Dr. Allen is truly the best dermatologist i've been to in the area, i've seen several dermatologists and nothing compares to the amount of care and attention he puts into each patients care. Dr. Allyn takes the time to explain and answer questions. He has taken time over the weekend to reach out in regards to labs. Dr. Allyn does simple procedures the same day. Dr. Allyn is a very kind man and an exceptional doctor who treated my cancer on my nose last year. Thank God it is gone and hasn't come back. His staff is also amazing and I feel welcome there and treated with dignity. I am glad that my insurance covers this practice as it is above and beyond some others. This place is terrible. The doctor and staff are very unprofessional. You have to keep calling them to remind them about the prescription that they were suppose to send. They keep forgetting and never call you back. The exam chairs are ripped as if you're in some third world country. The place is a hot mess. I am extremely unhappy. I've been going to Dr. Allyn for about 7 years. I spent a lot of time in the sun so my skin needs to be checked periodically for any precancerous spots. When he finds one that looks suspicious he'll freeze it to be on the safe side. Dr. Allyn is very witty, friendly, a people person. Whenever I had a question about a suspicious area, treatment, or if I notice an area I'm concerned about, he takes the time to answer all my questions to my satisfaction. He talks to me in Layman's terms that I understand, not like some Doctors that talks in medical terms then gets upset if the patient asks for an explanation. He diagnosed skin cancer on my Mom's face. He did the surgery and we were very well pleased about the outcome. My Mom was very particular about her looks. You could barely see the hairline scar and my Mom could easily cover it up with makeup. Dr. Allyn's staff is just as nice and friendly as he is. They are very knowledgeable about their position and will attempt to answer questions, as well. If they don't know the answer, they will ask Dr. Allyn. I would recommend Aesthetic Dermatology and Dr. Allyn to anyone. I've been to other Dermatologists and he's the only one I've been so pleased with. read more

Stay away from Dr. Allyn HWY 27 Clermont! My husband and I had scheduled appointments for basic skin examinations with Dr. Allyn in Clermont. I thought it was unusual that the tech didn't provide a gown or ask me to remove my clothes. Dr. Allyn entered the room cheerfully singing a Nursery Rhyme Mary, Mary Quite Contrary. I thought to myself for an initial visit this is unprofessional, inappropriate behavior. Dr. Allyn did not examine my face or scalp, he did not palpate my hair. He barely lifted my sleeves to glance at my forearms. He left the exam room, I thought maybe that was his introduction and next I'll be told to get ready for the examination. The tech returned to the exam room and advised me that he wanted to see me again in 6 months. I told her that he did not perform an examination and I would not return. My husband's appointment was just after mine, when he came out he said that Dr. Allyn didn't examine him and that the appointment was a waste of time. I chose Dr. Allyn based on his education & training and was hugely disappointed and angry that Dr. Allyn did not provide the service that he should have. I was a BSN, RN Nurse Manager in the Primary Care Clinic at the Villages OPC. I took Basic Physical Assessment in my BSN program at Stockton University and again at UMDNJ Graduate School of Nursing. Basic skin exam includes skin, nails and hair. For medical purposes you cannot examine someone's skin if they are wearing clothes, shoes & socks. If the patient is wearing clothes, shoes, and socks you cannot inspect the skin on the soles of feet and between the toes and buttocks. Examination includes inspection and palpating the fingernails and toenails noting color, shape and any lesions. Dr. Allyn did not perform basic inspection or palpation. He should have examined each region of skin for color, moisture, temperature, texture, mobility and turgor. He should have inspected for skin lesions. His demeanor was strange and his behavior bizarre. I was very upset that I wasted my time and that Medicare & BS/BC was going to pay him for the visit. When we returned home I called Medicare and reported him. read more
