i highly recommend this office. dr.j was very nice and explained everything to me about my daughters dental needs, every one at the office went above and beyond to make us feel welcome here, from asking me if i needed water while in the waiting room, to giving my daughter a prize and a balloon! ! while checking out staff went over all the information with me and answerd all of my questions. when i left we felt like family! i cant wait to come back but most importantly my 5 year old daughter cannot wait to come back! 5 stars! awesome office read more

Dr Jensen and front desk staff rude, disregarding and arrogant! Treating us like they know everything and disregarding our questions and concerns. Had no issues till we started raising questions after a procedure. Daughter had surgery and after we couldn't floss between two teeth. We contacted the clinic to take a look at it. And they brushed it off without even offering to take a look. Saying "keep trying". "You can come in but there is nothing we can do about it." After being persistent on having the teeth looked at we finally came in. They told us that it would be a charge for an exam and possibly x-ray. Finally Dr Jensen looked at the teeth and had to drill to fix the issue. Jensen never apologized and didn't take any responsibility and kept blaming his staff for misrepresenting him. read more

They were supposed to do 4 teeth for my child and they put 10 crowns without my permission, and now one of his tooth under the crown hurts and the stupid doctor is saying that he needs to do all of the teeth even though they are only supposed to do one. read more

The 1 star review is not a recommendation against coming here but rather a recommendation to shut your mouth if you have issues, questions or concerns! Been taking our kids here for 4 years without incident... Then recently after raising a concern, post operation on my youngest, we found out you can't do that here... The front desk staff and Dr Jensen became rude, dismissive and absolutely obnoxious! Not going to get into the details here. Dr Jensen was my daughters dentist. He was also the dentist to my foster children. Never really had any issues good or bad, it's a dentist office. He did his job he is paid to do. Until the last time my daughter was seen at the office. My daughter has extreme allergies. She's allergic to latex and nitrile gloves. They don't let the parent go back with them but ask for concerns. I remind the nice young lady of her allergies. So Dr Jensen comes in telling my 11 year old she's not allergic. Told her they use these gloves in surgery. They argued back and forth till my daughter allowed the exam and cleaning. All while wearing nitrile gloves My daughter comes out front with a red blotchy face. I ask her why and she told me what Jensen said. Dr Jensen at that point walks up to me, giving me the same line of garbage No she isn't going to be seen in your office again. Yes she goes every 6 months. Yes they use vinyl gloves for her at her. Ew dentist. Obviously you do not know everything and are more than willing to argue with a child. Maybe next time you'll seek out the parent instead Allergic reactions to nitrile and neoprene are less common than allergic reactions to natural latex. ... Accelerator-free nitrile and neoprene gloves are available for use by people who are highly sensitive to these additives. Allergic reactions to vinyl gloves are almost nonexistent. read more

We took our son in for his first appointment and he loved being in there! They have lots of toys, games, kid friendly decor to make it more interesting for the kids and it makes it more exciting for them. The staff was very kind and helpful. I wish I could leave zero stars!! When I came in for my sons first tooth filling, Danielle, at the front desk said I'll owe $97.00 after insurance. Well once the filling was finished and I came up to pay the number magically went from $97 to $187!!! I get inflation and insurance policies, but wow, that was a gunshot to my foot! I brought my 3 little ones here a few years back but we moved away and now moved back. I forgot how great it is here. So glad we moved back to area. Dr Jensen is Fabulous!! The front desk actually answers the phone, there's is no push 1 or that whole crazy non personal phone system. My kid ask to come every time we go to Fred Myer and see office. Great place. I really like this dentist- he is very chill and upbeat, relates well to the kids, & overall a good dentist! So I was extremely disappointed when I went to make an appointment for my 2 girls, & they told me I had an outstanding balance (very small, less than $70, & I had no idea), so I can no longer go here. I was shocked, because I've been bringing my girls here for years. So disappointing. But I still have to give 4 stars because this guy rocks! read more

Daughter got put out 2-3 years ago to have dental work done. 3 of those teeth have had reoccurring problems 1 had a filling replaced 4-5X ...2 got abccess 1 extracted at a different office and the other she is currently on antibiotics for and will have to get extracted this weekend and will also be done at a different office. read more

