I've frequented both the Ivanhoe location as well as the Mills 50 location. This review is for Ivanhoe. This location has a pretty small parking lot, so i was very lucky to grab a spot, but with all the construction on Ivanhoe at the moment, parking might be a challenge. I had such a nice experience here. As someone who has always struggled with finding a stylist I left Theory so happy. Dawn took such great care of me and really listened to the feedback and styling I was looking for. I have always had really long and thick hair and she did a fantastic job with the things I wanted. The staff is very welcoming and they offer you a selection of drinks such as coffee, soda wine and water. I highly recommend checking it out. read more

Service here is chaotic. Been here twice and i remembered why i never went back years ago. I had an appointment and still was treated like a walk-in. My stylist was rushed and distracted in the middle of a process with another client. Everyone in here has an air of being better than everyone else. It's very uncomfortable & crowded. And they charge sooo much for these stuck up stylists. I was charged over $100 for trimming my ends and my bangs on dry hair. (No wash, or styling) I was really looking for a long term stylist/salon but this place felt pretentious & overpriced. And after reception kept changing my appointments i decided to never go back. Luckily I was able to get in for my actual hair appointment that next week and she CRUSHED it! This place is so adorable, everyone is friendly, and my hair service (that in the past has taken 8 hours elsewhere) took only 3.5. I went to two other salons and had inquiries from two additional salons while making my choices. I set up consultations and this salon already started on the right way. First they send you a detailed questionnaire and allow for attachments of your current hair and the style you are hoping to achieve. It must be completed before the visit. I strongly suggest you know your hair because talking hair is much easier on the same wave lol length lol. Because my initial consult was with a different stylist and after review of my questionnaire they called me immediately and set me up with a different stylist. I loved the experience of talking with my stylist and that they are also a hands on teaching the up and coming stylists. No product up sales, used the products on me that were right for me. They had permission to video the transformation. Sara was amazing and talked me through along with teaching the upcoming stylist. read more

Extremely unprofessional!!! If I could give this place zero stars I would. Do not even waste your time attempting to book an appointment with this salon! I scheduled an appointment well over a month ago, I paid my deposit, I had a consultation. I did everything that was asked of me. This salon is very unethical and they canceled my appointment because apparently the "stylist" whom I was seeing is "not accepting new clients." This should have been communicated to me BEFORE I went through all of the trouble they asked me. The manager was rude and nasty to me over the phone and refused service to me. I work customer service this is a horrible way to do business. Stay away. They also had the audacity to block me from their social media page because how dare I share my review of how UNPROFESSIONAL this experience was on MY PERSONAL SOCIAL MEDIA PAGE. I have never experienced this level of childish unprofessionalism. I see absolutely zero accountability. I speak facts. The owner(s) should be ashamed of themselves. Julie Willard is incredible. If you're ever in need of the best blow out and cut ever (which you should be) you have to come here and work with her. I flew in from NYC and needed an emergency cut and blow out for an event same night. She took me in- and was so diligent and focused on getting me exactly what I needed. Mostly because she cared about my hair health and the integrity of the work. Which is rare. Love her!!! 10/10. 5 stars. Lastly, her biggest strength is being young- she knows what looks good and has good energy. Give her a raise. Give her the world. Or some celebrity is gonna snatch her up and make her their personal stylist. Also, she gave me great recommendations for my hair texture, scalp, and season. So attentive! Star (Estrella) literally left me at a loss for words. I have gotten balayage done by several high end salons and I have never felt as happy and satisfied with my hair as I am right now. She did a color correction as I was using box dye during the pandemic from home. The color melt and blend she did was absolutely flawless!!! Overview: Sarah has been doing my hair for years and made the transition to Theory Salon a while ago, and I'd honestly follow her to the end of the Earth if I had to. I've visited twice within the pandemic time frame and have felt so safe each time. Customers and employees alike are still taking all precautions and steps for safe procedures very seriously. Location: Parking is across the street from the salon, behind the chain link fence slated for school events. I cant recall if there is a crosswalk, however, the street isn't very busy so walking to the front of the shop is easy enough. Experience: Any time I have wanted to do something drastic with my hair, Sarah was open and honest about the process (time, cost, recommended products, etc.). I never felt like I was being taken advantage of, and she always listens to my needs and understands my daily routine so she is not giving me a cut or style I won't be able to manage on my own. She dedicates her time and attention 100% each time I am in there and that in itself is priceless. Even the other stylists are so focused and passionate with their clients. This is the kind of higher-end salon I would expect in big cities (including the price.) Very modern and lively. You change out of your shirt into a smock so your top stays clean. The hair wash sink is very comfortable...sore neck days are gone! My stylist Karissa went above and beyond to make sure that every product that touched my head was vegan. She is not only amazing at giving a quality, superb haircut and color, she is just a great person in general. It makes it easy to want to go to the salon and sit in the chair for a few hours, what might be an ordeal elsewhere, I never feel that way when I am there. They other stylists are awesome too, everyone walks out of this place looking beyond great. I love the products, have been using Kerastase for a while, but just recently tried Oribe shampoo, the one for brilliance and shine. I really like this one, makes your hair so soft and makes your hair feel so clean. The Oribe masque for beautiful color is also the best deep conditioning masque I have ever used. I don't mind spending the money on the products, because they last a long time and I can tell a big difference in how my hair feels when I use quality products. I don't like lengthy negative posts, but do yourself a HUGE favor & don't bother with this place...I spent my time making an appt, filling out forms, taking photos before coming in for my appt, only to find out the stylist I want to use is going to be out for six weeks...In addition, they handed me a form and was advised if I cancelled REGARDLESS of any reason, they would charge me 100%...And I should sign this...Any questions, feel free to respond cause they are out of control...Oh and don't forge the $100 deposit...All to be cancelled cause I didn't like the cancellation policy...And to top it off was advised the stylist I wanted to use was the only one who does keratins...Many other wonderful hair salons to seek out in Orlando for sure! read more
