I've been coming here for nearly 4 years for cuts and color, and I recommend it to everyone. Celina (owner and stylist) is fantastic and emphasizes educating clients about their hair, how to properly wash and style at home, etc. The salon is also sustainable and uses high-quality European products, and stylists are paid living wages (fees are hourly; no tip). I've brought my mom here as well over the years, and Celina has done fantastic grey coverage and color blending specifically designed for if you can only get your hair done a couple times per year. It holds up great. Finally, there's an adorable salon puppy (not pictured, sorry) and complementary beverages if you want a coffee, soda, beer/cider, etc. 100% recommend if you want to support a local business with ethical practices that also provides great results. read more

Service was amazing. Liz took care of my daughter. Took her time with her and answered all her questions. She was really sweet. A bit pricey but considering where they r located. It's understandable. Ok. You know how when you find something special you want to keep it to yourself? That's Celina. I found out about Celina a few years ago when I was following a social media influencer (I know, I know) and absolutely fell in love with her hair. Every time she got her hair done I was constantly impressed. So, after a few years of stalking I decided to finally take the plunge and meet Celina in person for a hair cut. Although it was "only a cut" it was a pretty big chop and I only want that in the hands of a professional. Celina is amazing. She is very intelligent and before she even touches your hair she sits you down and gets to know you, your hair history, health, etc. She truly wants to get to the "root" of it all... har har. Pardon that pun. She truly understood my hair and asked me specific questions about my regrowth due to hormone influx and stopping breast feeding. She then explained everything and made sure to keep my needs in mind. Once it was time for a wash I was honored to have her salon pup, Sterling, join me on my chest. It was so sweet and honestly really calming. He's a sweet dog and even showed off some of his tricks he was taught :) Adorable! During the cut and style Celina taught me a lot of techniques to use at home to dry my hair and take care of it correctly. She focused on explaining how to give a great blow out and hope I can make her proud at home. It's my homework :o) The products she uses SMELL AMAZING and from she tells me are sustainable and environment friendly. Yay! I can't wait to go back for a color appointment in the future and do something fun. Thank you for making my first experience perfect, Celina. You were a joy. Don't hesitate. Just book your appointment! I've been getting my hair done professionally for 25+ years and this is by far the best salon experience I've ever had. My hair has been almost every color imaginable and varied from a pixie cut to reaching my butt over the years. I've searched for years and finally found my unicorn hairstylist ~ Liz at Aeffect hair. I'd been visiting another well known Orlando area salon and wasn't happy with my look and my hair was extremely dry and damaged using their branded products. My sis gets her hair done by Celina and kept urging me to make an appointment at Aeffect and I'm glad I finally did. I set up a consult and talked with Liz about my hair goals and we made a plan. We set aside 4 hours for my return appointment. Sitting in her chair, I knew I was in an artists hands and she worked her magic. I'm a person that is looking for direction when it comes to my hair and she provides that. She found the curls I didn't know existed and cut and colored to enhance my look. I'm elated to have a hairstyle that is easy to maintain on my own. It's awesome to have products that work and smell amazing. I also appreciate the pricing at Aeffect Hair. They charge an hourly rate that is disclosed up front. There aren't any surprise fees and no need to figure out a tip amount since it's an hourly rate. TLDR: Celine: ARTIST, CURL GOD, CHEMIST, GENIUS, KIND, EMPATHETIC, CONSISTENT QUALITY, PROBLEM SOLVER, LGBTQIA ALLY, HILARIOUS. Long version: I cannot speak highly enough about Celine. Before I went to her I was at my wits end and had half of mine to shave my head. I thought that I had wavy frizzy hair before seeing her but apparently I have wavy/curly hair. I gave her free reign for a haircut and she did an incredible job. I had originally looked into doing a diva cut but cannot find a salon with consistent reviews. I am so glad that I went to her instead. She thinks three dimensionally and cuts your hair specific for you and your hair pattern. She is an active listener and actually gives you the style or color you ask for. Gone are the days of crying in my car after a haircut or color due to it not matching