I wandered upon this gem of a shop the other day and fell in love. The second I walked in I was greeted by the most lovely of human beings Jessi, Esteban and Audrey. Jessi and Esteban loved on my pup Lilikoi and it was history from there. They were very attentive and knowledgeable of their products and what might be of service to my eczema flare up. I tried several different products that felt nice and ended up purchasing a gel and a hand soap that felt fancy. In the check out process they sprayed their lovely new fragrance Above us Steorra that is just divine and we're generous with samples to try out. I ended up back there that same evening to pick up that new fragrance, I just couldn't stop thinking about it. I HIGHLY recommend this spot if you are looking for some elevated skin care that smells delicious with natural essential oils and clean ingredients. read more

I had heard about this store/live close to one/have samples of their products but had never really gone in to see what they are all about. I was having bunch near this location in Silverlake and the aroma guided me in. On the day I went in, they were having a collab with a nearby coffee shop so I stopped in to check it out and have come very tasty coffee. The collab was with Counter Culture Coffee and I order the Cardamom Rose Flat White (Rose, Honey, Cardamom, Espresso, and Oat Milk). It was so flavorful. Aesop is an Australian luxury cosmetics brand that produces skincare, haircare and fragrance products. Everything smelled so good and you could sample things in store which was fun. I will be back to try more products but just wish they were more in my price range to actually purchase. read more

This Location is so beautiful & easily accessible with so many other cute shops near by. I was helped by a women named Kate who was so kind, informative, and welcoming. The staff prepared tea for me and walked me through my favorites as well as the new items they have. As a fan of Aesop products, I was extremely disappointed with the service at this store. My cousin and I came in and started perusing the products. The store clerk, a white male, was by himself sitting at the counter and did not acknowledge us at all. After a few minutes, a family came in. They were composed of a husband, wife, and two daughters. As I heard them conversing, I observed that they were European. The store clerk immediately stood up, greeted them, and offered them the house tea. We thought he would offer it to us as well but after serving them the tea, he returned to where he was sitting. At this point my cousin asked, "Is the tea for everyone?". The staff member responded "Yes, help yourself" then proceeded to ask if I also wanted a glass which I refused. He never even asked us if we had questions about the product and I had to initiate and ask about the scents on display. As customers we felt dismissed, ignored, and perhaps even racially profiled because we were Asian. I ended up purchasing an item and thankfully another staff member, a kind African-American man, completed the transaction. It saddens me that this form of micro aggression can occur in a community that is as diverse as Silverlake. I am taking this complaint to Aesop corporate and I will never step foot in their store again. read more

I've been a fan of Aesop slightly longer than I've been a customer. One of my favorite restaurants back home in SF (Liholiho Yacht Club) and Animal here in LA use their liquid hand soaps. My first impression of them were positive. Aesthetically, the bottles were understated and modern. I liked the look immediately. Simple label, mellow color. The soap itself smelled great (it wasnt too strong, it was just right) and didnt leave a slick or sticky residue. I was a fan from the start... Fast forward a year or 2 and I saw that Aesop had a store in Century City only to be followed a few years later by one in Silver Lake. I became a fan of their classic shampoo and conditioner. Great subtle fragrance and pleasing to use. I'm a bit sensitive to overly fragrant shampoos and such, so Aesop nailed it for me with this set.... I dont get to buy it often as the price point is high at around $50 PER bottle. Each bottle is 16.9 fl oz... As much as I like it and would like to use them year round, I cant justify the cost because I shower at least twice a day. The conditioner seems to be sold out often so I was glad that they had some at the Silver Lake store. The young lady who helped me was nice and informative. She told me that they are working on a couple of different hair conditioner formulas so I will see how that is the next time I'm all out of the good stuff. Street parking only... Great looking store. More on the simple use of woods look rather than the concrete look that Century City has. read more

