They have dropped some coverage with certain insurance companies, but luckily ours wasn't one of them. They have also had a lot of dental hygienist turnover the last couple of years, but they seem to have a full staff again currently. That's been tough for us because we had been spoiled with having the same hygienist for years and got to know them, which added extra comfort to an otherwise stressful experience. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist, but seeing a familiar face had helped ease my anxiety. We love the relaxing spa vibes in this office. It feels clean and comfortable, but not overly clinical like some dentist offices. They offer beverages in the waiting room, which also has a couch and fireplace, making for a cozy environment. We also appreciate that they can make a crown while you wait and watch a Netflix movie. It's nice not have to wait a week for a third party to make the crown and leave the dentist office with a temporary. The in-house crowns we're not something we've experienced before, so that's a huge plus! Overall this is an exceptional dentist office. They have a nice relaxing environment and have the capabilities of performing most dental services in-house. We would highly recommend.

She has some dental anxiety and was tearful before the appointment, but we had a lot of conversation prior about what was going to happen. She did great during the treatment, and the dentist mentioned he was going to work on another area of her mouth. I said to him, "I didn't tell her you would be working on another area. I should probably mention it to her." Anyone with common sense would understand that your kid trusting you is huge when it comes to things like this. I prepared her for what was going to happen at this appointment, and it took some convincing. The dentist just continued on, preparing the other area. I knew my daughter was wondering what was going on, so I said again, "I should probably mention this to her." He pulled his chair away from her, looked at me stunned, and said, "I can't believe I'm stopping this procedure right now to have this conversation!" I told him, "I think you're misunderstanding. I didn't intend for you to stop the procedure; I just need to tell my daughter what's happening." He argued with me and then went completely silent, staring at the ground. I gave him a few seconds until I asked if he was okay. I was honestly worried. He seemed like he was having a breakdown of some sort, and I felt like it was misdirected at me. He said, "I'm just deciding whether to continue this procedure." He said, "Your daughter was close to a panic attack when I came in here, and I wasn't even going to begin!" He then left the room, not even returning to remove her laughing gas mask. The gas was turned off. Thankfully my duaghter had headphones on so she was pretty oblivious this was happening. The MAs apologized profusely and were both so kind. They said they thought he must've misunderstood. When I saw a letter from the dentist's office in the mail, I assumed it was an apology. I assumed he realized how completely unprofessional and disrespectful he was, but now it's my opinion that this is just normal behavior for him! Beware.

When I voiced my concerns and refused to agree to the sudden change, the staff became visibly upset and abruptly ended the appointment without any further discussion. To make matters worse, the next day, we received a letter in the mail stating that we needed to find another provider. This was a highly unprofessional way to handle the situation, and it left us feeling dismissed and disrespected. I would not recommend this clinic to anyone, especially for children, as their lack of communication, unprofessional behavior, and disrespect towards patient concerns were deeply unsettling. The waiting room is themed in white, but it somehow manages to not seem impersonal or cold. It all seems very modern and chic, sort of like an iPhone is in comparison to an old rotary desk phone. Staff is unwaveringly helpful, friendly, supremely professional, endlessly patient, and are clearly experts in their field. The appointment was for my special needs son, and I cannot emphasize strongly enough how perfectly each staff member constantly assessed his comfort level, needs, and how amazingly well they each interacted with him. The technology they employ is amazing, too. They have a stereoscopic dental camera that visually images and does a 3D scan of the patient's teeth and mouth, and they use this actual model with CT scan results to determine what treatments are possible, taking into full consideration the patient's needs and desires. I was VERY impressed with a few other items, too: *Every person's temperature is taking before they're permitted to go from the waiting room to the examination rooms *On the way to the examination rooms is a handwashing station, consisting of two sinks and two faucets. Everybody is required to wash their hands before they are permitted into the exam rooms. *None of the staff members tried to rush anything at all. They all took all of the time the patient needed to get their questions answered and to feel comfortable. Granted, this may result in a longer wait to see the doctor, but I MUCH prefer this to the typical experience where the patient is made to feel like an imposition to the doctor if they have the audacity to actually ask a question or take more than a few minutes for the entire exam. I cannot speak highly enough about The Modern Orthodontist, and strongly recommend the practice.

The only thing I dislike is the wait time before appointments (usually around 20 min), and the fact they take the older children back alone. This is a fairly new practice and if we had been new I don't think we would have stayed. But because I trust the staff we continue to come here.
