PLEASE READ: update on reviews: Please see my post below, which I had taken down because Danny came back on 5/25/2022 and did half of the work, collected more money ($14,500 total so far), and promised to return to finish the work once he receives the glass shipment. Since then he hasn't returned, giving reasons ranging from being in a car accident to being in jail to being evicted. But the last two months he has just been radio silent despite multiple attempts to contact him. I wish I could be putting up a better review because he does good work, but if you still see this post still it means that he hasn't come back to finish the work. In my book, he's a con-artist until proven otherwise. 4/23/2022 update: Still absolutely no progress. Got a text from Daniyar Tuyakbayev last week: "please give me time until the 27th or I'll refund you. Sorry for the delay, out of my control. Hope you understand. Thanks." I will update again after the 27th to let you know how honest and trustworthy he is. --- Suspecting a Fraud in Progress Similar to Nir B's experience, I am getting the delaying tactics. Daniyar Tuyakbayev (from Aesthetic Metals or Glass Railing Doctor) visited my house in January 2022, collected $8,500 (half of the total estimate) to order the glass panels for my deck railing, and promised 2-4 weeks to completion in writing. Since then he has not started the work, blaming supply chain issues with the glass industry but refusing to provide any proof that the glass panels have actually been ordered. I am filing a complaint to the county attorney's office to investigate a possible fraud. I will provide updates to this post if there is any progress, and would be happy to retract this review if the work actually gets done or when I get refunded. But if you still see this post, it means that the work hasn't gotten started, I'm still $8,500 down, and please don't fall for a possible fraud. read more

We appointed Aethestic metals september 2017 to replace some existing railings. Their workman left the project on 20th November, saying he was going on holiday and said his colleague would finish the work on the following Monday. No one turned up to finish the work. In addition rust is already showing through the painted steel they installed. Some bolts are missing and the gate lock doesn't work or fit the gate frame. We have had the remedial work quoted by another contractor. They quoted $3,700 to paint the railings and 'make good' the unfinished work. We have tried to contact Dan Tuyakbayev of Aesthetic Metals several times. He said he would finish the work. He agreed its of poor quality and not finished. He has failed to complete the work, contact us or turn up. This has gone on for months and is deeply frustrating. We have requested a refund several times. He has not refunded us or completed the work. Some of his email replies have been threatening, untrue and unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to use this company. read more

As we were shopping for railings for a deck, we came across a page called "Glass Railings Doctor" in San Francisco on Yelp. I called the given contact number and was put in touch with Daniyar Tuyakbayev. Daniyar came out to assess and gave us a business card for "Aesthetic Metals," the company he owns. Even though there were a couple of negative reviews on Aesthetic Metals from a few years ago, we went ahead with Daniyar because we believe in giving people the benefits of the doubt and second chances. When he first came out for an estimate of our project, it was a Saturday and he brought his toddler son with him. I think seeing that led us to go soft on Dani with the negotiation as we must have somehow believed that now that he became a caring father, he must be a more responsible and an accountable person as a whole. Well, looks like we were wrong--at least on his business handling with us. In summary, Daniyar required a 50% deposit for our project and insisted on paying him by check (like most contractors) with the agreement that he could provide installation details on the custom railing system and the 4 weeks installation turn-around time. We started getting uncomfortable after a couple of weeks passed and nothing was happening. More worrisome was that Daniyar kept providing us with answers that did not make sense to us and kept delaying the start date, saying that he was busy searching for materials to purchase from various vendors and waiting for his architect to get back to him on the structural details. He ended up providing us with a manufacturer's standard railing installation instructions that did not directly apply to the system we wanted to install. Since it appeared that Daniyar could not deliver what we were looking for, and when he told me that I was over worrying about the city inspection, we got even more concerned. Naturally we were not comfortable moving forward with him and asked for a refund of the deposit. Daniyar told us that he would refund us in 2 weeks. Meantime, we tried to give him some business and asked if he would install a cable railing for the stairs but he did not seem interested as he never gave us a quote for that. Almost 3 months later, we still have not received our refund. If he were an honest and accountable business man and offer a payment plan, I would be more than willing to work him. However, the fact that he has continued to ignore us over and over again and not willing to address our concerns left me no choice but to write this review. I have debated whether to post this review or not, but have decided to do so to warn honest folks what they are in for if they choose to contract Danny. We contracted him to weld our staircase. During the first meeting, he and his partner came across as very energetic and fun people but after that it was one issue to the next, till we terminated the contract with him. 1. He asked us for more than 60% of the project value up-front which is highly unusual (we were fresh into the build process and did not know the industry practice is to pay after the job is complete) 2. He disappeared on us for months at an end to the point where the build of the entire house was on a standstill for 3 months just because of him causing us stress and extra costs to maintain the standstill site and our rental 3. When he finally got back in touch, it became apparent that he does not know how to understand architectural plans that the city had approved and we had to inspect his work ourselves and multiple times ask him to correct and redo what he had done. 4. An independent welder informed us that the work that he had done would not pass city inspections as he was using the incorrect gauge for his welding This was the final straw, and we discontinued his contract. Overall, we lost thousands of dollars, 3 months of build time due to his dishonestly and lack of work ethic. He caused us hours of agony and endless days of stress. They came through in the end and we have beautiful railings. Would I recommend them to a friend? I'd definitely say PAY WITH CREDIT CARD to protect yourself. Don't pay more than you're comfortable with up front the way I did. I understand that materials cost money but you shouldn't pay as much as I did before the work has started. In order to keep a healthy business, you really must communicate with your clients throughout the process. Danny was an excellent communicator after my husband and I got REAL. I want the best for Danny. I want him to be as professional during the project as he is at first meeting. read more

Danny built a beautiful custom glass "factory window" wall in our home. It looks fabulous. As with most custom work there are unknowns and Danny was able to work with the situation, produce a lovely product and stick to his quote. The work is a great centerpiece to the home, Once the pandemic subsides and we start having guests over again, I'm sure we'll get lots of positive comments about it. But in the meantime, our family is appreciating the work he did. read more

My grandmother's house has a nice backyard patio which is few levels lower than the house itself. Grandma needed metal railings as a support to walk up and down the stairs. Nothing fancy. Especially with my limited budget and rushed timeline, Aesthetic Metals was a lifesaver. The first visit started with me complaining about the current situation, where I needed a mesh added to an exterior security gate. Contacted Aesthetic Metals for Iron gates that I needed for my house and received a quote within an hour. Money I was initially allocating for the gates was cut in half by these guys when they came to my place for measurements. They simply tossed out some labor and material rates from two previous estimates I had gotten from other metal fabricators and believe me, the gates look exactly what I wanted. After searching for weeks to find someone who could install our new handrail we found Aesthetic Metals. We hired Dany to completely replace our existing handrails on an interior staircase with a custom Chippendale patterned metal handrail, and the result is beautiful. Aesthetic Metals not only was the first to respond and propose a good deal on both, but also helped and guided me through designing concept transforming the "security" means into "iron beauty" definition. How can I say this, Dan is the man. I hired Aesthetic Metals to build a handrail and guardrail at a home remodel in Mill Valley. When the bids came in I had a good feeling about Dan, I offered him the opportunity to match our lowest bidder and he did. We gave him a lot of design input, which he followed to the T.