This is for the service of the silverlake aesop store only. I've been a Aesop customer for years and thoroughly enjoyed their products. The Silverlake location is one of the physical locations I've visited over the years. However, the service was really lacking during my visit. I walked in with the intention of replenishing a number of my regularly used products and voiced the reason for my visit to the sales associate. She indicated that the first item I asked for wasn't available and did not bother to assist in any other way. She did not try to see if it would be available in another location and generally had the "can't be bothered" attitude. Very disappointed with this store. read more

I don't find myself in this area much except when I want my specific fix from the Australian coffee place known as Roo's, but I noticed Aesop was not only in this neck of the woods, but also on the same side of the street. My reasoning is I had no reason Not to stop in. Upon entering, there was one other customer that was shopping around but the redheaded guy still managed to acknowledge me which was cool. I knew I just wanted to poke around for a while, so I was kind of glad someone else was there occupying his time. When he came back around, I just let him know my limited experience with the line, and he was able to give a brief but extensive background to the company which I found fascinating. He also let me know what their best sellers were, but was still able to discuss the products I took an interest in thoroughly. At closing, he provided me with a few samples, including the fragrance Tacit which was very thoughtful of him. Never once did he try to push me to buy, or talk me into something I clearly had no desire in. Seems as though others shared my positive opinion of this place and person, so I'm happy to say Nick will bring me back into the shop when I am over this way and ready to buy. read more

I've been a long time fan of the products and particularly dedicated to the Pasadena location. So when I moved i knew I'd probably be visiting this location more. Today was my first experience and already am (probably being dramatic) in love with this location and staff. 1) They were extremely knowledgeable about their products and from the interactions they had with other customers I could tell the staff was just beyond pleasant. 2) I assume the brand hires according to their brand and if there was a location that represented it properly - it's this one. The staff were calm, smart and (while I hate to be superficial) extremely attractive. Shoutout to Kate, John and Justin who helped me today. Stopped by the store today to pick up a gift. Justin was incredibly helpful and accommodating and showed me around all the products and let me try out the hand soap at the sink. Such a fun interactive store experience. I asked about their favorites and they showed me a handful of the perfumes which are really beautiful and earthy. Especially liked the Rozu which was sprayed on the gift bag. Such a nice touch. Slay. Justin's service was 10/10, very friendly and answered all my questions with grace and patience. My friend June K. and I dropped into Aesop while wandering around Silver Lake a few weeks back. She's a fan of this place, as I gathered when she was greeted with a "You again!" shortly after we walked in. She'd apparently been in the night before, to buy a Christmas present, and Nick, the guy on staff, recognized her. I learned a few things immediately: that this is a friendly store, great for gift shopping, and that June has a secret Aesop addiction. The place was attractive and welcoming, with neatly labeled bottles of good-smelling products lining all the walls. I'd heard about their fancy hand soap, and when I saw there was a sink set up in the middle of the store, I decided to see what the fuss was about. By the time I was finished washing my hands, a woman had provided me with a towel, and Nick had offered us peppermint tea. The towel was fresh and the tea delicious, and I was successfully trapped into buying a $38 bottle of soap. To be fair, no one forced me to do anything. The soap was genuinely lovely, and the pampering put me in a liberal mood. There were two kinds of hand soap, and I went with the Reverence, which smelled wonderful and had a satisfying grainy texture. Nick also hooked me up with a complete range of skincare samples, which I look forward to using on a weekend trip next month. I haven't ventured too far into high-end skincare/bath product territory, but if I ever do, I know Aesop's got plenty to sell me. I noticed they even make an animal cleanser that costs more than my body wash. My husband was astonished when I told him I'd spent $38 on hand soap ("You know soap is like $2, right?"), but we put it in the powder room, and I know he enjoys washing his hands in there. I'm curious how long it lasts, and whether we'll be hooked enough to re-up by the time we run out. Either way, the Aesop store is a great place to indulge in a little luxury. read more

