05/26/20 - I went Advocate Medical Group to get a chest X-ray because of a fall I had on 05/20/20. I was walking & stepped up on a curb misjudging my step I fell backwards landing very hard on the asphalt. I figured everything would return to normal in a day or 2, but this constant extreme pain lingered for days. My wife & sister kept telling me I should go to the ER but I figured the pain would ease up in a few days. I called my doctor to try and get an X-Ray. They asked me a series of questions to determine if I was a potential risk for Covid. I told them I coughed so they sent me to the Glenview Advocate Medical Group because they marked that for potential Covid patients (I don't have Covid). Are you serious I haven't slept in a bed since 05/19/20 because it's too painful to lay down. I have been sleeping upright in a chair (as of this review 05/29/20 I'm still sleeping upright). I can't get a full breath because it hurts to breath, cough or move. I was sure I had a fracture or broken rib. Well I finally went on 05/26/20 to the Advocate facility in Glenview on Waukegan just north of Lake Street. As we pulled up the parking lot in front was empty so we pulled into a parking space a nurse came out and asked if we could pull into the designated check lane in as marked by orange cones & tape. She the asked what we were there for I told her I needed an X-ray that my doctor called in. She took my temperature (96.2) & asked the standard Covid questionnaire. Blah, blah blah then she put a number on our car and asked us to repark in the lot and an X-ray technician would come and get me (dam I thought they were going to bring me food). Finally the X-ray technician comes out brings me in and does the deed. The X-ray showed no broken ribs or fractures but it still hurts like hell. Chest x-ray is showing mild lung opacities which are considered to be related with focal lung collapse and is normal finding. I went early in the morning and got in and out pretty quickly. Avoid this location at all costs! Well worth the drive to ANYWHERE else for a professional doctor to see you. Met with Dr. Anastasia Gianakakos because this is the random place I got scheduled to when my pediatrician was booked up and I wanted my son to have a quick checkup before going out of state for a month. Big waste of time. She was an hour and a half late to our appointment and in my experience, its zero fun corralling a small, active baby in a hot, tiny room. Upon meeting, she was erratic and seemed super frazzled...she kept repeating the same phrases and speaking to us like English wasn't our native language. Told me my 6 month old needed brain surgery, when he actually needed a helmet for a flat side on his head. Freaked out on us when we said we were probably going to get a second opinion. She actually asked me how I would know anything if I didn't go to medical school? Haha. Trust your gut, people. And go anywhere else. Your auto mechanic would know more about medicine than this crazy woman. read more

The reviews are accurate. I do not recommend this location at all. The wait time for a scheduled appointment is unacceptable. The lack of professionalism is inexcusable. I have seen various doctors at this location and after another negative experience, I will never return. The doctors at this practice should be ashamed of their behaviors and attitudes. I once expressed my concerns about this practice to a manager who was requested by another patient (that patient had just had a heated confrontation with a rude front staff member). In my private meeting with that manager she labeled that other patient as a problem patient. She went on and on about that patient when in fact this practice is the real problem. I moved here 4 years ago and saw Dr. Modi. He is wonderful. He treats the whole person............I respect him. He is not an alarmist but relies on tests, blood work to assess my issues. I find that the nurses and lab technicians are very professional. I have never had an issue with the front desk.......even during the transition with the computer system. You have to be a little patient when you are dealing with this many people. I have full confidence in the advice I am given, the courses I am taking and the direction we are going with whatever I have effecting me. I have not seen anyone else so I cannot review them. It has been over a year now and I'm still dealing with advocate medical. BE AWARE. They incorrectly charged me as out of network even though my insurance BCBS is in network. An error on their behalf. This lead to me overpaying several hundred on my bill. I was supposed to be reimbursed. I've been calling and leaving voicemails several times a week, over 15 times. People don't get back to you. This has been going on for over a year and even blue cross has been calling because of their repeated failed attempts at getting back and addressing their mistake. They have been a nightmare to work with. Northwestern is MUCH easier to deal with. Just please see if you can use an alternate healthcare provider instead since their customer service is unimaginably bad it's quite unfortunate. If you need immediate care in Glenview go to the one directly in back of Trader Joe's instead. Northwestern I believe? They have much better customer service. Best of luck. read more

