surgery that should have been done much sooner. Despite my efforts, I have been unable to obtain my daughter's entire file from the dental office. I have expressed frustration over the lack of communication from Adventure Dental, where I have had to call numerous times to explain the severity of my daughter's situation. My primary goal was to find a positive and calming dentistry for my daughter's specific needs and to ensure that she receives the necessary dental care promptly and effectively. Unfortunately, the lack of communication has resulted in my happy girl suffering in pain every day and dealing with all the other issues that come with a tooth infection that was never properly treated. I guess she always had a positive experience at Adventure Dental but to know that it was all a lie is something I will keep with me. Maybe if I was able to give her better insurance instead of state... maybe none of this would have ever happened. In reality, it all comes down to money. Who is going to pay for the unsuccessful cleanings, scans, fixing cavities, sedation, etc. I like to think that I am not the only person facing this type of challenge. There is so much more to this story that I could go into but for now I hope by sharing our story, it can help other parents out there. read more

I am beyond pleased with the care my 2 year old daughter has received so far at Adventure Dental. Not only is the office itself fun and kid friendly, the doctors and staff are extremely knowledgable. My daughter had to have a tooth pulled and I was a nervous wreck. Dr. Neil did the consultation and took the time to show me the X-rays and what exactly was going on, while Dr. Hillyard performed the procedure. I was so worried about the safety and effects of the sedative she was given, but before pulling her tooth he took the time to speak with my husband and me and address any concerns, which helped put me at ease. The technician was so kind as well. The whole thing was done within minutes, and everything was smooth with my daughters recovery. I particularly like that they always have a dentist on call should you need help or advice after hours. That kind of accessibility is hard to come by, yet so necessary in this field. This is a fun place for kids, with all the toys and games. My concern is that they are very aggressive in their care. They diagnose cavities with just a photo, no X-rays to prove it. I've gotten second options from a trusted dentist and he said there were no cavities where they said they were. I would recommend getting a second option on any of their treatment recommendations. The cleaning technician didn't do a good job on my daughter's teeth. She just spent around 10 minutes and my daughter complained that she was very rough. They also underestimated how much my insurance would cover and over charged me and wouldn't pay back me right away even though the insurance had already paid them. The excuse they uses is that I had multiple kids, other charges might come up in the future. Bottom line, its fun and bright, but you do pay for it with aggressive and rushed care. read more

We've been going to adventure dental now for 2 years. We've been consistently disappointed in the care we've received. Both my children having had cavities filled, weren't properly numbed and felt the majority of each procedure. Also, why does it take months to get an appointment to have a cavity filled?! Very over the top for a dentist office! They grab the attention of the kids, but both my kids complained after the cleaning having a lot of pain. I felt like I was working with so many people it was very overwhelming. The end of the visit they send you to the check out for a plan.... with insurance they wanted me to sign a plan which was thousands of dollars after insurance IF my son had cavities! I love Adventure Dental. The staff are friendly and warm and have a magical ability to put my kids at ease. Their office is welcoming, fun, clean, exciting, and located near the greatest taco stand I've been to. There's nothing I don't love about this place and my kids feel the same way when we go in for check-ups and work. We were referred to Dr. Todd by Gillespie Dentistry (who are also awesome) when my young son had a cavity in need of filling. We schedule an appointment after my husband arranged for time off of work and a sitter for our other child. But we were disappointed to discover that the appointment in fact was just a consult and not for treatment. Confusion that resulted from my error, rather than the staff's. Dr. Todd was completely wonderful about the whole thing. After we explained our circumstances, he made room in his schedule and treated my child that same day. I was very surprised but so grateful. I, as an adult, have a lot of dental anxiety as a result of treatments I received as a child. I'm especially appreciative of having pediatric dentists for my children who are not only fun to see, but also offer a variety of treatment options for helping my kids feel more at ease (Sleepy Juice for the win). The staff up front was friendly but at the end of the day we felt like the dentist just care about the money. They worked for almost 2 hours each on my daughters 7 and 4. The Disneyland of dentists. Took my two year old here and it looks more fun than any fun toddler play place around! My child was in shock the first time and refused to open his mouth - but everyone played it cool and we called it a "fun visit". We went back today for a cleaning and I was 100% positive there was zero chance of my toddler cooperating. Wrong again, Mom. The dental hygienist, Gentry, deserves a whole review of her own. A sweet, sweet soul. She was incredibly skilled in the art of toddler negotiation. My two year old had so much fun walking around and playing with her and her cool "toys", I don't think he realizes he had his teeth cleaned. I was in awe. My kids and I LOVE this place. The staff knows kids and are so great with them! They have special sensory rooms, use pet therapy dogs and know how to make kids feel happy! I love that we can go to the same place to get teeth cleaned, cavities filled and orthodontics. I have even used them to get retainers for my own teeth. My kids can't decide if it's the movies, toys, games, or visiting with the Doctors and staff that they enjoy the most, but I appreciate the careful and thorough care they receive!