inspiration pictures. I have gone to her multiple times and every single time she has delivered. I will say she has put me into several awkward situations after getting my hair dyed from her because she did such a good job matching my skin tone to a color that complemented me, I have had multiple people come up to me and say that I was so blessed that God gave me the most beautiful curly red hair and rave about how beautiful my color is. I was terrified about dying my hair and that it would ruined my curl pattern but it has consistently been great even after multiple dies because of the care that Celine puts into my hair. I purchased all of my products from her so I can have her salon quality hair styling in my home. She is a chemist and actually explains to you the science behind while you're here ask a certain way to color or cut. She has made some thing I have dreaded my entire life something that I actually look forward to. I recommend her to all of the LGBTQIA people I encounter at my line of work, especially Trans people looking for gender affirming hair cuts with a salon that will treat them with the respect and care they deserve. I will post some before and after pictures so that you can see what I was working with before was maybe frizzy wavy and what I have now is just the best! I started out with just a haircut and then ended up getting cuts and coloring. I am honestly so pleased. She also makes BANGING lattes and cappuccinos with oat milk! (Also she has a sweet little well trained hypoallergenic dog Sterling in salon who makes the experience so much more enjoyable). read more

Liz Donahue is the best! She has been my stylist for over a year and when she joined Aeffect Hair I followed her there and I am really glad I did. The salon is doing everything they can to make me feel safe in this Coronavirus world we're living in. It's very clean and the stations are spaced apart so I don't have to worry someone will breathe on me. The location off of Park Avenue is convenient and there's always parking on New England. And of course most of all, I am always really happy with the results Liz gets out of my hair! She's a miracle worker. Highly recommended. read more

Update: Went in for another root touch up and left feeling like a million bucks! Celina really works magic! I always get compliments after leaving her salon! And it's a fun vibe inside, they're always playing my favorite music jams! This salon isn't like others I've seen. It gives an edgy, industrial, minimalist, modern vibe. Straight from the get go walking down the stairs from street level you're like 'What's this, am I still in Florida?' Then even better it's super Eco-conscious and promotes recycling and has up-cycled decor. The staff aren't uppity or pretentious but instead the opposite, warm, friendly and eager to beautify you all the while educating you on the local "what's uppery" that keeps this town unique. But I must admit my all time favorite thing about this salon is the owner, Celina! I have been following her for years as its only from her hands that my locks stay gorgeous AND healthy! From someone with a bright bold hair color, I know I must show my hair extra TLC and I get that from Celina. She's also got me ADDICTED to all of the best Davines hair care products. Even if you don't care about the health, texture or sexiness of your hair... You'll want Davines because of all the smells it gives you. Just breathe it in. Celina and team are THE BEST in Orlando. I repeat, the best. I've been going here for 4 years now and every single time they go above and beyond. Celina is who I see regularly and she is truly a master at her craft. She listens, she educates, and she delivers. What I love about her most is her honesty and realism. The ladies of the family swear by Celina. She is very talented, driven, committed, creative, artistic and hilarious to boot! Celina listens to the client and will not steer you wrong! Her eye for style and color is impeccable. The Davines products she uses smell great so there's no 'chemical' smell in the entire place (which is fantastic). Celina is also an educator which speaks to her experience and expertise. She is also constantly striving to improve herself in the field -- always learning, teaching and applying new techniques and products. The salon is clean, relaxing and has sustainable practices (which was the cherry on top of this great salon). Sterling (her dog) is a bonus. While waiting, you can sip on locally sourced fresh pressed juice, coffee or craft beers. Don't go anywhere else. read more

