Great Vibe!! Did you ever go to a salon that was really hip and trendy but made you feel like you were completely unwelcome and out of place where you want to just disappear or melt into the floor? Well you will NOT feel that way at Lambs! I called for an appointment with Lisa, the owner, because of a friend's always sassy smart haircuts. The receptionist (very nice!!) booked a consultation first so that we'd know what we were doing and how much time Lisa would need to schedule for my first appointment. The salon is eclectic and artsy, yet warm and inviting. The vibe is very chill and positive. No pretentious stylists running around flaunting dramatic egos- just creative, authentic artists who sincerely care about their clients. I must also mention these folk are extremely passionate about animals and animal rights and for the past eight years have sponsored a fundraiser "Shampooch" which benefits local animal shelters. So, tell me, how can they be anything but genuine? My hair was basically a hot mess....frizzy, bad cut, and stripey highlights. Lisa and her assistant Jasmine worked their magic for two hours during which I felt completely relaxed and at home. When they finished, my color looked splendid and natural. The highlights now look natural and my base color looks normal, too. We are working on the cut which will take a few more visits to grow and shape into the style we want, but I am happy to have found what Lisa calls "a hair home"!! read more

I live nearby and I've always wanted to try this salon but they always seem to be busy when ever I had a free day. Finally got an appointment to see Marvin in order to clean up my grown out pixie cut. I told Marvin that my hair needed to touch up since it was looking a little matronly and he immediately knew what I was talking about and suggested we shorten up the sides. He then suggested a teal hair color for my blonde ends and I said let's go for it. I was immediately put at ease that he had a vision for my hair instead of just hoping for the best like some stylists do. Both he and his assistant Jasmine were very nice and personable and the time flew by. Everyone in the salon was very excited by my hair and I was extremely thrilled to leave with a cut that was edgy but still flattered me. Also looking forward to those complimentary neck cleanups the salon offers its short-hair clients. Seriously, I can't say enough nice things about Wes and Lambs Eat Ivy. This was the first salon I went to after moving to Orlando last year, and I've never wanted to go anywhere else. Everyone here is so nice and all the stylists (even the ones who have never cut my hair) know me by name. I also like that the salon participates in community events. I make it a point to stop by to see them during the Thornton 2nd Thursday Wine & Art Walk. In addition to being a great stylist, Wes is an all-around cool guy. He really got to know me and my aesthetic, so I trust him when he says, "Let's try something new." He always texts me a day or two after a cut to make sure I'm still loving it (which I am). I have found my new salon!!! I recently moved to Orlando from Los Angeles and finding a salon was on my long list of things to do. I had put off getting a hair cut for way to long! I looked them up and immediately made an appointment. Wes was amazing!!! I sat in his chair and explained to him what I was looking for and he completely understood and delivered I love my hair cut! Not sure how I've never written a review of Lambs, except maybe because I've been coming here long before I was Yelping. There is literally nothing negative to say about this salon, except maybe that sometimes it's hard to find parking in that area :-p The space is cozy, the stylists are a family, and everyone is friendly. The business (and all the products) are socially and environmentally conscious. When I started coming here, my hair was damaged from years of mistreatment. At this salon, they care about the integrity of your hair and what will look good on YOU. Basically, they treat you like an individual and understand how to do what will look best on YOU given your personal features and lifestyle. After reading Kiran's glowing review, I had to give Lambs Eat Ivy a shot. The place really is fantastic looking; modernist leather barber chairs, enormous mirrors, brushed metal tool chests and excellent lighting. I felt like a million bucks before clip one. What most impressed me about the place was when I walked in, Gregg motioned me over to a chair "to chat." We talked for a good 5 minutes about how I wanted my hair trimmed before I was sent over to the shampoo girl. And I clearly wasn't the only one getting this level of attention, as the lady next to me talked hair with her stylist for 10 minutes before they got to work. A place where people listen to what you want, rather than assuming they know best? Awesome. Gents, it's a bit pricey compared to what you're probably used to. My cut came to about $45 with tip. However, I'm completely satisfied with the cut, and more importantly, I've found a place where I feel genuinely comfortable that I will get exactly what I want. And since I've been there, "what I want" includes a scalp massage with every shampoo. I felt a little dumb staring at the ceiling with a big stupid grin, but it was GREAT. For many months, I have rambled around Orlando, a hair nomad in search of a home salon. I did not find one until yesterday, when I tried out Lambs Eat Ivy in Thornton Park. I had always been intrigued by this little spot and passed it frequently when walking in my neighborhood. After reading some other Yelp reviews and thinking it was worth a shot, I made an appointment to get my color done. All I can say is: I'm home! The place is a real charmer, with quirky art and little nooks--definitely my style. They don't push products on you, but are happy to tell you about what they have. Jacqo did my color and was awesome. We talked a bit about what I was looking for, and despite my inability to articulate it she totally delivered. What I really liked was before we got started we talked about different options and I was given price quotes upfront so I knew what I'd be in for. I've never been really into my hair, but I'm in love with it now! Ask for Jacqo, she'll give it to you straight and you'll be obsessed with your end result. The process was long, but eased by the complimentary beverages (pomengranate mimosas!), decent music, and overall fun/convivial vibe of the place. Lambs Eat Ivy has a great, friendly bunch of skilled, stylish, fun