I feel constantly challenged to go to the next level of therapy (which I love!) but not pushed to do something I am not ready to do. I love all the tips on how to continue working at home, and the fact that they make doing repetitive workouts almost enjoyable with their pleasant personalities and lively discussions. You can see that they enjoy what they do, and try to help their patients actually enjoy their appointments by interacting on a more personal level and chatting about our common interests. The location is great, and seems to have all the necessary equipment for any type of P.T. Their cleaning/sanitizing routines make it feel like a safe environment. While Dr. Palmer might be a great surgeon, his support staff could use a lesson or two, or three in how to work with patients. Exceptionally hard time getting calls back in a timely manner, as well as getting pain meds for hip pain awaiting a hip replacement that should never have taken as long as it did to complete. Could not be trusted to handle FMLA nor long term disability paperwork in a timely manner. The head nurse that was assigned to us should absolutely be ashamed for her very clear indifference to the situation. My mother almost completely lost her ability to walk while waiting for her operation. No sense of urgency or priority for her despite her debilitating pain. I'll always carry resentment for how things were handled by this office.

What I found to be above and beyond , Joel would stay late/come in early to try to accommodate my work schedule. I saw him do this not just with me, but with others who needed slightly earlier/later times. It is a small place with just a few folks, where the upside to that is they get to know you, your requirements and you as a person. Makes a world of difference that you are someone/ an individual person with specific needs and not just another name on a list to be churned around as quickly as possible. The location is clean and the equipment is up to date. The environment here is one that makes patients with discomfort feel more comfortable. Melissa is very warm and helpful at the front desk. Scheduling and payments were always easy with her, and she would get to the bottom of any question I posed. I had two therapists during my month of rehab: Stephanie and Dan. They are both charismatic and easy to talk to during my trips there. They manage multiple patients at once while being sure to give the appropriate amount of individualized attention. Stephanie is thorough and great with exercises and paperwork and Dan is a very strong therapist, which was very helpful in my case. I have low back issues that were pinching a nerve causing pain down my entire right side. The two of them helped to alleviate my constant torment and give me some great reminders of what to do at home as well as positive reinforcement while at the clinic. I admire the way Dan manages this location because everyone enjoys being there, from the employees to the patients to my poor son who had to wait for me on his best behavior. They always made us feel at ease. I would recommend this location to anyone close, it's probably even worth the extra mile or two drive if another location is closer to you.

The first time, for the first appointment, I remember her card was declined, but they ran it again and it was accepted the second time before she even started the session. That was the first $120 that we started to receive bills for. The second two charges, I have no idea what went wrong with their system. I suggested to the company that maybe she was getting charged for appointments that she had changed (that they had charged for the changed day), but they told me they don't charge unless she actually shows up and gets the service. So the last two charges are a real mystery, but they are obviously charging her for days she has already paid for. So the bottom line is that there appears to be something really wrong with their charging/financial system in that it thinks you didn't pay when you did. When I googled about this, I read about "billing errors" and "overbilling" problems that the company has. Now we have to prove to the company that she paid every time she went - which is going to be a real pain that I don't have time for.

I found Chris Kelly when he and Mary first opened Fox Valley P.T. and Wellness when my husband required specialized Physical Therapy after spinal surgery and months at Marionjoy and the treatment from Chris was exceptional! For myself, I have received P.T. from Chris following 2 knee replacements.. both knees are still strong after ten years. in the interim I have returned for P.T. for shoulder , back and balance issues which have been resolved each time under Chris' personalized therapy and home exercise plan. In the air I went landing squarely on my right side. At first I thought I was fine. I had pain but thought it would go away when the bruises went away. I was so wrong. The pain was there on and off, and then it was always there. It was the kind of pain that I learned to live with. I made adjustments around it. I slept only on my back with extra pillows in bed to prop up my legs. I had pillows tucked on either side of me so I would not turn over during the night because some sleep positions caused more pain than others. (My husband did not like that). Special pillows when I sat in chairs as firm chairs were unforgiving and caused sciatica pain. I had a special pillow for my chair at the dinner table. I even had a pillow for my lower back while driving. I could not stand for long periods of time. I could not bend down for fear of the shooting pain while getting up. I could not clean or carry moderately heavy things. Forget about exercising or taking long walks. If I did, I knew I would pay dearly for it less than an hour later. The changes I made in my life to accommodate pain were ridiculous. One Sunday evening while I was going through my "survival system", my husband said, "I've had it! You're going to get you back fixed. On a Sunday night, he made an online appointment through yelp for Serene Chiropractic. And Monday morning at 8:00 am someone from Serene called me and the rest is history. One day, about 3 to 4 weeks into my care I had a very shocking realization, I was no longer in pain!!! My husband began to notice I moved faster without wincing in pain. I could grocery shopping, and go for walks. I had no pain!!! My quality of life improved tremendously. My daughter even told me I stand differently...straighter and taller. She said I did not stand 'old' anymore. Ha! Dr. Sojitra is an excellent doctor!!! He helped me understand how the fall had taken my spine out of alignment, compressed the nerves in my spine, tilted my pelvis, as well as, the ways my body was trying to tell me it needed help. They actually treat you like a person and even remember and greet you by name. They work with you and your pain and injury rather than go by the book and go out of their way to help you, way beyond the call of duty. They spend time getting to know you and your injury and focus on those points not like the other places that tell you to do your exercises by rote and don't even make eye contact treating you like a zombie. A special shout out to the therapists there who genuinely care like Barbara, Pretzel, Mocha, Brittany and Palak who treated me like family. If you're looking for physical therapy stop your search right here and go there. I very highly recommend it and will stand by it.
