I'll occasionally stop in here and while much here doesn't fit my liking the vast variety of items usually has me finding a bargain. I recently found a Tumi coat here for a fraction of what I would have paid for at retail. Now that we have a grandson we really enjoy finding clothing for him here. The staff here is always helpful and friendly. Today my wife and I remarked how every employee we encountered greeted us with a very cheerful hello and made sure we were finding what we were looking for.

When I went to cash out, the register crashed as my credit card payment was completed. There was no receipt so they couldn't tell if the payment really completed or not. The manager came over and called the support team immediately to try and solve the issue. It took a while and the answer was never solved while there. I did have to cash out again, but she gave me information in case I was charged twice so I could be reimbursed with her name and store info on it. I noticed a few days later I was charged twice. The day I went to go back for my reimbursement, I double checked my account, and I saw they already discounted the second charge. Thank you so much for the great customer service!

So it's one of my favorite stores in any given mall and this one is no different. It's a little smaller than some of the others and very narrow but there's plenty of cool stuff in here, such as paraphernalia from movies and pop culture. It's evolved over the years but it's still a truly great store even though it's a little expensive. One of the highlights of any mall especially here at the McKinley Mall and always has people in it no matter how sleepy the McKinley mall is, and I always go in when I'm here. I tend to forget how great Big Lots can be but since the onset of Covid19, I have been saved a few…read moretimes because of this store. When everyone was standing 6ft apart esiting to go I to other stores along Military Rd, I walked right into Big Lots. The only people there were the employees. It was a breath of fresh air. As an essential healthcare worker, I have struggled to find necessities in the last few weeks and the last thing I want to do is stand in a line not knowing if the things I need will be there. However, each time I've walked into Big Lots I'm able to find toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies and a few healthy snacks for my lunch. I am in and out of the store in no time. It's like a hidden secret and I am grateful. One teeny tiny complaint is that in their efforts to abide by social distancing they have corralled the shopping carts so that they create a barrier at the door making the exit only an exit and the same for the entrance. But in doing so, there weren't many carts in the store. It was a little annoying but overall it was still a smooth shopping experience.

They have good practices during this COVID-19 time with everyone wearing masks and distances marked off at checkout. That being said there are some negatives too. I do wish they had bicycle racks since I usually bike there and have to lock my bike to a seating area which isn't ideal. The wait time at checkout can be longer than what seems necessary. The store can be messy and the shelves not stocked well. The employees don't seem to have much useful information when you ask for help. But all in all it's a good store for some reasons....food and free coupons.

Located at the sleepy McKinley Mall is this sleepy American Eagle store where nothing really happens and nothing really matters according to Queen. Prices are high as ever, but they do have slightly better inventory than for example the Boulevard or Galleria Mall - because they don't get as much traffic. Usually if the other stores are out of something, this store is not. Having said that, they're still expensive and the Boulevard Mall is much closer to me, so I hardly ever end up down here and I don't really like the style of American Eagle anyway.