great little shop located on Sunset near APC, the shop has a wide range of high-end hygiene products that use high quality botanicals and other natural ingredients. the range of their products include skin and hair products, deodorants, fragrances, and other personal care products. the staff was very knowledgeable and can help you setup a new skincare routine or recommend products based on your skin type. they'll even demo some products on your hands so you can get a feel for the product. they also have huge drawers full of samples of every product they have near the cashier stand, so don't be shy to ask for a few samples to try out before you decide to plunk down the cash for full size bottles. in addition, they also have some travel kits that include a small range of their products. the kits vary in their product range, but can be a smarter initial investment to allow you to try out some products over a few days before you purchase the full size products...which can be quite pricey. while it can be a bit overwhelming at first to figure out which products or skin care routine would be best for your skin type, on Aesop's website they have bundles for your skin type (oily, dry, or combination) that can help to guide you in starting a new skin care routine. definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want to step up your skin care regimen. read more

I love Aesop. Everything from their interior design to their product design to the actual product. But this review is for this specific store. Dropped by on a Sunday night because we were window shopping and I really wanted my SO to experience Aesop as well. Visiting aesop stores are a hit or miss experience because it really depends on the workers there. They greeted us and my SO washed her hands (I love reverence because of the pumice). The worker rubbed some of the B Triple C (my favorite product) on her hands. All of this was fairly normal for anyone walking into Aesop. I talked to her about the various products and which ones I use, and we decided to sit down for a bit to rest. One of the workers brought us tea and a bag full of samples for her to try (we had made no indication that we wanted anything) which was a really nice gesture. After sitting and talking, I decided to put on Tacit and wash my hands as well before deciding to walk out. As we were about to walk out, another worker approached us and told us that he wanted to give her a gift, and he gave her a travel sized body balm for free. They never pressured us to buy anything, and treated us extremely well! It was a magical experience for us and it made our nights so much better. Would definitely stop by again! (As for their products, I've used quite a few and highly suggest their moisturizers for a "worth" purchase. But all skin types vary so ask a worker what's best for your skin!) read more

I stopped in today to buy a body wash. The gentleman with the red hair had lovely customer service skills that he took pride in. He was very attentive and full of knowledge. A crazy woman in line ahead of us was trying to return a bottle refilled with water. Quite the con to use up the product and try to return it. It wasted the poor sales associates time and mine. We were served tea, given samples and a full size, free hand balm for all the time this woman wasted of our lives. Five starts to Aēsop for handling the situation with grace and integrity. part of last sunday's meanderings with the mister entailed poking our heads into aesop, which was open at least until 7:00 pm on a sunday night! we were lured in by this lovely tangerine-y body balm in tester dispensers near the door, but then we were enticed to remain thanks to one of the best salespeople we've ever encountered: nick! before we knew what was happening, we were sipping on mint tea in charming cups, and nick was disproving my prejudicial attitude towards all scents rose (it's a mother thing. my female parental unit favored tea rose, which is a particularly cloying scent, plus i have mother issues on top of that). upon hearing i love sprucy scents, i was led to the sink display and treated to some of this eucalyptus body scrub. this was just outstanding, all scrubby yet sleek and moisturizing at the same time. hey there, my mister! if you're reading this, consider this review a not so subtle hint that i would like that body scrub as a giftie! read more