My children have been with ACD for 6 years. We have had some ups and downs with service but over all its been good. The staff is always very nice, one female doctor was our favorite but she moved out of town. A few times my MIL who is a dental hygienist went with and questioned a few things, but I assured her that we like them and everything has been A-Ok so far. Fast forward to August, my 6 year old needed to have some caps to put on his teeth for cavities. When it came time for a second round a few weeks later, we ran into some issues, quiet bigger ones if you ask me. We show up to our appointment on time, like always, but have to wait past our appointment time. We get back to the room and the assistant starts to talk about the cleaning. "Cleaning?" I asked, "we just had one last month, which is why we are here today, he needs sliver caps on his molars." The assistant looked surprised, went to the front to figure things out. She comes back and says, " I'm so sorry, you are right." At this point we are 30 minutes after our appointment, possibly longer and are placed in the "space room" where they do the surgeries. Within seconds Dr. Jensen comes in, in a hurry and places the laughing gas on my son. He then places the numbing gel in his lip, gets the needle used to numb, and starts sticking him. Didn't allow the numbing gel to work at all. My son is moaning in pain, and he's quickly stabbing away. At one point my son starts crying. He stops and says in a very annoyed voice, trying to be calm " if you don't stop crying we can't continue." My son said " it hurts" He said " I'm going to begin again." my son starts crying and Dr. Jensen says " if you can use your big boy words then we can't continue." At this point I got on the floor and rubbed my sons leg, because this is not like him. He can normally handle pain very well for a 6 year old and never cried that it hurt from when the other doctor did it a few weeks ago. So Dr. Jensen looks at me and says " well we can continue or you can come back another day." I asked my son and he said come back. I said to Dr. Jensen " well this wouldn't of happened had we allowed the numbing meds to kick in before." He looked at me put his hands up, he was pissed, it was very obvious, and says " Listen, lets get one thing straight, I just don't STAB people ok!" I said " well you did, you didn't allow the numbing gel to kick in." He blamed my son, saying he clearly has anxiety and that's the issue. No him. I said " he has had no anxiety from the last one, he did learn a valuable lesson on not to chew his lip when numb though." Dr. Jensen was pissed, he was clearly having a bad day and this just was the icing on the cake. Listen, I get it, we've all had bad days at work where were are just DONE, and he was clearly DONE. He left the oxygen on my sons nose for another minute or so while the laughing gas cleared and walked out of the room. No information, no bye, no see you in X amount of weeks. Nothing. I spoke with my son on the way home, and he said it just hurt. He wasn't where he put the numbing gel. I apologized and felt like crying because I know how it feels not to be numbed and stabbed with those needles. Fast forward to 2 weeks later and there is a post in the Battle Ground Facebook group about another mom having the same exact situation as I did. I commented with my story. Over the next few hours, more and more moms were commenting with the same issue. I had some relief that I wasn't the only person that felt this way, or had the same experience. Some parents commented with there has been high tension and stress within the practice and the patients have been picking up on it. I did some research and found that I wouldn't be taking 6 year old son back here, but would be willing to allow my 3 year old, as he just has cleanings and exams every 6 months. Nothing major. Today, 10/15/19 I got a text message from ACD stating it was time to schedule an appointment for my 3 year old son, which I thought was weird since we have one scheduled in November. I spoke with the receptionist and she said they canceled the appointment in November. I asked why, and she said Dr. Jensen has notes in the computer stating that you commented on a post on FB that he doesn't agree with and assumed you wouldn't be coming back. I said " assumed, I wasn't planning on bringing my oldest back, but I planned on bringing my 3 year old back. If you guys didn't want me as a customer, why would you not send me a letter, or a text stating that I was being removed." The receptionist said " I'm not sure, I'm really sorry." I asked her to remove me from their text messages, and we both hung up the phone. I personally find it unprofessional that if you don't agree with a type of care that was given that either people can't take the criticism and just remove you as a customer without a letter, note, email, text, phone call nothing. He very well could have had my son just see another doctor at that practice. read more

I wish I could give you more stars! This place is amazing. My kids LOVE going to the dentist. They look forward to it every time!! I take all my kids in at the same time and we are in and out in 30 minutes!! Every person in the staff is so friendly, knowledgeable and amazing! I hear horror stories about dental experiences and I am so grateful to have this dental office to go to for my kids. The decor and toys, video games, movies in every dental chair and cool prizes when they are done are icing on the cake!! Thank you!! read more