Recently had my first appointment my with hair stylist Angela at Aeffect Hair. She is a wonderful new addition to the staff at the salon. I was beyond thrilled how the entire salon & staff was abiding with the importance of keeping everyone safe during this horrific pandemic which changes how a business will run successfully. From start to finish I had no doubt of my comfortability with getting my hair services. Angela is an amazing hair stylist!!! Came here for the first time, and I already can't wait to get my hair cut again. Located in the heart of Hannibal Square, this eco-friendly salon is surrounded by other high-end salons. Aeffect Hair is modern and industrial, but not in a cold or standoff-ish sort of way. The environment is cool and laid back. The fact that it is below street level was really exciting to me. Walking down the stairs, you are led into this new-age salon by the sweet scent of high quality hair products (as weird as that sounds, that was a really great feeling). The owner, Celina greeted me immediately, offering me something to drink while I waited. I chose fresh juice. I love the atmosphere at Aeffect. It's laid back and comfortable, abs you can clearly tell you're in a high-end salon. Celina made me feel comfortable in her chair. I came in with long brown hair, and left with a shoulder length textured cut. Celina added complimenting highlights by hand which turned out beautifully. I saw a Alexia Juncia! She amazing! I have extremely curly hair and I've never had a hair cut I liked or gone to a salon and wasn't nervous until I walked into æffect and met Alexia. I love this salon! I had a great cut and color from Rachel- and will definitely be coming back. She is an amazing colorist and keeps my hair looking gorgeous and healthy. The salon itself is awesome. Nearly all the furniture, counter tops, and art are recycled or up-cycled. The salon also recycles all of its waste beauty products such as container and hair foils. I love the Eco-friendly concept that is unique to this salon. Everything is also high-end and hip. And you can of course get a local beer, wine, or espresso while enjoying your haircut. It was my first visit to Aeffect about a week ago, so I talked with Alexia about what I was looking for in my haircut. Alexia took her time and made sure I was happy with how my hair was turning out, asking me questions about preferred length, layering, etc. along the way. My hair turned out fantastic and is exactly what I was looking for - fun and low maintenance. The salon itself has a chill, relaxed atmosphere with friendly people. Celina (the owner) is a truly talented, passionate, extremely knowledgable, & creative person. I will never go anywhere else. She spent time with me before starting & was able to get so much information from me, which led to her giving me a fantastic haircut & color! the best part is that she knew exactly what would & wouldn't work for me - as I am a stay at home mom who doesn't tend to have the time to blow & style my hair, my cut is perfect for an air dry look or on the rare occurrence I do have time, it looks amazing! Before becoming her client, I had been a 15+ year client of Nuve Nobe (previous Charles David salon, I think), and I have never gotten more compliments on my hair, or felt this good about it myself. This salon is beautiful. The people are not only talented but so caring, sweet and kind. I love Celina and would never let anyone else ever do my hair (even tho her stylists are the best too). She is amazing at cuts and color. She is also fun to talk to and spunky and upbeat. You always feel good walking in but you feel amazing walking out. I absolutely love this salon - between the stylists who are super personable, the products used during styling and offered for sale, and the cleanliness of the salon, I can't imagine going anywhere else. I've been highlighting my hair for close to 20 years now and don't experience hair breakage and dehydration at Aeffect Hair like I used to at other salons. I've been going to Celine for a couple years now and she is an absolute pro at what she does! She listens to what I want and doesn't do any processing that she thinks won't look good - she's terrific on color - comes out exactly as I like it. My haircut is always easy to style. She's also fabulous to chat with, which is an added bonus. The new salon is awesome and in a great location. Also love the "green" eco program. I never raise my voice, not one time and if I wasn't there it would've went better witch is false because my son never would've went into a room with a stranger if I was not there cause that's just how he is , I know how to calm my son down and she would not allow me. I had some severe heat damage that I was hoping Heather could help me with over time by getting frequent haircuts and receiving product education. Shes amazing and explains the dos and don'ts with products with ease. Shes very talented and easy to talk to! I will definitely keep going to her every 3-4 months! Noreen Hall is my stylist and she is absolutely amazing. She does a perfect job highlighting my hair to look like a natural blonde.