I'm extremely loyal to my Downtown Aēsop store, but my first ever visit to the Silver Lake Aēsop boutique - I was just in the neighborhood, Downtown Aēsop, I swear! - showed the same great level of customer service I'm accustomed to at my normal location for expensive Antipodean botanical-based bath-and-body esoterica. Of course, the assistant was one I'd met at the Downtown store, and she was just as lovely in Silver Lake as she ha been on Broadway. And Aēsop is always fantastic in my book. I love the stuff, despite the prices - and I know those prices are painful. But look at the ingredient label of a bottle of Aēsop anything and then look at the ingredients of the "organic" "Earth friendly" anything else. Even Korres, which has a fairly natural, hippyish reputation, reads like an AP Chemistry textbook next to Aēsop. For me to part with $50 for a bottle of face cleanser (which I've done repeatedly), it better work a damn miracle. Aēsop's products have helped me with some troublesome skin issues where everything else (including scary prescriptions) has failed. Their products are heavily botanical based (check the labels), with no added fragrance other than the active ingredient botanical oils, and Aēsop isn't a company masquerading as a chic, bleeding edge brand that's actually owned by a superconglomerate (see: Le Labo, Frédéric Malle). It's genuinely independent. I'm a fan, both of Aēsop in general and this store in particular. So go! Buy some $27 hand cream! Be fancy! That stuff lasts forever, anyway... read more

The man working at the store overheard me and gave me an entire skin care routine in the store for free and I left with a handful of samples. He was so kind and did not try to push me to purchase anything. I would definitely go back and purchase things now though because they were so patient and helpful!!!! Stopped by this new shop on my way to the farmer's market and had a very pleasant experience. I walked in anticipating this place would be similar to LUSH and although it was very different it didn't disappoint. From what the nice employee explained to me there is a skin care section, body care section, and hair section with all natural products made in Australia. There are a couple of very nice sinks where you are encouraged to test out various products. All the products smell amazing and range from woodsy, floral, to citrus scents. I sampled a body scrub that had pumice in it that smelled heavenly and left my hands feeling so smooth! They also have special wash that can be used on pets! I was super pumped and convinced that I had to walk out of this store with something and although I looked and looked there was not one single price tag in sight which is a great marketing technique, but super annoying in my opinion (minus one star) Anyway I had finally made up my mind that I would either get a hand soap or the dog wash and when I asked the employee what the prices were he said $39. Call me a cheap skate but at least not at this point in my life would I consider buying a $39 hand soap. (Minus one star) I would rather go to Whole Paycheck and get any equally nice smelling, organic, fair trade, blah, blah blah, etc. hand soap for a fraction of the price. Also, I found it rather odd that a hand soap and a dog wash would be the same price. read more

I've been to a few Aēsop locations before and to re-echo other reviewers, it was either a hit or miss experience depending on who was helping you. Today, a helpful and sweet gentleman with the cutest freckles and curly red hair welcomed me and my sister by showing us various products. He took the time to learn about our skin types to create individualized recommendations for each of us. Then he asked us if we were interested in testing out some of these products that he gathered based off our skin concerns (UMM YAASSS), preferences on silky vs dewy, scent, etc. We each received a full wash, toner, moisturizer demo on our hands (left the store with one delicate, supple soft hand, winning!). We both felt so welcomed and never felt pressured to make a purchase at the end of the demo. It was consistently a relaxing experience, and we had natural conversation the entire time. He also poured hot tea for us to try that was exclusive to Aēsop stores (like what? didn't even know they had tea!!) and sent us home with a customized bag of goodies to try. If you are ever in the LA area and want to learn more or add Aēsop products to your life, visit this location and hopefully he will be able to help you! The employees are very friendly & knowledgeable and will devote a lot of time asking about your skin and hair type so they can help you find the best products to fit your needs. It doesn't feel like a hard sell as they will give you samples so you can make sure the product recommendations work for you. They have skin, body and hair care products made with natural ingredients and essential oils. There is another product they sell that is amazing (and funny) called "Post-Poo Drops" to make unwanted odors go away after using the restroom. I thought they wouldn't really work, but they really do! Everyone should have this product! I personally own their hand cream, facial cleansing oil, barrier face cream, Moroccan rose face oil, all of which work really well and a little goes a long way....and all smell amazing.(btw- I have very sensitive skin and none of the products or essential oils irritate my skin) I would say the price is worth it for something this special. Also, their fragrance, Marrakesh, of which I also own, also smells amazing. Love this place and will keep exploring their product lines. read more