Dr. Jensen has a horrible bedside manner. Needs classes on how to effectively communicate with parents of patients. Told me that if I didn't agree to radiographs every six months for my grandson then I needed to go ELSEWHERE. Visual exam showed caries, so I agreed to radiographs. Even though my grandson had apt 6 months prior, he showed 7 new caries. Needless to say, I agree that he, being cavity prone does need x-rays every 6 months. I asked Jensen how many appts it would take to get fillings done, he said ONE because if I didn't agree to IV sedation, then we could go ELSWHERE. My grandson is excellent in the dental chair. No behavioral problems whatsoever. I mentioned that some kids die under IV sedation and Jensen got snotty. He just wanted to sedate my child to make it easier for himself. Telling people to ELSWHERE if they don't go along with you is not a very good way to do business. I will tell everyone I can about my negative experience with Jensen. I am a dental hygienist and he treated me like an uneducated child. Ester, on the other hand was excellent and my granddaughter loves her. read more

I am a child and I had to get a tooth pulled. They did my other work first, then they took pliers and ripped my tooth out. They were fighting for who would pull it out. Then, he just yanked it out. It hurt really bad. Everyone else was nice because the main dentist (the only man worker) and ripped it out. It hurt really bad and I don't want to go there again. read more

Visited this office with son for the first time last month and we loved the office! My son is normally pretty nervous in a medical environment, but at A Children's Dentist the staff really took the time to explain what he would be doing during the visit and the tools that would be used and it really calmed his anxiety and made him realize there was nothing to be scared of! Took my child here for first dental "work", everything seems normal and friendly until you advocate against sedation for your child.. Yes my child had several fillings to do but they refused to even let us try to treat them without placing an IV drip of Propofol- and putting her under. For a 4 year old- I asked if the dentist would mind just trying to see how she did with Nitrous (happy gas), that id come back as many times as i needed (and pay for multi visits) so she wouldn't feel overwhelmed. He didn't even come talk to me he sent one of the "friendly" staff to "remind me" how she was at her initial exam...I'm thinking "huh?!!" she was nervous, but no tears, no fighting, no biting, no refusal- what about her exam?! Feeling nervous about general anesthesia for your child is RIGHT No matter what they say- then I get reminded at what trauma I'm placing my child in by her being conscious..and how one of them had traumatic experiences at a dentist. Oh and the anesthesia is somewhere beyond a thousand dollars out of pocket and plus the work (for which we had good coverage). I asked the lady at what age they don't need to sedate and she said 8 or 10? Omg seriously. That was confusing too since one child came out screaming after treatment so I assumed he was awake! Anyways..saga continues SO I consult family, who reassure me that was unacceptable- I call a dentist in Oregon feeling a second opinion is in line- they are awesome from the first return phone call..AND through the iniial exam, X-ray and treatment which they started on the first visit! I asked about propofol etc as above recommended and he politely disagreed (seemed baffled at that practice). First visit only about 45 mins and already progress. Two visits and watermelon nitrous gas later (ps; no tears, fits or problems either) and my little girl was better- I wrote this to warn other parents that they don't need to be guilted into unneccesary sedation drugs (in most situations) which do carry risk even if it is minimal. If they feel compelled to fight this review please..correct your practice first. read more

I have two kids, one is 13 and the other is 6. My 6 year old was NOT excited, in fact terrified to go to the dentist this morning, so I was nervous about how it was all going to pan out. Although she cried the whole way, once we got inside she immediately calmed down a bit. Let's just say that the decor in this office is FANTASTIC. It was like we walked into Disneyland. They had a movie showing, plenty of toys and even a "game room". The front desk ladies were very kind, reassuring, and understanding to my sensitive daughter. The tech who cleaned my daughter's teeth showed her everything, and explained it to her before she did it to help ease her fears. Dr. Conway was fantastic with her as well, and explained everything to me about both daughter's to help ensure continued dental success. Basically, every step of the way they made it a good experience for my sweet, timid daughter. (The 13 year old is a pro at this, and didn't have ONE single cavity!) We have been to other "children's" dentists, but NEVER have we experienced this level of care. They had a great "prize" section for a reward after, and just one hour after we left they called to check on the girls and see if I had any questions about my youngest daughter's return visit for fillings. This place is amazing! The staff are extremely friendly, genuinely so. The started right on time and were very efficient. It's the first dentist we've been to were the kids actually seem relaxed. At the time of this entry, my Son and Grandson are STILL sitting in the waiting room. Their appointment was originally for 0900. They called late yesterday afternoon and changed it to 1100. It's now 1235 ... an hour and a half past appointment and they are still sitting there. Grandson hasn't been able to eat anything since last night. NEVER going back and certainly WILL NEVER recommend them to anyone. read more