I went to go see Dr. Modi in the fall with urinary tract symptoms.I had gone to Walgreens and was given an antibiotic, but it turned out the bacteria I had wasn't susceptible to that medication. They refused to change my medication based on a culture. I then went to this practice thinking they'd change my medication. My urine was cloudy and I was in pain. He told me as I was telling him my symptoms that I did not have a UTI. Turns out the UTI, which is what it was, formed into a kidney stone. I would never trust this practice with a paper cut. read more

Avoid this place. Whoever is the supervisor or manager here needs to be replaced! They are not driving performance or customer service. I've been here several times and it is always the same poor service. Firstly the staff at the entrance is immature. They do not greet you and are usually in conversation between themselves which take priority over customers. The X-ray staff is always talking and laughing for minutes and minutes with no patients inside. You wait endlessly for them to finish their business. This place needs a stern manager to drive professionalism and customer service. Perhaps when patients avoid this place and the workers feel their jobs are at risk, then they will shape up but by then - it's too late! We will not be back here. read more

Dr. Modi listened and properly diagnosed and treated two chronic conditions causing misery for her that had escaped the notice of many doctors and specialists over the years. This was a routine physical exam until I receive my bill for over 200$ for my routine Lab work ! I was asked quest by the doctor and I answered them!A lady from the office called me she was kind of rude, her name i believe was Stephany ,I asked her how is possible to get billed for diagnostic labs since I was there for physicals exam . " i find this answer rude and unprofessional!I wonder how is that my responsibility??what is the purpose of the Physical exam then ??if she thought I had symptoms why I was not send to a specialist ?what I am supposed to answer if im asked if I have any concerns??? That's a tricky question if you say yes I do that gets you a bigger bill!until today's date I have no paper saying what my diagnose is no results from this lab test !They even told me I have a prescription to prove that I was sick ... I took my daughter after 5PM for their walk-in clinic for a swollen finger (looks like cellulites). The place is nice, modern, & clean (except for the floor as it is winter). The Medical assistant or nurse is very nice. Then here comes the Manijeh Ghafouri APN (advance practice nurse)... came to the room, said "hi", declared she is a pediatric NP (sounded like trying to convince me). My daughter is sitting in a chair & this NP didn't even care to look closely at her finger, instead she stood 3 feet away, peeked at my daughter's hand (like we have contagious disease she doesn't want to get close), with her hands tucked in her lab coat pocket. NO REAL EVALUATION!!! Did not touch my daughter's hand at all to closely look at the finger. Then asked me, "so she just need an antibiotic huh?" Then I thought to myself... didn't we come here to get treated and get a professional opinion? Why is she asking me? I got the antibiotic & it's under dose My daughter is 45kg!!!! She was only given 250mg BID. Cephalexin is 25-50mg/kg/day. So even if she is giving the lowest dose (25mg), my daughter is suppose to get 500mg BID. Don't they have calculators in the clinic? Also, NO DISCHARGE SUMMARY, and NO DIAGNOSIS! What kind of clinic is this? Also she keeps on insisting we go back to a pediatrician & have the pediatrician prescribe my daughter a medication to calm her down from picking at her finger I can't wait for the press Ganey survey to arrive. Would give 0 stars if possible. Worst doctor possible. Gave an unnecessarily long pelvic exam to my daughter in her teens and touched her inappropriately. There should be no touching the inside of a teenage girl during a annual physical exam. BEAWRE all parents and stay in the room when the doctor is examining your child.I did not stay in the room since I was never given the option to do so by the doctor. I was out of HBP medication and doctor refused to refill until I made an appointment to see her. She's holding your medication hostage until you make an appointment to which they will incorrectly bill you for. Also, I went to immediate care and was injected with a medication that I'm allergic to which was clearly written in my chart. No apologies from them. DO NOT GO HERE. TRAVEL FURTHER BUT GO ELSEWHERE. After waiting an hour for xray for my daughter I had to leave and went to Glenbrook hospital for her xray. The staff is unprofessional here from the moment you enter the door. Xray technician never showed up after an hour. There were no other people in the room but you hear the laughing and chatterbox going on. It seems they have young and inexperienced and unprofessional staff here. At a previous visit the technician compared xrays for my other child to previous ones and made the wrong assessment even though it was obvious. My pediatrician had to call them out. This place should be taken over by new management and start fresh or run out of business soon. Will not go there again. read more