stylists. I really can't say enough great things about this place. Lisa, who is the owner, is an amazing person full of great ideas and creative energy. She wants to make you look amazing, and she's up to the job! My husband had his hair cut by Gregg, and Gregg was spectacular. I'm a pretty laid back person, but my husband has *definite* opinions about how his hair should look, hence why we had gone to about five different hair salons in a row after moving to Orlando. No one was up to Kieran's exacting -- and (sweetie, I promise!) valid -- standards. Gregg made the cut, and Kieran has gone back even since! Gregg's also an amazing person. Okay, I'm over-using the word amazing, but it's just too appropriate for this salon. I ended up having him do my wedding in New York, and he did all my friends hair SO WELL -- including one of my bridesmaids, Rosemary, who has a completely kick-ass afro, and had not found anyone who would agree to trim it for her in *two years*. How ridiculous is that. Gregg just picked up some scissors and *kazaam,* Rosemary's hair was in gloriously shaped condition. I used to go to Lambs Eat Ivy for my haircuts when I lived in the Lake Eola area in Orlando. It's in an excellent location, right in the heart of the area. My stylist was Brianna. She always did an excellent job of making me feel welcome. She's very friendly, but is also a great stylist. I never left disappointed and always had compliments in droves about my hair for the next couple of weeks. As a bonus, the shampoo provided before the haircut is simply amazing because it comes with a deep scalp massage that is out of this world. Great experience yesterday with Lisa! I've never had a stylist sit with me like she did. She wouldn't even color my hair until I came in for a consult first. Initially this seemed like a pain in the butt being I had such limited time to get my hair done and would ultimately have to make another appt for the actual process. All I can say is, how do other salons/ stylists NOT do it like that??? She discussed my skin tone, my lifestyle, my budget and what I really wanted. Marvin listened to me and gave me extremely useful and practical tips for styling and taking care of my hair. I left the salon feeling absolutely beautiful!! I'm not kidding when I say I got compliments as I walked down the street to my car. An entire week and a half later I have received 1 - 4 compliments EVERY SINGLE DAY about how beautiful my hair is. I've been a client here for almost two years and I am so happy I found this gem. When I first moved here, I roamed from salon to salon, trying to find a place to call home. I noticed a friend's color and asked for the name of her stylist- since her hair was so fantastic. She referred me to Brianna, and I've been going here ever since. I completely trust Brianna - she really knows how to cut curly hair and has great instincts. In fact, she's done a couple things I questioned at first, but it always turns out for the best. My color and shape look great and I always get random compliments. Her last great suggestion was a keratin treatment. That stuff is liquid gold - my hair is smoother and more manageable- it is even behaving in this crazy Florida humidity! The staff here is very friendly - from the receptionist to the assistants, everyone makes an effort to ensure you're comfortable during your visit. Lambs Eat Ivy is a very clean, modern, elegant salon in lovely downtown Thornton Park. Plus they love dogs! They are a unisex salon and I always see equal parts male and female clientele, so if you are a male reading this, you are in good hands. They are a tad pricey, but you get what you pay for in this small, high rent district. The salon has plenty of seating and nice staff so if you are there for a few hours getting processed, it's not a problem at all. Adult beverages, a lovely receptionist Celina, and good music add to the experience. I had the pleasure of having my tresses tamed by the ever charming and talented Marvin Lopez. He made my brassy red a delightful burgundy and it was one of the smoothest blow-outs I've ever had. Due to a horrible experience at a different salon (where my hair was chemically burnt off down to a half inch around the crown of my head) I started to do my research and landed on Lambs Eat Ivy. I gave them a call and asked who would best suit me and they prompted to schedule me an appointment with Wes. It was seriously the best decision I've ever made! He has been so honest with me through this "growing" process. He takes his time, I never feel rushed or am ever pawned off to another stylist or assistant. Lambs is one of the cutest (and extremely talented) salons in Orlando. My stylist was Alana and she is a magician. I just needed a little trim here, and a little bang there. She made my hair so feathery and smooth. Even though I didn't get much cut because I wanted to keep my length, I still felt totally "groomed" and refreshed. That feeling is hard to come by! (I have finally learned to not give in and just have a ton of my hair chopped off out of boredom because of amazing stylists like her.) Next stop: Color! The political chatter dominates the entire airspace and leaves a negative cloud in the air. Loved my hair service, hated the fact that in my few sparse hours for free time and self care, I was forced to listen to the owner and staff talk politics for hours and hours. Not just objective thoughts, seriously rude language and unapologetic to any patrons who may feel differently. It became a stressing situation to stay silent fearing the aggression and the totalitarianism in the room. Not professional in my opinion to isolate those who may not agree; fine to have different opinions but it's another thing to ram your ideals down others throats- in a hair salon no less- where people are trying to relax and have cheerful conversations. To each their own and if this establishment wants to alienate those who do not share their political ideals, then fine, there's a dozen other places on every city block to take my business to. Stylist insisted on all over color even though I protested. Hair came out completely ORANGE, brassy and "hot" but stylist was too much in a hurry to leave for lunch to address the issue. It has taken 4 trips to another salon and multiple toners to get my hair back to some semblance of a shade found in nature. I'm sure there are other stylist in the salon that may have listened to their clients wishes but I was unfortunate enough not to get them. Plus...all over color $185 not including tip!
